We were travelling along with my whole family (12 pax) and we were highly surprised by the hotel locations, the gastronomy and the excellent customer service provided by the whole team including Claudia and Ernesto! The kids really enjoyed the beach, playing with lanterns in the night or watching the stars in the sky!

El Matuy is a natural reservation located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta. This magical place allows you to isolate from the ciber-electronic charged world, yet keeping you connected at your wish. There is no need for fans or air conditioners, due to the cold breeze coming down from the Sierra Nevada. Food and beverages are...

We went with our kids for four nights. Very nice hotel. Food was very good, cabins were good, considering that the hotel is for Eco-tourism. Having no electricity for five days was a nice experience (you have access to a power outlet at the front desk for your electronics if needed) The beach is very nice, very little people.

Yes - the place is pretty, comfortable, and romantic. Except if the staff decide to host a massive party with music that can be heard from a kilometer away, for the whole afternoon and evening. Sadly, our stay was ruined by a party that was being hosted on the premises. So much for "eco" hotel with no electricity: they had...

Beautiful cabins, no electricity makes a perfect rest and reconnection with nature and family. Birds singing in the morning and frogs at night. Authentic and friendly staff. Amazing tropical gardens. Food is delicious local ingredients.

El Matuy eco resort was the break we were searching for. Everything that was necessary to really rest was thoughtfully provided, and it leaves out many of the things that keep you preoccupied with the everyday without compromising a sense of luxury. Clean, comfortable beds and good quality, delicious food. (One small note: the outdoor showers could use a head...

The cabanas are spacious and quite comfortable. It is a fantastic place to be away from civilization for a few days, wake up with the sun and the sound of waves, and relax without the noise of regular life. The cabanas have no electricity or hot water, but you enjoy candlelight dinners, and you can charge your cell phone/tablets safely...

A wonderful location - where else have I watched woodpeckers nesting while standing in the shower or got up at dawn as bats are going to sleep in the eaves outside my window? A fantastic break away from it all. If you're looking for peace and quiet and a chance to simply sit on the beach and read a book,...
