Workers and owners are absolutely amazing, friendly and warmly with costumers . The place is a peaceful one , magic ! The perfect place to relax and do nothing . My unique complain is about the Restaurant . Cami, as lovely person but very strict with the portions of food . So: for example , if you want another arepa you must buy the whole breakfast . When you visit the beach you get very hungry and there is no many opciones , also portions are very small .
I stayed at la Sirena for two month to work as a Yoga Teacher at a yoga teacher training hosted there. I loved the nature around us and the beautiful beach of palomino. The staff was beyond friendly and attentive, the overall vibe was amazing and I had a good internet connection to work remotely as well ! The cabanas are well furnished and the yoga shala is exeptional ! I also recommend booking a massage with Jessy R. Roda who works at the local SPA area of la sirena. In general, I had a wonderful time there and I would recommend 100%!
We spent the most relaxing few days in this hotel. For us it was perfect and the best place we stayed whilst in Colombia. It is extremely environmentally friendly and the owners have worked hard to create a peaceful, sustainable haven for travellers. The room was spacious, cool during the night, well-equipped and comfortable. We enjoyed showering outside, especially in the evening and looking up at the thousands of stars (no light pollution!). Even the soap was made by the hotel, which was filled with essential oils! We spent a lot of time reading in the hammocks on the terrace of our cabin, listening to the sound of the waves. The restaurant was great too with organic vegetarian food, a lot of which is grown in the small farming area within the grounds. The food was all really tasty whilst being healthy. I had a relaxing 1 hour massage during the stay, which was heavenly and approx. $32. The lady seemed experienced and used good quality essential oils. I haven't been so relaxed for a very long time! I attended yoga every day (approx $6) and absolutely loved that you could hear the sea whilst taking part. The instructors were excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable. Thank you to the owners for creating such a wonderful hotel. We will never forget our stay and time in Palomino. Note: please be advised that during out stay (Feb 2020) the beach had become very eroded due to high tides and is not how it appears in the photos on TripAdvisor. The sand was also dark brown/black colour in some areas which impacted on the colour of the sea. Note: whilst there was a child staying at this hotel when we were there, I would say that it is probably less child friendly than other hotels in Palomino on the basis that it's a very quiet and relaxing hotel and there isn't much of an area for kids to play or a pool. Note: the hotel uses compost toilets - this wasn't a problem at all for us but I imagine they aren't for everyone!…
We wanted to relax for one last week at playa palomino at La Sirena Hotel. But to our surprise, there was no beach. The beach has eroded away! Very sad to see. So there was no sunbathing or walks at the beach since it was gone. And no swimming since the currents were too strong. The hotel had a fence around it, So when we wanted to go to town, the hotel said that the closest way is to walk along the beach...what beach?!? Another option was tuc tuc, which we took. The hotel forgot to inform us that they close the gates to the hotels at 10 pm. So we were looked out after an evening in town. Who closes a hotel resort at 10 pm? I could go on...but my conclusion is that I don’t recommend this place!
We had a fantastic time at the La Sirena hotel! We loved the nature everywhere and the food both for breakfast and dinner was really good and all vegetarian. We stayed at a cabaña with normal toilet which was very romantic for a couple, especially with the shower directly outside in the nature. Of course though you have to get used to the insects from time to time ;) The beach was quiet at least directly in front of the hotel and as a tour we did the river tubing, which was heaps of fun but quite a long tour (4 hours). Would definitely recommend to stay at La Sirena!
I will start with the positives; La Sirena is on the beach and is also quiet. The area itself is beautiful and has lovely hammonds bordering the beach and sand area and is very relaxing. However, the resort itself is more eco than I had realized. My friend had booked this, and will def intervene next time she tried to book something so "eco" in the future. Neither of us realized that the resort is completely a composting bathroom system, so all toilets are organic and basically outhouses with a composing unit. Very overwhelming - so be advised that this is what you are getting in to. Also - the units are not exactly secure. They are made of straw and have open spots at the back and in the roof. The doors are locked by an actual padlock - so its as basic as they come. They were able to accomdate and provide with a room with a toilet, but overall I would never stay here again. Not to say this type of accomodation isn't for some people; If you don't mind very rustic grounds in the jungle with an outhouse - then check it out. NOTE - Great breakfast! However - we noticed on the way out that there is a sign saying that the bathroom compost is what fertilizes the garden. Yeah - again...not for us!…
An awesome jewel in Palomino! We had a slight hiccup with our accommodations and the staff handled it masterfully. Everyone was super friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was exceptional, an absolute 10/10 (coming from 2 non-vegetarians). The beachfront was breathtaking with stunning views and comfortable loungers and hammocks. It was a very relaxing, and memorable stay. We would absolutely recommend and will definitely be back to visit!
Beautiful staff. DELICIOUS FOOD. We felt say and relaxed and loved every second of our stay here. I'm not the one to write reviews but we LOVED every second here. The yoga class was aaaaaamazing and loved all the little details around our room. The hammocks, the flowers, the coconuts...take us back to Paradise!
Quiet and safe.. a very neat and eco friendly hotel. The rooms are perfect for the environment. The beach is clean and surrounded with lovely green vegetation. Breakfast was amazing! Third time here! Will definitely come back.
I stayed at La Sirena at the end of a three week flashpacking trip. First of all, Palomino is a gorgeous strip of sand with lots of blissful beach bars, delicious restaurants and a great backpacker vibe. As far as hotels go, there‘s something for everyone. You can stay in a busy hostel dead center on the main road/beach intersection, sleep in a basic aircon room further back in town or use one of the rather cramped hotels on the beach. But if you want to really take in the beautiful nature and relax on the beach, La Sirena is the way to go. The property is essentially a huge, very well tended to garden right on the beach. In the front you will find the restaurant, loungers, hammocks and a hut with some rooms. In the mid section there‘s a hand full of georgeous self-contained huts. In the back is a small farm. I stayed at one of the cabañas for three nights and at a beach front room for two. The cabañas are beautifully built. Spacious, breathable, clean. Wonderful outdoor bathroom with compost toilet (no problem here). Large patio with hammocks, rockers and table. Solid walls all around with a high roof that‘s open to all sides. The house came with a gecko, a frog, a bat, a small spider and a cat. I‘m not fond of insects but here it was no issue at all. The beach front room shares the same great bedding and cleanliness but was quite cramped and not as light and spacious as the cabañas and a lot more rustic. Shared bathrooms were clean and close by and the rooms open up directly to the beach. Would preferr the cabañas if available. In both rooms it got pretty warm at night. It was definetely okay to sleep but if I could change one thing about the resort, I would make sure there‘s enough power at night to keep the fans running or even better: install ceiling fans. Service was very warm and attentive throughout. Had a great, very professional massage. The restaurant ist a prime example for how good vegetarian kitchen can be. All of the dishes I had were just delicious (and generally available, other than what old reviews say). Think garden crepe, falaffel, curry, lentil burger etc. So what‘s left to say? 5/5, recommendation and would definetely come again.…
