Dawn at your front desk was really exceptional. I was in town for work and I’m glad she was the night clerk because of I ever had any questions she was there to help. I would definitely hire her. Thanks again Dawn!!
The front desk clerk was very nice and pleasant. I stayed several days she made my stay easy. Room was clean. Breakfast options were great. I will definitely return. The holiday inn is good dealing with the coronavirus
I wanted people traveling during COVID-19 to know what our experience was... We wanted to be at our granddaughter's first birthday party on July 3, 2020. We live near Chicago and or son lives in a small town north east of Scottsburg, Indiana. Our son's house is small with one bathroom so my husband and I decided to stay at the Scottsburg Holiday Inn. Due to COVID restrictions there was no buffet breakfast but you could choose pre-packaged items like muffins, cereal etc...and they would pack your items in little bags for you to pick up at the front desk in the morning. The pool was not open and there is no cleaning service while you were there to clean your room during your stay but the rooms were cleaned before you entered then cleaned after you left. We stayed on Friday and Saturday night and checked out on Sunday July 5, 2020. The motel is very neat and clean. The few staff were polite. When checking in you will reach over small tables to give them your credit card and drop your room cards in a basket when you check out. Our room had one small roll of toilet paper, 1/2 box of Kleenex we had to go to the front desk to ask for more. There were 2 bath towels, hand towels and 2 wash clothes. We used for both days. A single size coffee pot with enough mix to make 2 cups...we had to go to the front desk to get more. When initially entering our room 106 we noticed a very strong chemical smell. I immediately went to the window to see if I could open it and air it out. Thankfully I could open it about 3" as there was a lock on it that kept it from opening wider. We also turned up the air conditioning from 75 to 70... we noticed the bathroom floor was damp probably from condensation. Everything was kind of sticky and damp due to the high heat and humidity outside. My husband has a heart condition and breathing disorder and I have allergies. The first night was fine only a little breathing issues, coughing and runny nose. When we came back that evening I cracked open the window for fresh air but had to close it a little later due to the great amount of smoke coming in the window due to the 4th of July fireworks. At about 3 a.m. my husband woke up and was having breathing issues which set off his heart and he had to take several nitro tabs to calm it down. I woke with a sore throat, extreme nasal congestion and runny nose. My eyes were swollen and my face and sinuses hurt. I opened the crack in the window again and we tried to sleep but it was a very restless doze until my husband said he had to get out of the room after taking several more nitro tabs due to severe chest pains. We both showered and packed up and left. About a few hours later after we had been out of the room we started feeling better. We think the room was probably cleaned with a very strong chemical that gave us the bad breathing reaction. Please be aware of the increased chemical use everywhere if you suffer from allergies or any breathing conditions.…
We have been here for almost 3 weeks for work. Dawn, at the front desk, has been so helpful with all of our questions and needs. Always with a smile on her face. She has been one of the best parts of our stay here. We will be back.
I stay here anytime I'm driving through Indiana. It's right off of I-65 and the team there have the best service. I think the manager's name is Jessica (I could be wrong but I'm almost positive).. she helped us right away and you could tell she really loved her job and wasn't robotic as so many people are. The room was clean and comfortable. I couldn't ask for anything better.
