Amazing place, unique experience. Nature as it best. Lots of fruit trees such as Mangas, Cajú´s, Acerola. The rooms are open to the nature and the wind breeze provides a much better sleep than an AC. The decoration and details are beautifuls. The pool is huge, great for a swim to start the day or after the beach or even at night. Localization is perfect, just 10 minutes walking from the beach and some restaurants. Also is possible to arrange Taxi-Quats to go a little bit longer. At reception we got help to arrange all the excursions and we got the privilege to go to the Lençois Dunes Park, an unique place in the world. The Pousada La Ferme de Georges also has a restaurant in it. Its called La Table and we try the best Moqueca in our life´s. With natural coconut milk and fresh fish. All the staff are very friendly, always with a smile. I highly recommend this Pousada, one of my best`s time`s in my life.

This hotel has completely disappointed us due to a striking imbalance between price and value. This place is worth maximum 3 stars, but is charging for a 4-5 star hotel. One can easily get into this trap since the webpage of the hotel is very well-done with favorable pictures of the place. Once you are in Atins, which is a 4h drive by car + 1h by boat from São Luís there is no way back, since this is the best place in Atins and  surroundings. The rooms are really simple without an air conditioning, no TV, no WLAN and not even a hair-dryer. They are fully open to the outside (no windows or mosquito nets) so that all insects can come in and they do! The temperatures at night make sleeping almost impossible. The management is completely laid-back and complacent and one can not distinguish them from the guest: it seems as if they were having vacation looking at their posture. They are completely unprofessional and were not even able to welcome us in a proper way, neither to explain details of the 4 (!!) tours they are offering. In contrast, the ordinary staff is extremely dedicated and friendly and doing their best. The food in the proprietary restaurant is ok, though limited and not changing in 5 days. The entire property looks somewhat abandoned.  There are far better beach hotels and ressorts for the same money in Brazil than this one, thus do not get into this trap!

Instead of leaving a review about LFdG, I want to leave a thank you to the staff, and the community of Atins. We are nothing without you all. This means all of the people we don’t see, all of the men that are taming the land, the infrastructure that makes any of this possible at all. There are at least a dozen see right now as I lay by the pool, who are working on the property, having to stop every 20 minutes to shoo away wild donkeys. I saw quite a few guests complain and it pissed me off because it is such a giant feat just to have running water here, let alone WiFi, even if it is spotty. This hotel is immaculate in the way that it is so beautifully furnished, yet we are coexisting with the elements (and the bugs). It could so easily be overlooked how gorgeous this place is, because of how effortless it appears. But from the lamp shades, to the pool chairs and patios, it is all artwork. So I give a big thank you to the carpenters and whoever that probably travelled hundreds of miles to even get it here, where I am sitting right now. We should not be here, but we are so lucky that we are. I must start a new paragraph to properly pay tribute to the food here. Oh my god the food. Again, just as with the hotel, the food is so effortless, some might not even notice. Also, a majority of the other guests here right now are from France, and they get this fresh and perfectly simple food all the time. But I hope they are enjoying it as much as I am. To make simple food taste like it is fine dining takes work. Like the filet mignon, cooked perfectly medium-rare, with whole roasted onion, garlic, squash, potatoes, and pesto with fresh greens. It took a gardener who bakes in the heat all day, and loves the plants like they are his children. And who also takes time to talk to the guests like my husband and I for 30 minutes, teaching and tasting with us. It also takes a kitchen of 5 ladies whose exposed kitchen is like looking into their heart. I don’t think anyone taught them to cook, no one can teach that kind of talent. I have run out of words to say because it left me completely speechless. So on to the staff that we do see, who give us all of their energy. Thank you for being the face of all of our little questions and issues, for connecting all of the dots to make our trip possible. Recharge on your days off because you deserve it - you deserve more sunsets in the dunes than we do. If you’ve only skimmed through this review, let me end on a very important point I’ve subtly mentioned: do not expect this hotel to be like any other hotel you have been to in the world. Do not expect for a car to pick you up at the ferry the moment you reach shore. We waited for 45 minutes after 10 hours of travel from Jericoacoara, but that’s better than not getting to come here at all. Do not expect a mini-bar, no not expect the hotel to give you every convenience you can think of, like simply being able to flush toilet paper. Your only expectation should be that you are getting to stay in the nicest possible place in Atins, or really, in all of northern Brazil. And that not all things are possible when you are in an untouched land. If you are the kind of person than can’t let go of things they “need” don’t bother coming to Atins/ Lençóis. If you are the kind of person that wants to see what the birds see, do everything you can to get here immediately.
