La Ferme de Georges boasts a location that excites intrepid explorers and urban escapists alike. The property is right next to a sprawling 1,500-square-kilometer area of dunes that recently earned its status as a national park. Shaded by cashew trees, our swimming pool is the perfect spot to unwind, cool down and enjoy a fresh caipirinha from the bar. The goodness of nature is at the heart of the La Ferme de Georges’ concept. The restaurant is dedicated to serving fresh Brazilian cuisine that has been sourced from the property’s organic gardens. Built on a hilly 2 acres, our white-walled lodges were created from local wood, brick, and straw, designed to harness cool breezes for natural ventilation. The lodges are separated by swathes of greenery, dissolving the boundaries between inside and out.

Every time we go to Atins, the village at the edge of the dune park, we stay at this wonderful, magical hotel - La Ferme. We love everything about it. The beauty, service, nicest staff and managers, high quality delicious food and the strong connection to nature. The grounds are full of charm and romance in a special and free spirited way. The place allows full privacy but you always meet there interesting people. It is both tranquil and passionate at the same time. Really great refreshing pool area (especially used when my children 26,24 come along), awsome bar with best coctails and different caipirinhas which is great when we come with friends. We stayed in all the rooms. The Tree House is breathtaking, something out of a movie scene, but it's best for a family or 2 couples. My favorite room for a couple is Dune house no. 3. Always dreaming of coming back. Love, love this hotel.

We spent 5 nights in this amazing resort located in the small village of Atins. The villa was spacious and comfortable with a very nice bathroom. There was enough space between each villa which gave us privacy and still be able to be surrounded by nature. The cocktails at the bar were just outstanding and the food choices at the restaurant were really tasty and gastronomic. Always using vegetables and salad from their own garden. The breakfast was really good too. We highly appreciated the kindness of the staff and were always happy to help if needed. Special thanks to Frédérique from the bar/restaurant and to Douglas at the reception who gave us right away all the necessary information to enjoy our stay to the most at this resort. We can only highly recommend La Ferme de Georges if you are looking for an authentic resort located in the nature and really perfect to discover the national Park of Lençóis. We will cherish great memories from our trip there!

I spent 3 nights at La Ferme de Georges on a kitesurf trip to Brazil and really enjoyed my stay. Comfortable, eco-friendly, and nicely decorated, the hotel is the ideal place to enjoy Atins and the Lençois Maranhenses. My bungalow (Dende), actually more a small villa, was spacious and well appointed despite the absence of a coffee machine. It could have easily accommodated 4 or 5 persons. The veranda offered a good space to sit and relax. Service was efficient and friendly. Noticing upon arrival that there was nothing to hang the wet kite equipment, I asked for a rope that was promptly installed. The restaurant, the bar, and the pool are located across a sandy street (like all streets in Atins), but very close to the bungalows/villas. The food was very good, relying on fresh products and even showing a touch of originality like the coloured tapiocas at breakfast. I have no hesitation to strongly recommend La Ferme de Georges for a stay in Atins.

We were there 4 days for our honeymoon and we were so so disappointed my god. No hot water (they said they won’t be able to fix it because it’s linked with solar panel - FYI we were in the middle of the jungle in an hotel with solar panel and it was working perfectly), the water of the swimming was disgusting (never cleaned) and the employees who work in the restaurant so unprofessional and disrespectful. You don’t charge the price you charge for this level of prestation. Such a shame.

La Ferme de Georges was on my wishlist for a couple of years, but Atins isn’t easy to get, and finding the right season to visit the Lençois Maranhenses not easy to combine with busy agendas, but we made it, and I don’t regret at all! The best thing of Atins is definitely the location close to the national park. The Lençois are stunning, just wonderful and definitely worth every hour of the journey and every euro (or real) spent. The day tour recommended by La Ferme was fantastic! La Ferme however needs some improvement, I would say. It is pricey (2.250 R$ or approx. 430 € per night), but I wouldn’t mind the price if the rest follows. Communication prior to arrival wasn’t easy, and reminder after reminder to get answers and confirmations was a bit cumbersome, but I would have forgotten it easily. Upon arrival we were greeted very kindly by one of the staff with a full explanation of the concept of the hotel, and basically a list of excuses for all that could go wrong. I fully get that Atins is very remote and delivery of goods is difficult. And that’s not the problem. La Ferme is missing soul, flavour, personality... Staff was friendly, but wasn’t going the extra mile and smile… service was good, but for the price I would expect better… not even some free water in the room or mosquito repellent (basic in all high standard pousadas across the country)… The hotel was full of (only?) French tourists, with kids playing at the pool, that was partly under construction (in high season??)… WiFi was very poor, while in other locations in Atins we picked much better signal… There was no one to be seen for overall responsibility (manager) of the place, greeting customers and asking for some feedback, which is crucial to keep up high standards. Overall La Ferme is good, beautifully designed and very well kept, but it is definitely overpriced for what you get. With other boutique options popping up in Atins, I wouldn’t stay there again. If you plan to go to Atins, have a look around before booking…

Beautiful setting, very welcoming staff and delicious dining. I have to mention and specially thank the hospitality of Amanda, Gaston, Leticia, and the Chef, although everybody were very helpful. Cons: No a/c. Since I knew that before hand, I don't complain. Overall it is a wonderful place to stay. Tour recommendations: Lagoa Bonita, Santo Amaro and Guarás Sanctuary.

La Ferme de George’s… where do we start? The name sure sounds like a fancy French hotel. You would think being owned and managed by French people, that they would inherit some French hospitality and service! But is managed by Argentinians ….. The trip to Atins is really long, no matter where you’re coming from, even if you’re coming from Brazil or São Luis! After traveling for over 20 hours from the United States, you would expect the hotel to comfort you with a warm welcome and quick check in service, but instead they hold you up in the scorching hot open reception area to do a welcome lecture about the property for over 30 minutes! We chose to travel by private helicopter and because we did not organize it through them, they refused to arrange transfers from and to the helipad! We have local connections that wanted to invite us to do excursions with them and the hotel refused to at least organize our car transfers, so we had to do everything on our own, from organizing our dunes excursions to beach activities, cars, helicopters and everything else! Don’t get me wrong, Atins and Lençois are INCREDIBLE and are worth visiting no matter what. We had an incredible experience thanks to local friends of ours from maranhão who came along just to show us around as this hotel does not offer you any of these exclusive services or experiences.. we basically had to hire and outside personal concierge that took care of every detail of the trip (her name is Nadna. Everyone knows her there and we highly recommend her)! As far as the hotel itself.. let’s start with how expensive it is and how they take forever to reply to anything (pre booking and during the trip). They pride themselves on being “the best hotel in Atins. They are obviously delusional and have no clue what good service is! They actually warn you upon arrival that Atins is a small town and to expect everything to be slow! Haha.. The reality is that they are slow, not everywhere around Atins! Small things as simple as ordering coconut water takes 30-40 minutes to arrive warm! 🤯 The hotel ground is very pretty and has nice landscapes and pool but the rooms are simply disgusting… There’s a huge difference between ecological and DIRTY! They claim to be ecological which is great, but when you pride yourself to be the best, the least you can do is to provide clean rooms… but how can you have a clean room when the room is designed to with an open ceiling wood concept? You walk into the room and it’s INFESTED with mosquitoes, bugs and frogs! It’s IMPOSSIBLE to get rid of them because the bungalows are designed with gaps on the walls and ceiling, so they can come in easily! It was so hot and muggy inside the room and they obviously have no AC… again, they claim to be eco friendly but use heavy chemical inspects spray! They only give you one towel that they expect you to use the whole stay. Everything from the towels and bed linens were dirty and uncomfortable mattress and pillows! The worst thing that happened during the stay was our documents, money and medications being destroyed from the rain entering through the ceiling and the sides of the wall… we had our luggage and documents on the small bed and desk against the wall, so when we returned home our documents, medications money and all our clothes were soaking wet. We had to rush and pack to leave so when we arrived to our next destination, our clothes smelled like horrible musk and developed a bad odor from being wet in a closed suitcase! Bottom line, this hotel is terrible. Bad service, dirty and rude unprofessional staff! I would never go back there again, neither would I ever recommend it to anyone! They should be ashamed of themselves for being so unprofessional and for charging such high prices for these disgusting dirty rooms! FYI; I never write hotel reviews but I had to for this one because they almost ruined my entire trip and that’s UNACCEPTABLE!!

Although the hotel is rustic and have no air conditioning, the staff made everything they could to make us feel welcome, and also they had the best tips for the tours and ride, and restaurants. Their natural plantation made the food excelent. they have a moto "everything will be alright" and seems it always does. It´s a very calm atmosphere to slow down, relax and enjoy the nature.
