The staff at this property are all great! They all go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. We made a last-minute booking and they were so accomodating and efficient. Chena huts by far have one of the most comfortable accommodations. Right from the bed to the dining area seating every detail is looked into. The property is in the middle of Yala Jungle and it's truly a safari experience. The food is outstanding! They have brilliant chefs who are extremely versatile. I celebrated my husband's birthday here and they catered such a cute candlelight dinner! They even gave us gifts. Every member from the GM to the chef is amazing. They are kind and friendly and truly deliver world-class service. I have already made my next booking for this property! It is a must-try I have stayed at a dozen hotels in Sri Lanka. This was on the top of the list of best stays/experiences ever. The staff was very hospitable and there for every need of mine.

Individual attention to each guest's requirements was unbelievable. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. What i personally enjoyed the most was when the small wild animals and birds peeped into my room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were simply the best. It was outstanding. An excellent gateway for nature lovers and for those who seek peace and tranquility.

My family (2 adults and 2 kids aged 5 and 3 years old) loved staying at Chena Huts for 7 nights - we would have loved to stay even longer. I cannot speak highly enough of the beautifully-appointed and well-maintained huts, the magnificent scenery and lovely staff. We appreciated that we always had the same server at the restaurant, the same safari guide and the same safari driver - all of them lovely people and highly skilled at their job. And in case of any hiccups, the general manager is easily available - we routinely saw him in the restaurant at breakfast or in reception from 2pm onwards. MEALS: I appreciated that I could contact reception face-to-face or via WhatsApp to pre-order specific meals outside the regular restaurant times - our children eat dinner at 6pm and breakfast at 7am, which are outside the usual restaurant times, but it was never an issue. Additionally, my 3yo follows a strict gluten-free diet and we could fully trust the kitchen to provide ample GF options - including delicious GF bread. ACTIVITIES: We did a daily safari as well as our safari guide took us on a short walk up to a temple dating from 200BC and he organized a morning at the beach for the kids to swim and slide down sand dunes. Our safari guide was highly skilled at tracking/finding animals and he maintains communications with other guides/drivers so he is aware of what's going on elsewhere in the park - for example, on a rainy day we planned to cancel safari; however the guide highly recommended we go out because there were only 6 vehicles in the park and there was signs of leopard activity. We did go out and we saw 2 leopards in the rain! On another occasion, the guide tracked the leopard himself via animal calls, footprints, etc.

Myself wife and our 12 year old decided to book this hotel after reading the very positive reviews and I must say that it lived upto the expectations. Although we stayed only one night the experience was far more different than what we had in other hotels. The meals were served with a personalised touch and the presention of each serving was exceptional. The room was quite large with all amneties and the private plunge pool was clean and well maintained. The only drawback was that there was no instructions posted on how to use the appliances like the bluetooth speaker and coffee maker. Any way we were not bothered about that as we had other interesting activities. The highlight of the stay was the safari arranged by the hotel. Nuwan was the ranger who accompanied us on the safari and he was very knowledgable. Because of his skill we could spot the usually elusive leapord twice!. The front office manager Kasun was very generous and he let us check out late and even arranged us a free lunch before driving back to Colombo which is a three and half our drive. The entire staff was very friendly and helpfull. We will definitely recommend this hotel to others.
