Travelers' Choice
Wild Coast is part of the Resplendent Ceylon “best of Sri Lanka” circuit, created by the family-owned Dilmah Tea Company. Three Relais & Chateaux resorts; Tea Trails, Cape Weligama & Wild Coast Tented Lodge, form an enchanting "Route de Bonheur (Happiness)" from tea fields to clifftop beach & safari lodge. Wild Coast Tented Lodge sits on a rugged beach on the edge of Yala National Park, where the jungle meets the Indian Ocean. 28 vaulted Cocoons & Urchin tents offer the comfort of a luxury hotel with the excitement of a raw wilderness experience. The open-air bamboo-clad Den and Dining Pavilion – designed to mirror the boulders scattered across the golden beach beyond – wrap around the free-form swimming pool. Guests can enjoy creative daily-changing menus of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and sundowner cocktails and picnics al fresco on the sand dunes, watching dusk settle over the Indian Ocean.

This was the first stop on our honeymoon trip, and my wife and I had a fabulous time. We were the only ones staying at the property, and it would have been easy for them to cut corners, but the property, the food and the service was excellent, and our expectations were definitely exceeded! We will have many fond memories of this trip, but the moonlight dinner on the sand dunes, the great park drives and sightings, and the cooking class will stand out. Special thanks to Chef Susantha, Eranda, Sameera, Lakmal, Akalanka amd Thilina for looking after us so well :)

Wild Coast Tented Lodge is paradise on earth. We had the most amazing stay. Breath taking scenic views. The staff was exemplary, they surpassed every expectation especially when they went out of there way to serve our dinner under the stars on the sand dunes. Special thanks to Sumedha & the restaurant staff. The food & beverages were outstanding . The cocoon pool suite was luxurious beyond words. I would like to specially mention Saranaga the ranger who took us within close proximity to leopards, a sloth bear, elephants etc. I would recommend this gorgeous place to all nature lovers who like to live luxuriously in the wild.

Undoubtedly one of the best place in Sri Lanka. What service. Irushan showed us the way all along and Ranger Sameera was amazing with the Safari's. Boys at the bar had some great cocktails and loved the way they work - Akalanka and Shehan. Eranda who was the f&b treated us extremely well. Can't wait to go here again.

We stayed at the Wild Coast Tented Lodge this weekend and it was a fantastic high standard experience. The property is located at a secluded coast with a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean next to forest and lake. The staff at the Lodge made us feel very welcome. They called us by name, smiling all the time and ever willing to provide any help or service or food/drinks requested. The gourmet chef cooked each and every meal and the taste is absolutely delighted our taste buds. Quality food, drinks, wine & cocktails are provided almost around the clock. The rooms are called cocoons. tent like structures with very authentic african safari looking furnitures, a fully copper bath tub (my first ever), copper pipings and an eco friendly air conditioning unit that cogens waste heat into hot water for showers. Wish they have a driver quarters so that our driver can rest and spend the night. We had dinner by the beach with oil lamps and the full moon lighting up the sea. Most romantic and our waiter Mr Dulesh served us meticulously and even took photos. I had my best every massage in Sri Lanka. The Balinese masseuse are very professional, skillful and having the right touches that unknots my tight aching muscles after 2 days of safari. We had a nature walk in the morning, our Nature Guide Ranger was very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna of the area explaing and spotting the animals that live there. Many thanks to the site Deputy Manager, Mr Jeewantha and all his super friendly team in making this a most memorable stay ever. The service given is second to none and will surely return to stay once the migratory birds starts to arrive to this part of Sri Lanka.
