Camping ground is set on a small meadow by the river and next to the guest parking. The biggest minus at the time of the visit was that there was only one toilet for the whole camping and only one shower working properly. There is a small kitchen with a gas stove and microwave where you can cook your own meals. There are few fireplaces on a camping ground. Prepare that nights might be pretty humid as the camping is next to the river. There is a Wi-Fi around the bar area but the bar is on a pretty steep hill so we didn't bother to climb there. Tip: go for an evening drink (BYO) and amazing stargazing to the Farino observation deck located next to the Mairie de Farino (2.7 km by car). This spot is also perfect for breakfast with tables set in the shade and an unbeatable view of the mountains and lagoon.

Refuge de Farino is at a very beautiful hillside amidst nature. The bungalows have their own balcony with a beautiful view on the valley. Bungalows are comfortable and cozy with a small kitchenette and beautiful hot water bath. It gets cold here in the night but blankets are provided. The owner is very attentive and helpful. A really nice place to stay in Farino.

Refuge de Farino has quirky rustic cabins in a lush forested area, which enables guests to enjoy complete tranquility. Our cabin had a good sized deck, where we sat and listened to the birds. It had a reasonably equipped kitchen where we prepared our own meals (the nearest shops and restaurants are at La Foa, more than 5 kms away.) The Refuge offered a simple breakfast, which we had each day we were there. It Is one of the closest places to the entrance to the Parc des Grandes Fougeres and you could walk direct from the Refuge to a waterfall. The only downside was the steep road from the Refuge's car park up to the cabins, but it was only about 50 metres long, so you could always drag luggage up from the car if you didn't like the look of it. Florence and staff were friendly and welcoming.

located along the edge of the mountains near the Big Tree Fern Park. As well as bungalows there is a nice grassy clearing on one side of the river with the other side covered in nice jungle with lots of native birds. There is a day shelter, kitchen camp with fridge, microwave and gas cook top. The single flushing toilet and hot shower can cause queues on the busier weekend but is sufficient in the week when the camping is a beautiful peaceful spot. Owners dont speak english so knowing some basic french to ask for camping etc will be useful

Stayed at the Refuge of Farino campsite while travelling around New Caledonia. On the positive side - friendly staff, great location alongside a creek, bar, wifi, lots of games etc to borrow. On the negative side - and this is really a plea for staff to improve things the camping side of the accommodation seems very neglected. A single toilet stall and a single shower with a broken curtain (shared by 8 parties of tents when we were there). Did not seem to be cleaned at all during our stay. The Refuge's dogs used the camping area as their toilet and while they were friendly, avoiding the poop was a bit of a challenge. Finally at around $30 per night this was our most expensive campsite in NC and not up to the standards of other places we stayed.
