I stayed here for 3 nights during the low season. The lodge during this time of year is very quiet, which made for the most amazing and peaceful idillic views of the waterfalls and the landscape. The lodge sits on the edge of a cliff, directly adjacent to the largest of the 3 Sipi waterfalls. Perhaps more impressive was the view down the slope of Mount Elgon towards the lakes. The lodge itself seems to blend right into the cliffside. Well placed trees and other flora add to the scenery and natural feel without blocking the view. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, especially Cleo and Milton, and the head guide, Steve Martin was very responsive via email when booking. The bandas are large, and have double and a single bed. The mattress was comfortable and they provide large blankets. It gets cold at night! The only downside was that the floor of the banda was covered with a woven mat which tended to be a little dusty (the lodge does provide sandals for walking around the room). Each is outfitted with a shower with hot water, and flush toilet. There are also some smaller rooms for travelers on a budget, which each contain a bunk bed. The restrooms and showers for these are in adjacent buildings. Those restrooms are outfitted with well maintained pit toilets with no noticeable smell. The meals were delicious, a mix of foreign and local cuisines. There is no a la carte menu, but the staff made sure to account for any dietary restrictions. The lodge helps you schedule various activities, either through the lodge guide, or with other businesses. The best part of the stay was definitely the views, and being so close to the waterfall that you could fall asleep to the white noise each night.

We were traveling with a rooftop tent, unfortunately there is no place to set it up, so make sure you bring a movable tent. Otherwise the staff was very friendly and helpful and accommodated us in a simple room. Facilities were simple but clean with hot showers. There is space to cook for yourself but think about it as the food of the lodge is delicious. From the grounds you have a look at the fall. Just be aware that you need to be able to walk quite a few stairs.

We spent two nights in a banda at Lacam lodge. I was flabbergasted by the great view (particularly nice at sunset). Accomodations were very comfortable. Breakfast was good but other meals were really overpriced and disappointing. Otherwise service was very good, and they organize nice visits (coffee tour, walk to the falls...)

It's a nice place. Feels a bit run down at times. The food part is a bit strange - a four course meal, which is not really four courses, just one main plate with a few side dishes. Going down to the falls is incredible though, I would recommend using William as a guide +2567788123919. He charges 20K per person and is pretty flexible on what you can do - he enjoys it and knows a lot.

Stopped here for three days with family.... abseiled down waterfall, sunset walk, sunrise walk and waterfall walk with plunge pool to cool off. Got to see how coffee is made and met the local council members over a bucket of home brew. Food, service and accommodation all very good. Everyone very friendly. Would highly recommend to fellow travellers.....
