A friend and I rode the Cardinal Greenway trail in Sept, 2015. Unfortunately, the trail ends in Gaston and, long story short, we ended up horribly off-schedule and off-course. From the side of a country road at dusk, we pulled over and called John. I cannot begin to describe the relief we felt when he immediately offered to come pick... More

Staying at Burke Place is like staying with favorite family! Absolutely charming and welcoming home filled with hospitality, comfort and personality! Breakfasts were a delicious treat - I'm not a "morning person" and much less a breakfast eater, but our meals were worth getting up for! We were pampered, yet given our privacy. John and LeRoy are helpful, cordial, engaging... More

Yes that is what we were saying "A Cuckoo Clock really?" every hour on the hour when it woke us up all night long. Pros: Cons: Convienent location Noisy street Clean Cluttered Spacious room and bathroom Good value Great food Leroy’s a little quirky (we didn’t need to know that there are no hidden cameras in the room) but really... If the guest had said something about the Cuckoo Clock, we would have been happy to stop the Cuckoo's hourly sound. This is the only guest in 16 years to have a problem with the Cuckoo Clock or the traffic sound. The guest must be extremely sensitive to sounds or just looking for something to complain about. When taken to... More

Enjoyed my stay at the Burke Place B&B immensely. The hosts are personable, attentive, and gracious, yet they didn't hover. The house is full of beautiful antique pieces and the breakfast was quite good and very filling. LeRoy was kind enough to ask about dietary preferences and prepared a meal to my taste, certainly above and beyond. All the rooms... More

Burke Place is the best!! We stay there every Sept. while attending the James Dean festivities. John and LeRoy are like family, we couldn't be treated any better. The full hot breakfast every morning is GREAT and the rooms are cozy, just like home. The entire house is a treat!! The best value you'll find anywhere. Oh, did I mention... More
