I will preface this with saying all business owners have the right to run their business any way they desire. Beautiful home but disappointed & offended. The first night was fine, though we felt a bit awkward learning the owner's room was across the hall from ours! We used extreme care tip toeing in & out and whispering so as... More

Shirley is one of those people who never met a stranger, so not only is she a great hostess, she knows an amazing amount about the places to go and people to see in the lovely historic river town of Madison. More breakfast than we could eat and happily modified for dietary constraints. As a historic property, it is not... More

We booked a room in the middle of the room and had the place to ourselves with the exception of our lovely hostess, Shirley. The place was beautifully furnished, quiet, the veranda an excellent place to sit and relax. One of the most relaxing trips we have ever had.

My wife and I loved this place. There were no other guests and we were truly spoiled. We had a great room, the Victorian Room. That room and the rest of the common area were like an antique store. So much to see, so little time. The porch off our room on the second floor was a wonderful escape from... More

We stayed at this bed and breakfast for two nights and it was wonderful. Shirley was an excellent hostess and her home is clean and beautiful. A delicious, homemade breakfast was served each morning and snacks were available throughout the day. Clifty Falls is beautiful and the town of Madison is quaint and full of restaurants and fun shops. We... More

My husband and I stayed a weekend at the Azalea Manor for my birthday. The location is great - a short walk to the main shopping and restaurants. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The breakfast was good - waffles one morning and western omelette the other. It was warm enough in March to enjoy the gorgeous 2nd floor porch. It's... More

Our two night stay at Azalea Manor was absolutely wonderful! The National Historic Register home is beautiful, combining modern amenities with the elegance of the antebellum architecture and amazing antiques. Shirley, the owner, welcomed us into her home with the graciousness of a friend. She offered information and suggestions for restaurants, shopping and sights to see during what was our... More

Based on the amounts of glowing reviews tossed in with a few very negative ones, I'm thinking this place must be hit or miss and mostly depends on what you are looking for. The location itself is fantastic and Madison is an old fashioned town, perfect for a quiet few days. The Manor is a lovely house and the gardens... More
