Yesterday my brother stopped by at 11am to see about rates, closed sign on door, tried calling later that day and no answer just voicemail. Called again today to simple ask for information to give my brother, he is a truck driver so I couldn't give him the number to call since he was driving, explained that to Tom and was rudely informed he doesn't just let anyone move in here, he has to come met me first it's like getting an apartment. Even though he has been in business for 40 years you shouldn't speak to people like that who are just trying to help someone out, I wasnt going to book a room just get information but he wouldn't give me any. Gave me the address and demanded my brother come talk to him. I worked for hotels for 12 years in my past and every other hotel or motel I call I've never been spoken to like that. Even if you call someone who is renting a place or an apartment complex they always give you the information you ask for. Very disrespectful would not recommend this place to anyone!

Just drive right on by. If you stop and ask to check the place out, damn sure don't do it while Jeopardy is on TV. Scary stuff. We stopped in because it was easy access off the highway. There was only one other guest there, looked like a tweeker, but for whatever reason the guy running the place had to put us right next to his room. When I asked for a more private area, he got really pissy and smart-assed, but finally said ok. The TV was from 1983, the AC was about 1960s. I laid down on the bed and tried to relax and felt what seemed like bugs biting on my ankles. The who thing was just off, so I told him we were checking out and to just keep the $54 we paid. He list his s#@t and told us to just get the hell out if there and started insulting us. Pretty creepy situation really. Do yourself a favor and just drive a little further into town. Just don't stop here for the love of God.

After driving a long day, we spotted this RV park from the interstate and found the office closed after hours. We picked an empty site and set up our motorhome. The following morning, I went to the office and met the owner who welcomed us. The campground is well maintained and has full hookups. The surroundings are beautiful and quiet. We decided to spend 3 days to rest and I had an opportunity to spend some time with Tom, the owner. We shared our interest in vintage cars & trucks and he showed me his collection. I found Tom to be very personable and I enjoyed his company. I finished our trip and wanted to leave a review and was shocked at some of the posts. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I found the owner to be a great host. I guess some people just have to complain about anything. Yes, the office does close after hours as he is the one managing it. Call before closing to make reservations at the campground and you won't be disappointed with your stay.

We stayed here 2 weeks ago on our way out west. I had called two weeks prior to make a reservation. (not needed based on the sites available). We were shocked at the hospitality of the RV park owner/caregiver. At first, the man seemed kind and sociable. He told us where our site was and we proceeded to it. It was a bit confusing how to pull in to the site without clear directions from signs or the owner. To our bewilderment, the owner/caregiver came out SCREAMING profanities at us telling us we were going the wrong way and he could drive our GOD D____ vehicle better than we could......all the while I am trying to calm my husband and him. There were several other obscenities mentioned by the owner/caregiver. We have stayed in campgrounds for 35 plus years and have never experienced such awful hospitality among the owner. We can now see why this place had few RV's. We will never stay here again. I was scared to stay the night, not sure what this man might do to us and our RV since he seemed to be so set off by our simple mistake which he could have made right by showing us to the campsite and driving us the "way he wanted us to go." We follow rules well when explained. There may have been something else going on with this man that we are not aware of.

I called and made reservations for a 2 night stay. He had 1 room left. He told us to be there by 6 pm I called and left a message at 5 pm that we would be there at 6:15 but to please save our room. Got there at 6:13 no one around, called and went right to voice mail. Knocked on the door several times with no answer. Luckily we found Travelodge in LaPorte.
