We booked this via the BA sale (so was heavily discounted). The hotel is nice albeit dated in places with some damage to skirting boards/carpet/walls etc (ie next to the lift on the first floor someone had chipped into the wall and the plaster stayed on the floor for our entire visit). Our room was directly above the piano bar so by the end of the 10 days we knew the performance sheet by heart but it wasn’t that bad they did stop at 10pm sharp each night. Hotel is quiet, staff are friendly and the food honestly I couldn’t find fault with (10 nights and we only ate from the buffet for dinner once). Spa was lovely and my massage was dreamy. the rooftop martini bar seems a bit random as it was just a pop up bar with some plastic table and chairs but the view was nice? resort seems very popular with americans (who for europeans get very very loud as the day goes on and the more they drink) at points it was deafening to be seated near to a party of 6 at dinner the free tours are great as is the shuttle between couples san souchi for a change of scenery. the gardens surrounding the hotel are beautiful staff were incredibly friendly and pleasant - shout out to shaka, travis and renae. if we were to do all inclusive again we’d be inclined to visit a couples resort again but we’ve decided for our early/mid 30s we’re not at the all inclusive pace of life yet. Also I wouldn’t overly agree with this being a 5 star but it might be different between american and europe.

So as this is my 7th trip to Jamaica I will keep it very blunt and honest. I am posting this and have 4 days left here We came for 12 full nights and I must say there were some pros and cons of the resort. First we will start with the pros Pros: 24 hour food you will never go hungry and the food is relatively good all around Snorkeling, Glass Bottom Boat, parasailing, kayaking is all free and included in your stay Top shelf liquor is available like Tito’s and Grey Goose but you have to ask for it just like any bar. The beach is plush sand (some seaweed about 10-15 feet into the water but when it’s choppy forget going to the beach it’s full of seaweed and they don’t have people cleaning it all that often) Nice ring nets in the ocean it was cool to be on them. Restaurants are updated aesthetically except for the main buffet but it’s not terrible. Everything is really close to one another Clean pools and 2 hot tubs Beach and pool waiters readily available Jerk chicken is on point Free return Covid test which most places aren’t offering Au Natural Island appears to be freeing and fun for many guest Eight Rivers was quite slow but worth the wait for the food the escargot and crab cakes are a must! I love that the workers are allowed to eat in the normal dining areas and not forced in the back rooms Best part was definitely Craigon Piano Sing A long and the bartenders in there, definitely the highlight of the resort Cons The rooms are awfully small this is the first resort in Jamaica I have been to where the rooms are this out of date and small, like when I am brushing my teeth and my wife is sitting on the toilet we touch legs. The tub is not big enough for two to even shower and we are skinny like super skinny! they need to be renovated BADLY like 1970’s bad and like I said I’ve been to Jamaica 7 times and this was actually the most I’ve paid to stay in Jamaica and expected more. We were in a Deluxe ocean room as the other rooms were booked, these rooms should be $250 a night tops for an all inclusive resort in Jamaica in the current economic state of the country. My wife has an overly sensitive stomach and got sick the first day she believed it to be the water because all they have is filtered water from the coke machine…. I had to beg for bottles of water and finally 6 days in I went into town and just bought a case $13 for 24 bottles mind you because it was like pulling teeth to get it! I get they don’t want the bottles ending up in the ocean but they offer bottles of coke so I don’t understand it logistically. I asked for 6 towels because my wife has middle eastern hair she has to use a towel for her hair every time she takes a shower. She said she could only give me 3….. I took some off the cart later that night. Room service just avoid it unless you’re trying to wait an hour it doesn’t matter what time of day, I spoke to a host about it and he said they have 1 runner and they refuse to hire more, 1 runner for 400+ rooms….. at $405 a night per room they are just being cheap! Lawn chairs around the pool are missing paint everywhere on them which this is being nit picky but every resort I’ve been to on the island doesn’t have this issue and they have people painting all the time every trip keeping things fresh. Even the waterfall in the main pool needs to be repainted The bayside restaurant looks like the wood is bowing out and falling off and needs to be repainted severely again it’s lacking it being an aesthetically appealing 5 star resort. The mattress had a topper on it which was highly uncomfortable and cheap, we had them remove it and you could see divots in both sides of the bed but even that was still better than the mattress topper. These mattresses are at least 10 years old given the design and stitching, this place needs serious TLC. You may not even notice though if you’re drunk all the time you might sleep just fine The floating Mats on the chairs for the pool and ocean certainly are in need of replacement, although a nice gesture many are ripped and pealing. The curtains in the rooms are not thick therefor they don’t block out much light and ours were heavily stained which is attached in the photos They aren’t supposed to take tips which I believe is wrong and their logic behind it is ridiculous because this is the only resort I’ve been to with a strict no tipping policy (they don’t get paid well enough for the service they provide and how much the resort charges, tips are not included) Key tip: ask for pina colada with no milk so it doesn’t come from the pre blended machine Shanice was an amazing bartender along with Michael and Junior Chinardo or “Chin” in the coffee shop is by far the best drink maker Olenga (probably spelled wrong) he was sincere and genuine above and beyond

We had the best holiday in years. The food was really good, staff very good. Entertainment during the day and evening was first class. Yes the rooms are dated but the entire hotel and ground were kept very clean and maintained. Special shout out to Junior and Shannice…Shannice is such a great bar maid. One downside, film of sunscreen on top of the water in the swim up pool. Not the hotels fault but the transfer to and from Kingston airport along with the chaos at Kingston airport will ensure that we would never fly via Kingston again. Really good, friendly and well organised hotel. We will return as soon as possible from Montego Bay

We booked this and travelled within 2 months and normally within that time I would have talked myself out of 'somewhere new', I'm so glad I didn't. The room was lovely, nice balcony size, perfectly clean and tidied daily. The staff who look after the rooms are brilliant. They come round to clean, restock the bar and if they went later on in the day would leave a night lamp on for us returning. The staff who do all the room changes, maintenance and cleaning all work to the highest of standards. Within the room is the comfiest bed, efficient air con and beautiful views! We were in building 2. The check in and out process was fine, make sure you check with the staff on the day before for the time they will collect luggage and what time the sad bus comes. The island! I was a little dubious but all for giving it a go and we went over before the 9am cut off to scope out if we were going to go. The next day we went and 'hid' ourselves on the left hand side of the island. Within about 30 minutes I needed a drink and thought nothing of walking to the right side and getting a drink. There is nothing seedy or sexual about it. It was liberating and one of the most amazing environments I've ever been in. The bar was well used and all other visitors were friendly and chatty, but not too in your face. Conway, the barman was fab and kept us topped up with liquid feeds. He makes an amazing June plum and Bob Marley. The staff who come to the island were lovely too, maybe a little bit better at understanding American accents to our British one but added to the fun. There is no pressure to go or stay when you get there, but we went and were both so so glad we did. The atmosphere is chilled, relaxed and you are literally on a tropical island in the Caribbean. Do it, at least once its the best. The boats go back and forth all day so there's not long to wait to go or come back. Food! Bayside - incredible food, quick service and staff who will literally refill.ypur glass before you even notice its low. The food is out of this world and tastes amazing. Tip: take some indigestion tablets. The food is beautiful but very rich and the shop is extortionate for any supplies such as pepto bismol etc. We went here 2x as there was a space. Check with guest services if you want a repeat booking, they're helpful. 8 rivers- wow, the room, atmosphere and food were better than the pictures give credit for. The menu was difficult to choose from but we opted for the fillet steak. Cooked professionally and just a shame we could go only once during the week Verandah - lovely food, again, the staff really put effort in to keep the service flowing. Main hall - one of the only things I really had an issue with. The breakfasts were lovely and plenty of choice but on an evening it was not 5* and was poor in choice, flavour and variety. Stand out staff in the food hall was Joel who remembered me several days in a row and made an effort to ask how my day had been. Joel was really stand out as a lot of the dining hall staff had a generic 'you're welcome' response to every comment. Top points to Joel!! Pool grill- most underrated place ever!! Its not just a pool grill, it is decent food and served quickly. You can get this for takeaway too. Handy to take over the island if your going later in the day. Stand out place of rhe week is the coffee shop/cake. Every single member of staff in here was lovely. However, there was one stand out guy from the minute we went to the minute we were leaving. Chinardo - I asked before we left to leave a comment so I hope the praise we have for this man does get fed back to him. He makes a mean latte for starters, my husbands mega fussy so it's a compliment in itself. On our first night I was desperate for some water and asked if there was anywhere I could get some. He tried a few places and really went above and beyond to get me a bottle of water when we had travelled over 20 hours and needed some tablets. I know this might sound like a standard thing, a staff member serving a drink, but it was more than that and it continued all week. He remembered our names, asked and checked in with us when we popped in and he is honestly such a credit to this establishment! He will go far and his can do attitude, welcoming manner and communication skills are all outstanding. He really brightened each visit. If you pop in the coffee bar and see him say hi from us! So down side: There isn't really a downside but a few things what are unacceptable (my opinion) The shop: Products aren't just 'overpriced', they are an actual insult. I needed indigestion tablets and other small items what would be a dollar in other shops being charged $10 for smaller items and less product. There is no excuse at all for this. Yes, it's a convenience to go there however it's an insult to all guests charging them rhat amount for items they may urgently need. The staff in the shop on the few visits we had were not as friendly as the staff in the hotel and more lile the office staff who also appear less approachable. Also, don't feel obliged to pay for any of the paid fishing trips. We were asked all the time to the point we were advised a time and to try it for cheap. We didn't go but that harassment feeling wasn't great everytime we left. I wish I could remember other names of the fab people who work there but the week passed in a blur. Eat, drink and make friends. We met a few lovely couples who we will keep in touch with. Hopefully we will be back soon 🧡🇯🇲💙

Honestly, where do we start? We visited Couples Tower Isle (CTI) April/May 2022 for our Honeymoon and it was the best holiday we have ever been on. The hotel thinks of everything from spirits in your room to all inclusive excursions but what makes this hotel stand above all the rest is the staff. They were absolutely phenomenal and no task was too big or small. Lots of them remembered your name which was a lovely touch, constantly refilling your water glasses when empty - sometimes before you even knew it was empty and making sure you had the best possible holiday. What I really love about the resort is that they all do this without any need for a tip. The hotel has quite a strict “No Tipping” policy as they believe that everyone should be on the same level and no one should get any extra service just because they have tipped. Food was some of the best and freshest food we have ever had at an All Inclusive and they chefs were always lovely and welcoming. The Pool Grill seemed to be a lot of peoples favourite as who doesn’t like a burger and chips by the pool. Our favourite was Eight Rivers (A La Carte) All included, you just need to book either using the app or Guest Services. Seven Courses and the food was amazing, it felt like a Michelin star restaurant or something. Only couple of negatives we had for the trip was that we felt Guest Services were possibly the least approachable of all the staff and when we asked any questions, they seemed quite put out by it. Not all of them but the majority. We were also a little disappointed that they made a big deal about other guests on their Honeymoon but we seemed to be overlooked. Not that it ruined our holiday or anything, but as we will never get this experience again, to hear that all other Honeymoons received a handwritten card to their room inviting them to the Honeymooners drinks, Cheese and Biscuits, a bottle of Champagne and a couples massage. The reason we were disappointed was that I emailed ahead a month or so before to inform them and we were told they would make a note of it, we also informed them on check in. We did receive the massage, but only because we asked for it, we were unaware of these other factors until it was too late, as the Honeymooners drinks were a day before we left. However, back to the great stuff! They have a Cat Cafe and Parrots in the Garden. The Parrots do say “Hello” and “Goodbye” but only once and then you will spend the rest of your holiday trying to get them to do it again lol. The included excursions are great to do too, particularly the Dunns River Falls. TOP TIP - don’t take anything with you! And if you take towels, leave them on the bus. Whatever you take with you off the bus, you have to carry up the falls and it’s gonna get wet. As you leave you walk through the market and “Everything is FREE” - IT IS NOT! DON’T TAKE ANYTHING FROM THE VENDORS UNLESS YOU ARE BUYING IT! Just carry on walking unless you are genuinely interested. Big Staff Shout Outs Ahjay in the restaurant was brilliant and considering he is still quite new, it seemed like he had been doing it for years. Lamon in Eight Rivers was so Professional and you could see why he was working in the Top Restaurant. Gordon Ramsey will snap him up! Nasheca at the Bayside was great! She actually wasn’t our first server, but when she took poorly, Nasheca stepped in halfway through and was brilliant. Romario, who seemed to work most nights in the Club, was amazing too. He was very complimentary on both mine and my wifes perfumes and from then he became our best friend. Great Cocktail making skills too. Finally to Chinardo, well what a great asset to CTU you have here. Such a genuinely lovely guy. He usually works in the on site Coffee Shop and was such a pleasure to talk to. He wanted to ask so many questions about the UK and actually made us feel even more proud of where we come from. Well Done Brother! All in all, what a great Hotel. We have joined the Rewards Scheme so we will be back!

The hotel is clean but dated, the rooms are spacious and the cleaning is thorough, we also enjoyed the food which was excellent and the hygiene standards were superb. Most of the staff were delightful. The negatives are that the staff favour the Americans over the Brits in the bar areas they are always served first and we are ignored they would get a second round before we got our first. We were treated like British Royalty i.e. snubbed and ignored. To top this off we were insulted at the Bayview Restaurant by one of the staff we had no interaction with the member of staff beforehand but she took an instant dislike to us and made personal remarks about our physical appearance throughout the meal until we had had enough and had no option but to leave, we reported this to management and although they apologised and met with us, it spoilt the remainder of our holiday and we asked for an explanation for these remarks and nothing has been forthcoming from the management. This is sold as a couples resort but it is not, it was full of groups of American parties all having a great time but at the expense of the peace and quiet of other residents, we expected it to be more couples orientated it felt more like two weeks in Benidorm. So if you want to be ignored insulted and go to a party hotel this is the place for you. In future we will be holidaying in France where at least you expect to be insulted and they do it with class.

My partner and I took our first major vacation together and went to Couples Tower Isle in Ocho Rios. I can say that as a gay couple we felt very welcomed. The staff were friendly and courteous. We had no trouble getting drinks at the bar or tables when it was time to eat. The only time we were questioned is when we were heading to the au natural island together-we were told that there were no singles allowed. But once we told the boat driver that we were a couple, we were happily on our way. Even at the au natural island we felt accepted by the other couples there and the staff. I know one or two times there was a double take and a whisper between couples, but that’s where it ended. Nothing was ever said directly to us, and the whispering and looks did not continue on. The only time that we felt that we were possibly discriminated against as a gay couple was with the resort photographer. We were at dinner three nights by ourselves and he never came to our table to take a picture. Now considering that my partner hates to have his picture taken and in 12 years I think we have a total of five pictures of the two of us together, it did save us from having to turn him down, so we really didn’t mind. The night that we ate at the Bayside restaurant with a straight couple was the only night we got our picture taken, and I’m glad we did because it came out great. But when we went on the excursion to Dunns River Falls, the photographer/videographer treated us as he did all of the other couples, except for asking us to give a kiss in a picture. Again though, we personally did not mind that at all as we are not into PDA. I hope more gay couples read reviews like this and take a chance on Couples Resorts. We were the only gay couple there, and for the first three days and then the last two days there were two different female couples there, One much younger than us and one much older than us. We definitely plan to visit other Couples Resorts.

Thank you Jamaica 🇯🇲! So, this is the FIRST time we have EVER repeated a resort since our all-inclusive travels began in 2007. This was for my husband's 45th, and our 1st travel since 2019. We received a plate of cookies and Champagne for my husband's birthday and enjoyed a beautiful week in Jamaica. I don't feel the need to review the resort as a whole because Couples has maintained the quality and nostalgia of this iconic flagship resort. We stayed in block 4 with a beautiful unobstructed view of the ocean and The Island. I will however try to list all the staff that made our 7 night stay fabulous and just how we remembered it from 2014. Thank you to all! Kudos to our shuttle driver upon arrival in some unbelievable traffic. And to our driver upon departure for making a special potty break for me after the scheduled pit-stop. Romario thank you for the minibar set up late on our arrival and the basics tour, Emorth and Tahj thank you for baggage help, thanks to Jessica at the front desk and Paulette at guest services. Christine and Taydeen at the spa easily the best massages we've had in 5 years. Love the resident parrots up by the spa area too! I could hardly keep track of everyone's name at the restaurants but hopefully I got most of them...Garfield @ Eight Rivers and everywhere; lunch and breakfast!...Gracias you are awesome, Oneil, Sashari, Leonardo, Francine, and Juneil at breakfast, Phelecia (sp ?) at the coffee bar, Nasheca @ Eight Rivers...amazing, Fidel at Verandah thank you, and at Bayside thank you to Ormando and Dorian. We had room service several times and it was quick and delicious. Thank you to all the staff at the bars! Kerry Ann you are a much needed dose of humor in this crazy world, Racquel, Conrad, Antoinette (thanks for the advice on the Napoleon!), and Shannace thanks for the humor as well. Thank you Bryan at the piano bar for the several nights of service and helping to bring in all the birthday celebrations in style! And, Easter in Jamaica...so much fun! Thank you Damien for taking us on the Hobie and to all your coworkers who manned the catamaran and Rum punch on a potentially stormy afternoon...but ended with a beautiful rainbow and no rain! And also Akme (sp ?), loved chatting with you and thanks for the Almond tree education! Can't wait to return to Couples again in the future!

It is so unfortunate that I have to travel to this resort with staff being homophobic against other staff members telling the guests about someone's sexual orientation try to lure them again others. I was so disappointed in Romario from the lounge bar who try to bash one of the entertainment staff by telling us to avoid the individual because he is gay while the young man was doing a good job getting all the guests involved at the nightly lounge. For that I dont think I will be returning to this hotel because I believe love is love and no one should really care who you love. Apart from that I had a wonderful time the food was exceptional, I would definitely recommend you go to the swim up bar to see Melissa she knows good service and also the lovely entertainment team hats off to a job well done.

My husband and I traveled to CTI along with 10 other couples for a wedding anniversary. I am conflicted about the 4/5 rating. I want to rate it more because I loved it but some things left a bit to be desired. The food was, without question, the best resort food I’ve ever had. Even the buffet food was good. But, a few things were disappointing. The catch of the day is always snapper. Sure COTD sounds exciting, but it’s a bit silly to have it listed as COTD and not just snapper. Two of the three times I ordered steak medium, it was so rare it looked like it had only been seared for a minute on each side. This could use a little consistency. One of the people with us prefers their steak rare and wasn’t willing to eat it as rare as it was served. The bar service was painfully slow. And it’s a little frustrating that the bartender will take your order but then take their time continuing to load or unload a dish tray, often times not even acknowledging that they heard you order. I’ve been to Jamaica 8 times. The Island Time is strong here, and it surpassed the point of charming and understandable to frustrating and sometimes rude. We enjoyed a tuna cleaned and cooked fresh that one of our friends caught that day, it was incredible. By the end of our nine days we did have some favorites. Antoinette, Nicholas, Tajh and Kari-Ann. Grab yourself a Wisconsin Special in the Coffee Shop. This resort is not friendly to the mobility challenged. There are three routes from one end to the other and they all require stairs, some require sand too. Buildings on the north end are three floors but do not have elevators so if you’re challenged, let them know in advance. I enjoyed the spa services but found they often started late but always ended on time. Despite having bathtubs with sprayers in some rooms, we had to walk through the common area wrapped in a towel to the locker rooms to shower off the mud or scrub-that was not cool! Then back to the spa room, through the common waiting area, wrapped in a towel to finish the service. This takes away from the relaxing enjoyable feel I’d expect from an expensive service. We had a spa villa and although we signed up for certain services, I found they just gave us the basic service. I signed up for two different facials and they are both exactly the same. We signed up for the four hand deluxe massage and just got a regular two hand massage. When we paid as much as we did for the room package, I’d like to get the service I am requesting. And if they aren’t available, a conversation would have been nice. Instead we were just scheduled for whatever and found out after the service started we weren’t getting what we asked for.
