My family spent two weeks at the wonderful Manta Raya in February. I cannot cannot recommend it more highly. It’s located on a gorgeous, unspoiled beach where generally the only other people are your fellow guests at the hotel. It takes 10 minute of driving down a twisty, remote dirt road which dumps you right on the beach in order to reach the hotel. The travelers were primarily adults. However, we were a family of four (2 adults, one toddler and one infant). We could not have been made to feel more welcome. From supplying us with soccer balls to helping me outfit a cabana with a large sheer to keep my baby properly shades, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We had a great time chatting with Fernanda, Reto, and the entire staff. The hotel is close enough to some sights (various beaches, Huatulco, mezcal tastings) to supply easy exploration access but removed enough to truly unwind. MWe’ve traveled all extensively around the globe and, to me, Manta Raya is quite special. You wooo not regret staying here while exploring this beautiful part of the world.

The beach and the waters of the Pacific are beautiful, warm and inviting. The scenery from our balcony was just magnificent. But let's get to the food and hospitality. Reto (the owner}, Freia (the manager) and the staff are superb hosts by making sure our stay was wonderful, and it was. On to the food... I'm not a foodie, but I could become one if we had stayed there any longer. The first night we had freshly caught tuna for dinner, and I don't eat tuna unless it comes out of a can! It was wonderful! Lunch was just as good with fresh guacamole and pico de gallo. Of course all meals are served with a view of the ocean, which adds to the enchantment. We will be back, and I can't wait. Oh... and rent a car and drive around to the villages of Mazunte, Zipolite and Puerto Angel (Reto will provide a map). They, too, have beautiful beaches , but not like the private on at Manta Raya!

My second time back here. I know Mexico well, after 10 years of living here. This spot is outstanding, mainly due to the staff that is fantastic in every way, but also because it’s off the beaten track, you have everything you need just steps away, the location is really privileged and unspoiled. Loved the food, loved the comfort, the cocktails Fernanda made were outstanding, best Tuna i had in ages; just a stay all around full of highlights every day! Thanks to the whole team from kitchen, garden, housekeeping and of course Reto, the exceptional host.

I am in love with Manta Raya hotel! It’s like asking for a private beach with personal chefs and amazing service. We were there Feb 27 to March 3, and everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. Reto and Fernanda and the entire staff were so friendly and welcoming and extremely helpful to make our stay comfortable. I went with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and this was seriously one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. So many times, we had the entire beach to ourselves! It truly is a beautiful and breathtaking location. The water is a little rough, but there are areas on the beach, specially on the western end, where rocks break the surf so you can enjoy. This was also amazing water. Warmer than Cancun and so clean. The view from our room is EXACTLY like the pictures. You can see the amazing views from bed. And the food? Absolutely delicious!! I’m a picky eater. It’s almost a joke that I can never find anything I like at all inclusive resorts. But there is no comparison here. It’s not food made for large crowds. It’s delicious food made in the moment for you. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious. And the desserts were amazing, and made by Reto’s father. The chocolate mousse was unreal. I’m not a big seafood eater, and every meal had an option for me. And the open air restaurant with the amazing views made for leisurely meals every time. I honestly cannot say enough about this hotel. Do not pass up the opportunity to taste the fresh homemade bread and jams at breakfast!! The beds were surprisingly comfortable... firmer than what I am used too and I slept well. The only issue was slow running water in the shower but it was the dry season so completely understandable that water pressure was low. I hope to return sometime soon. We did take a hike up the mountain ridge to see another beautiful beach, and had lunch at a new open air restaurant there, which was nice. We took one evening out to see downtown Huatulco and a public beach there. I could have skipped that, in retrospect haha. No comparison to Salchi beach and Manta Raya. Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay so wonderful. I hope to return and see you all again!

Had a wonderful time at the Manta Raya Hotel for 8 nights. Reto was so welcoming & has exceptional staff. Pick up at the airport was also there. The Hotel is perfect if you need a quiet & restful place & appreciate a great view & gourmet food. It was a personal experience to stay there as we got to know all the friendly & helpful staff & we felt so safe. The room was so clean & spacious, had a very comfortable bed, great shower & included a kitchenette & a breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean. Had opportunities to do local day excursions to Huatulco, Beaches & Snorkelling, Coffee Bean Plantation, a Lagoon & Markets. We would love to return & we certainly recommend this this place to appreciate true authentic Mexico & enjoy a wonderful holiday!! Thank You so much!!
