Great food, cracking atmosphere, good people. All that you want in a village pub. Top job!! Not stayed but rooms seem great, and compared to other pubs in the area it wins hands down on all counts. A family affair which counts for plenty, they know.

I have used this hotel for nine years now. As a mobile engineer and a frequent visitor to the area, there is nowhere better to stay. The staff and locals are a friendly and inviting bunch of people. For a one night stay or a base for more than one night I would highly recommend The Swan

we celebrated my mothers birthday tonight and always feel very welcome here as they always go that extra mile - bringing out cake and decorating the table - great hospitality and great food and staff, nice clean village pub and hotel

A useful pub to remember when travelling on the A34. Easy, quick access from the dual carriageway. Friendly efficient service, good pub fare with well kept beers. Much nicer than a service area! Food was freshly prepared, wholesome and value for money. Sorry, cannot comment on staying as we used it for a refreshment break. However, did look okay.

The Swan Hotel is an excellent place to stay if you are exploring The Ridgeway. It is run by very friendly people who seem to enjoy what they are doing. The beer is well kept and the food is good too (particularly the cooked breakfasts). It is located in the centre of a well kept village which is within easy... More

Stayed for one night yesterday. Great staff - warm and friendly. Clean comfortable room, we wished we'd had longer to stay but nonetheless will be back. Breakfast was superb and not rushed at all. Dinner the night we arrived was relaxed with great food and company.

Found this on the internet, when searching for places to eat on our journey from Cheshire to Portsmouth. The Sunday lunch carvery didn't disappoint. There was a great selection of lovely vegetables plus two choices of meat - perfectly cooked. This was followed by a good selection of puddings. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Great value - will... More

We often call in at The Swan on our way to and from the Portsmouth-St Malo Ferry. The restaurant is fairly light and large with a generous bar area. We have eaten off the main menu but prefer to snack usually on Scampi or Goujons with chips - the chips are yummy. If looking for just a tea or coffee... More

We wanted to break our journey from Cheshire to Southampton and the Swan proved ideal- just off the A34. We were warmly greeted by the owner, and received a room upgrade to a large room with all the amenities we required. We enjoyed generous portions of very tasty food in the evening, and an amazing breakfast next morning. Everyone on... More

We were on a journey south from Staffordshire at about lunchtime on the A34 wondering whether to continue home or take a break somewhere when we saw a sign marked for this pub. A quick decision was made and we decided to stop. It was fairly busy and we did find it cold without seemingly any heating and many people... More
