Couple - stayed as guests for 2 evenings PRO: - beautiful view towards Piatra Secuiului mountain (+ marked hiking trail to 1150m altitude summit) - hotel bikes which you can take and ride nearby - Rimetea UNESCO village nearby (old special village) - breakfast is good - spatious room (not good in winter though, only 1 average radiator for a 13sqm room) CONS: - IMPORTANT: in the weekends the 3 parking zones, all full - have to park on the street, where you can and if you can; - IMPORTANT: also in the weekends, the place either hosts private events or a lot of people from Alba Iulia or Cluj Napoca are coming just to have lunch/dinner - so in this case it is very busy and nosy during this time - no room refrigerator, no supports for clothes or towels in bathroom - overpriced for what it offers - no wheelchair accessible paths towards restaurant and hotel rooms - not all windows have fly nets, only the bath one - at first the floor looked like parquet but it's actually linoleum Others: For 60€/night is way to overpriced and marketed for what it offers in terms of hosting guests. I'd say it better on the restaurant part, but the prices are pretty high there as well. …
We visited Torockó in early July on a Monday. Since there were no restaurants on location, we were recommended this place in the next village. So there we went... and we were told the restaurant is closed for visiting clients ON MONDAYS!!! Well, I have to admit it never happened to me in the last 20+ years on 4 continents and virtually hundreds of restaurants to be refused for the reason that Mondays tourists are not welcome. They had the restaurant open only for the sleeping guests. In such a place, I would say tourists are not welcome in general, and they should be aware about it. So if you have a choice, teach them a lesson! Avoid the place, especially on Mondays!
We stopped here for an early dinner at the end of our tour. We did have a reservation do we didn't run into any issues. It's a beautiful place with a very nice view. Limited English but the menu does have English translation below every dish. Good service and delicious Hungarian food. I highly recommend it!
oh my goodness if i could give this place 10 stars i would. It is situated sooooo perfectly in a little country town right at the foot of the most pictures mountain we have seen. We ha e seen a lot of mountains in theselast 2 months....but this one just takes your breath away. The gardens around the hotel and restaurants are just an amazing way to just sit, or walk and take in the beautiful view. you can also walk to the mountain and climb it if your more adventurous. Either way the connection to nature is just amazing here and my goodness does it stand as a most wonderful witness to God's glory for His creation. Then you go in the restaurant and tge "wows" don't stop. The restaurant is very traditional and the food is just Amazing.Very fresh and tasty. the waiters are really nice as well and the place very very clean. We were to the restaurant the 1st time and then we just had to book at least a one night stay there. so we had 2 days and 1 night at that place....and it wasn't enough! if we ever go back to Romania...this is the 1st place I'm going back to.…
We've spent two nights in Conacul Secuiesc and it was a great experience. The mansion is beautiful with lovely decorations & painted wooden furniture. It sits on with a beautiful domain, with a big lawn where you can sit or have a walk, a pound with fish, trees and flowers. It is at a pleasant walking distance to the ruins of the Trascau stronghold and a great place to spend a night if you're transiting or looking to hike in Trascau mountains. Our rooms were in the main building, very nice and cozy and with amazing morning views. There are other rooms available as well in other building of the domain, yet I am not aware of them. The staff has been polite & friendly, they have accommodated immediately any request. Food was quite good, we enjoyed the traditional food at breakfast. We've also had dinner at the restaurant and it was quite nice. All in all a great place, highly recommended.…
