The house was beautiful and my room was adequate. I had the smallest room which was at the top of the house. It was very cozy. My room had a full kitchen as it was most likely an apartment at one time. The single bed had some dank sheets on it. They were clean but seemed very old. My welcome...

This was my first stay at a B&B and my first trip to Indy. I feel lucky to have chosen the Stone Soup Inn! My partner and I enjoyed the quaint accommodations of the NE Loft. We were surprised that the room had a full kitchen! I wish we could have stayed longer and put it to use. I enjoyed...

We found this place using our GPS as we drove into town, looking for a place near some friends' house. What a discovery! The Inn is close to downtown, a lovely old home with a shady, landscaped yard with water feature and a wraparound front porch and balcony with comfy seating. Our room was large and comfortable and nicely appointed...

We love the Stone Soup Inn. The first time we came it was a lovely surprise. It really feels like a home away from home, rather than a hotel. The innkeeper recognizes us and is always pleased to see us. We love meeting new people at breakfast, everything is always clean and the lofts offer lots of privacy with a...

My second visit to the Stone Soup Inn. The staff are very friendly and the service was great. Very conveniently located close to downtown in a leafy historic neighborhood. My room was spacious and comfortable and had free wi-fi!!!! I would definitely recommend the Stone Soup Inn to other travelers. I'll be back next time I'm in Indy! :)

Such a feeling of home at the Stone Soup Inn. The staff is friendly and very accomodating. I have spent ~20 nights there and it has changed business travel for me. It is so nice to find a "home away from home". Some of the highlights are that there is a fireplace in the living room, multiple porches with comfortable...

Deceitful advertising, confirmed booking at the Looking Glass Inn. Transferred me to another one of 'their' properties with no apology, then tried to hold me hostage for more money to get the 'similar' room I booked. The general manager was aggressive, denied any responsibility for the booking agent, and tried to escalate the situation to a confrontational level. The obvious...

I chose The Stone Soup Inn for it's price and convenience to downtown. We were in town for a wedding and saved a lot of money by staying at the Inn.The rooms start at $85 a night and it is only about 2 miles from downtown. We saved money not having to pay for hotel parking and the price included...

Where do I start? The week before Thanksgiving I called The Stone Soup Inn and booked a loft room with a private bath for three nights. I gave them a cc to hold the room, and they said they would take out half the cost, which I agreed to. So far so good, right? After a couple of days I...

A really wonderful experience! A quiet, pleasant place to stay, and very cost-effective. Very clean, well-maintained, and quaint. Located in the Old Northside of Indianapolis, 2 miles from Downtown, in a very quiet, tree-lined neighborhood of historic homes. The house has primarily an Arts & Crafts motif, and has extensive collection of antique furniture, most of which is very functional...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We look to welcome new visitors to our city and have created a warm, friendly environment - a home away from home - where travelers can relax by a fire, share their experiences and sleep in comfort. Located in the heart of the historic Old Northside, the Stone Soup Inn offers all the beauty and comfort of an upscale turn of the century home. After stepping into the large foyer, relax by the baby grand piano in the living room or cuddle up with a good book in our library. All of these rooms contain beautifully detailed woodwork and hardwood floors. Breakfast will be served in our distinctive dining room or, weather permitting, on the large, wraparound porch. On the second floor, share stories with other guests in the sitting room or outside on the spacious balcony overlooking the front garden and Lilly pond. Decorated with a combination of Mission-style and Victorian-era antiques, guests will find a comfortable, convenient place to stay as they explore nearby historic sites and downtown attractions. ... more   less
