This review is long overdue. We stayed at Stone Soup this past October for the second time. It's a relatively nice place though parts of it could use some dusting/cleaning, especially the outside area. The rooms are fairly nice though you may not get a comfortable bed (lofts). There are a few things, however, that were just not up to...

We stayed for two nights while visiting family that live within the block. This was my first stay at a b&b. The place is loaded with charm, great decorating and ambience. Great location very convenient to Mass Ave. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed in the SW Loft, great space for two with its own shower/bathroom. If not for...

My spouse and I have been staying at this B&B for a number of years. Our favorite room was booked so we stayed in the Garden Room. Like other reviewers have noted, the stairs to the room are challenging. Fortunately my spouse and I are relatively young. We were able to navigate them even without hand rails. If you have...

They clearly put some love into remodeling this place. While a lot of the furniture and fixtures are more classic (read antiquely) the place still felt clean! Outdoor space was great for sipping some wine and the staff was very responsive. Make sure to use amenities at the affiliated Villa if you have the chance. Pay attention when booking- some...

An old pocket of the city -- big trees, gorgeous houses -- right next to the thriving Arts District (full of galleries, restaurants, very happening scene) and not far from downtown. The Inn itself is architecturally impressive, and the mission-style furnishings are extraordinary. All the usual comforts, but a sense of style that is rare. Can't wait to return.

We stayed in the Garden Room, which is spacious, and has a full kitchen if you need it (full size fridge, stove, double sink). However, the steps down to it are hazardous (it's in the basement). The steps are very steep, shallow, and have high risers, and there is no hand rail. Very difficult to negotiate with luggage (or even...

This was me and my boyfriend's first B&B experience and we couldn't be happier! Comfortable, clean & had character. It was extremely affordable and would recommend it to anyone! We only stayed one night passing through but it was in close distance to restaurants and Mass Ave.

Beautifully decorated with comfortable rooms. A pleasant host and delicious breakfast. Convenient location to downtown from this charming neighborhood. Be advised that nearby trains can be heard from rooms.

My husband and I stayed here after a concert in downtown Indy. The loft room we had was very cute, clean and comfy. The walk to the concert was not bad at all. I would stay here again. I agree with some of the other customers about the look of the manager. He wasn't exactly dressed to impress. We missed...

Stayed in one of the loft rooms for 3 nights. The room was comfortable. Neat loft area for bedroom. Also had kitchen and dining area. Hot breakfast on Sunday was stellar. Tom the innkeeper was great and very accommodating. Location was close to downtown and active nightlife. We will definitely be back!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We look to welcome new visitors to our city and have created a warm, friendly environment - a home away from home - where travelers can relax by a fire, share their experiences and sleep in comfort. Located in the heart of the historic Old Northside, the Stone Soup Inn offers all the beauty and comfort of an upscale turn of the century home. After stepping into the large foyer, relax by the baby grand piano in the living room or cuddle up with a good book in our library. All of these rooms contain beautifully detailed woodwork and hardwood floors. Breakfast will be served in our distinctive dining room or, weather permitting, on the large, wraparound porch. On the second floor, share stories with other guests in the sitting room or outside on the spacious balcony overlooking the front garden and Lilly pond. Decorated with a combination of Mission-style and Victorian-era antiques, guests will find a comfortable, convenient place to stay as they explore nearby historic sites and downtown attractions. ... more   less
