We booked a city view room, we could only see a parking garage, but that didn't really bother me. They had no valet or anyone to help with bags, but that didn't really bother me. I had to park across the street and the doors from the garage were locked and my room key would gain me access to the building forcing me to go back down and around the building to gain entrance, but that didn't really bother me. Before we left the room for the day, we hung the door hanger that clearly states we request our room to be serviced only to see it was still hanging on the door and we did not get fresh towels or coffee. I called down to the front desk to have an arrogant, self righteous guy condescendingly inform me that it was our fault for not informing the front desk and offered nothing to try to make it right and accommodate us, now that bothered me. I became angry and he immediately hung up on me, yeah that bothered me, too. I went down very early the next morning to get coffee and when the girl asked how I was doing, I explained my frustration to her. Although she was not rude like the guy the night before, she was still unconcerned and again made excuses. Needless to say, we won't be back.

I'm sure the trendy will rave about this hotel, but we came away unimpressed. First, the sign on the door said to ring the bell (Covid-19 precautions) but no one answered it. I didn't think to try the left-hand door since the right one was locked. However, it was

Very clean, great customer, and a really nice facility. The bed was comfortable. The room had a very nice bathroom. I love the shower head and mirror. The hotel felt very welcoming and homey. I’ll definitely be staying there my next trip to Indianapolis.

The Alexander is always our go to when we need a room in downtown Indy. It doubles as an art gallery! Beautiful art everywhere! The lobby bar has really good cocktails too. The staff is always great. 😊

I live 2 hours away from Indianapolis but as recent transplant to Ohio, I had never been. My fiance and I decided to take a last minute road trip there for his birthday and booked The Alexander because we wanted to stay some where nice, but modern. The Alexander did not disappoint on either front. Their COVID precautions meant that the restaurant and bar had limited hours but we were out dining at the many different "off-campus" eateries, so this didn't bother us. It was also rainy while we there, so we wouldn't have enjoyed their open-air rooftop bar anyway! The hotel is close to the downtown locations we had on our itinerary, the furthest being the Newfields Art Museum and Children's Museum which were only like a 10 minute drive away! As far as the hotel's amenities, we booked the California King room and the bed and pillows were SO COMFY. I also loved the rain head shower and Aveda shampoos + body wash that came in fullsize pump bottles (not tiny bottles). The artwork around the hotel is something to take in as well. It's super impressive. I would stay here again. I was really surprised at how much Indy had to offer and the Alexander feels like a NYC-level hotel. We will be back.
