The hotel is beautiful and very conveniently located, but it's not worth the total price you're going to pay to stay here. We stayed here with a group on a group rate of $118.00 a night. We stayed for three nights and the hotel bill was $420.00, that means we paid almost $70.00 in taxes and fees about 20% of our bill. This doesn't include the outrageous valet parking rates as high as $42.00 a day if you want long-term parking with in and out privileges. Not to mention the housekeeping team skipped our room after the first night so my partner and I had to wait in the lobby for almost an hour after we returned to the hotel late that afternoon while they cleaned it for us. No offer of a beverage, a meal, discounted parking, or room rate for the hassle.

The Alexander is billed as a boutique hotel. It is not a high-rise place like the JW, Conrad or Hilton, but it is quite excellent. Despite some minor glitches with the A/C in the hallways, the property itself was quite nice. Very many examples of intriguing artwork throughout including a separate gallery space on the first floor. Quiet, lovely and a good value. Like nearly all downtown hotels parking is high (45-49/day), but the valet service was quite speedy. All of the staff were friendly, competent and polite.

The Alexander is a very beautiful hotel with a unique ambiance. It is close to everything downtown. The food is excellent! We were there for my daughter's wedding rehearsal, which was lovely. The staff was extremely accommodating!

Dominic at The Alexander was knowledgeable, smart, warm, funny, and personable. I felt valued, cared for, and comfortable asking for any help I needed. In addition, conversations with him were less like charming small talk and more like actual friendship!

This hotel was a beautiful contemporary hotel! Great location for our downtown events. It had a great bar with a patio with great hours. For breakfast, there was a Market restaurant that looked wonderful on the ground level. We happen to try Yolk which was right next to the Market. Yolk was phenomenall in every way. The staff at the hotel was courteous, professional and truly made our stay better.
