Clean and comfortable and rooms come with a mini-fridge and microwave. Staff is always friendly. Walking distance to good places to eat in town. Nice place to stay. Minor negatives: HVAC fan was a little loud in the room. I adjusted the thermostat so it wouldn't come on and off so often and it was better. Conversations of guests in the hallway were also kind of loud, but they didn't last long. I think there might just be space at the bottom of the door, and being near the stairs where people are coming in and out might just catch more traffic and noise. Awakened by construction noise outside early in the morning because there was construction out back on a building next door, but that wouldn't be a common occurrence, and it wouldn't keep me from coming back here to stay. The best part: Got a call from the hotel about a notebook they found in the room after we had left. I don't know the last time I had a hotel call me about something we left behind; really impressive. Great service and they truly care about their guests.…
Planned a retreat for about 50 women at The Inn at DePauw which was held in February 2020. This has been held at this location annually for several years. Each year the evaluations returned by the attendees give high ratings to the stay at the hotel. The staff is so helpful and easy to work with. It is truly one of the draws for women to come and participate in the retreat!
We spent Thanksgiving night at the Inn. We were able to check in early when we arrived in Greencastle. The front desk person was very helpful and informative. Our room was very nice, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was spotless and spacious. We had the buffet breakfast the next morning; it was very good. All the staff we encountered was so polite and helpful. We'll definitely be back when visiting friends in the area!
We had a delightful stay at the Inn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean and well appointed. The room had a quaintness about it despite the modern appliances, including the tv. WiFi was fast. Service at breakfast was quick and cordial. We would gladly stay here again!
Everything is relative and if you’ve been to Greencastle, it’s an excellent example. The rooms shown in the TripAdvisor photos are barely “very good” but they are clean and comfortable. The bed was fine as were the pillows. The bathroom was roomy enough. The shower grouting was getting tired. Shower pressure wasn’t like home but was better than many other hotels. No turn back service but that’s ok in my book. The front desk staff gets mixed reviews. Our arrival person was very professional. It seemed that throughout our stay they had a number of different people. One person gave the impression that it was the last place she wanted to be. A day after we left I called because I left something in the room. The woman who answered the phone seemed clueless about what to do and eventually told me she’d have housekeeping call me. My sense is that the hotel management is outsourced by DePauw so it’s probably not easy to control the personnel. I think the room rate is fine and worth it, given what else is available in the area.…
