WE booked the guest house for our daughter's wedding. We are from Pittsburgh PA and the wedding was in her fiance's hometown of Carmel Indiana. We wanted accomodations that made her feel like she was at home and not a hotel setting. We rented the 9 room guest house for ourselves and several family members and bridesmaids. Everyone LOVED IT as much as we did! The owners were so accomodating and we really felt like we were at home! The breakfast served everyday and brunch we had the day after was excellent! Couldn't have been more pleased.

My daughter and her fiancé stayed at the Guest House in September for five nights. They were visiting me from Las Angeles. They absolutely loved the farm like setting with it's own barn. It was a totally different environment then what they experience in LA. I had a chance to see the room and the grounds. The room was nice decorated, comfortable with it's own bath. All of the rooms, I learned later have their own bathrooms. They told me the breakfast in the morning was incredible and the hospitality of the owners was warm and inviting. They liked it so much that they are staying again over Christmas this year. Highly recommend!

Our one night stay was delightful. The room was comfortable and the substantial breakfast was scrumptious. The historic house is located directly across the street from the Conner Prairie. It was very relaxing to sit outside and read. It was easy to book online and timely emails told us all we needed to know. We’ll be back!

If you are a business traveler or if there is any chance that your plans might change, stay away. They are completely inflexible. In today’s world with so many options, you should stay where the owners understand that things change, and they want you happy. Being a small business is not an excuse for poor customer service, particularly in the hospitality business.

After traveling all day, I arrived around 9:00 in the evening. There is no one on premise to greet guests in the evening and no one answers the phone after 4PM and they apparently do not listen to messages until it is convenient for them. There is no way to reach anyone. The next day they returned my calls and shared that they expected me the next day. Probably my bad but I would have loved to have spent the night there if someone had been on site or answering a call. I had no choice but to find another place to stay that night.

I understand them keeping the deposit, but they refused to refund my payment because I had not canceled 8 days in advance.

They are quick to say that they strive to give each guest a pleasant experience, but they do not back that up. They rank as the least customer friendly, inflexible business I may have ever worked with. After trying multiple times to get them to refund my payment, they pointed me to their rules and refused.

My daughter and I spent one night in a room on the second floor. While I felt the room was clean, the bathroom had peeling wallpaper and the bottom of the tub was worn. My biggest complaint was how unbearably warm the room was. Check in is 3:00 and when I called at 4:12 to say how uncomfortable we were, I received a message that the phone was not answered after 4:00. I left a message but nothing was done about the temperature. It was at least 75 in the room at 11:00 and we did not have a good night’s sleep at all. We did manage to partially open one window, but it did not help. The next morning the owner apologized, but when you spend a good amount of money I believe you deserve to be comfortable—not miserable while you are there. I will probably not return.

My wife and I generally prefer B&Bs to hotels so this was an easy booking in some respects. What surprised us was how beautiful the property is, how comfortable it is, how well maintained it is, how good the breakfasts are, and how friendly owners John and Karen are. This is the standard by which five star B&Bs are evaluated but which few achieve.

If you plan to visit Conner Prairie, just across the road, you can’t find a more convenient place to stay as well. Highly recommended.

TIP: If you will be arriving at night, suggest you book by phone. Booking through their website works, but currently does not result in the automatic email instructions you need for self-check in.

I stayed here two nights with my husband this past month and loved how relaxed it made us feel. We were able to enjoy the place and kick back without having to find a breakfast spot. The grounds are beautiful, our room was perfect and cozy, and the breakfast was great too! The owners make you feel at home. Definitely coming back again when we travel.

Such a pleasant experience to enjoy Karen & John's hospitality that complements their wonderful property! A delightful oasis just north of Indianapolis, you forget how close to the city you are. Breakfasts were delicious, the room appointments lovely, bed comfortable, the gardens beautiful. Easy to park, to relax, to chat with others if you like or enjoy privacy. Easy access to a variety of outdoor adventures, dining, shopping, concerts. Will definitely return next time I'm passing through!

My husband and I traveled to Fishers to visit family and watch some youth baseball with our nephews and nieces. This was our second stay at the Prairie Guest House and it was as we remembered. Our room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. Our host John could not have been more accommodating. Highly recommend!

Stayed here with my son to see The Fab Four at Symphony on the Prairie. The accommodations were great and the owners were more than accommodating. Great location for lots of things in the area. Why stay in a hotel when you have this option. You won't be disappointed. Beautiful location.
