Visited The Sherman for a weekend getaway with friends. Was able to check in way earlier than normal. Room was lovely and service was excellent. Had drinks in the bar which was very nice. Brunch on Sunday was good food but very slow service. Otherwise great stay.

We started the evening in the bar, which is a very nice, modern venue with an extensive wine selection. The dining room, however, was part of the original (100 yr-old) hotel, so was more eclectic. The menu items were mostly German food, and I was expecting great Schnitzel.

Hi, thank you for being a dining guest at The Sherman which also has 22 beautifully renovated hotel rooms, a historic dining room, Black Forest Bar and Biergarten. You ate the Jaergerschnitzel which comes with a mushroom gravy. We are very sorry to hear that you didn't particularly care for it as the recipe is fresh out of Bavaria. We are delighted that most everything else, including (and we agree) our friendly and helpful staff went well. We hope to see you back and perhaps you'll give us another shot off the German side of the menu. Three stars really brings down the average, so maybe we'll be able to raise that to a 4 or 5 star during your next visit. We hope to get that chance.

The updates were done professionally and our room was very NICE! The restaurant and bar also were very nice and reasonable. Since it's a very old building they maintained that charm and closeness you get with a small historical hotel. We had a great two nights in downtown

The Sherman was recommended to us by a local business colleague as an alternative to the chain the hotel. I'm glad we chose to stay here. When we arrive here after a long day of sales call we walked into a lobby that was clearly from the 1940's. It made up a little nervous.

We stayed here 2 nights in January. The room (King bed) was spacious and comfortable and nicely updated. We took advantage of the specials they were running for January and February at the restaurant and bar-had breakfast and lunch and enjoyed both meals.
