My husband and I ended our whirlwind vacation with a weekend at the Royal Victorian Manor, and it was the perfect way to wind down and mentally prepare to return to our "real lives." The house is absolutely beautiful, tastefully decorated without clutter, impeccably clean, full of real wood (LOVED the hardwood floors throughout the house.) We loved the spacious,... More

This place is really nice! It is spotless! The rooms are fantastic, the breakfast was wonderful and the owners were so very kind! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for somewhere to stay at or near Woodstock, IL. I look forward to staying there again sometime!

The house was more than I could ever expect. So beautiful and clean. The owners Carla and Everton were friendly, helpful, and had great personalities! They were very helpful in giving us tips of where to eat and what to see in town which is a short walk from the house. The breakfast was lavish and amazing. Our room overlooked... More

I have a trip to Illinois coming up in July and was really excited at the prospect of staying at the inn featured in Groundhog Day. Their website has no booking facility so I sent an email well ahead of time in March. The swift reply said they only took booking 90 days from the date in question and that... More

This B&B would not need it's notoriety from the movie Groundhog day to be a success but it only adds to the character. The grounds and Inn are impeccably kept. The furnishings stand out. The Owners/Host's make sure everything is to your liking and entertained us with stories and information about the house, the town and of course the movie.... More

Known for its prominence in the movie Groundhog Day, the Royal Victorian should be equally recognized for its elegant but inviting atmosphere and the owners/hosts who made our stay memorable from start to finish. On a cold February weekend, they added warmth at every turn. This included help in arranging our visit to Woodstock, wonderful conversation about their restoration work... More

This Victorian house is beautifully restored and furnished. The request to take off our shoes in the house was unusual, but didn't bother me, as I tend to walk around my own house in my socks. Everything was spotlessly clean. The bed was very comfortable, with a firm mattress. The bed was quite high, and I had to sort of... More

Preface- I rambled on quite a bit here. I recommend LRK's 10/19/13 review for a shorter version of what I'm trying to express. I want to start with the positives. The house is beautiful, and kept sparklingly clean. We very much enjoyed the halloween decorations throughout the first level of the house. The town of Woodstock is lovely as well,... More

Wonderful stay. Incredibly gracious and interactive hosts without being overbearing. Excellent breakfast, fully decorated for Halloween, lavish furnishings and amenities, incredible gardens -- there is nothing lacking in this place. We were able to just stay one evening on a weekend (many B&Bs want you to stay more than one night, especially on a weekend). Don't ask the owners to... More

The place is beautiful and incredibly clean, the owners vey nice people. But we have stayed at many luxurious B&B's and never before encountered anything quite so uptight. The rules while strict were not a problem for us (you can't wear shoes, even on the wood floor; no drinking alcohol in your room, no food in your room, asked to... More
