We stayed and dined here for 2 nights. The pub is beautifully located down a quiet lane - however it is necessary to negotiate some very narrow lanes to find it. The effort is definitely worthwhile though. On first entering the pub it does give off an old fashioned vibe. However, the bed rooms are fully modernised and spacious -... More

Tucked down a side lane a little way along from Haytor is this quaint hotel. We had booked just for lunch, but a stay here would definitely be interesting. The staff were excellent and the food really delicious. We had used a Wowcher voucher which had saved us money - but we spent as much again just to have drinks,... More

We just enjoyed a wonderful night away at the Rock Inn. We enjoyed a truly scrumptious meal, accompanied by real ale and a wonderful cocktail, then slept in a comfy bed in the blissfully quiet countryside. The landlord and staff were all really welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend if you want to re-charge your batteries !!

Stayed for one night whilst passing through the area, four poster room, quirky and clean. Nice sitting area in the room as well. Very comfy bed. Food and staff excellent. Lovely breakfast too. Worth walking up to Haytor rocks - fantastic views. Will return soon.

Our family of six enjoyed a lovely, relaxing Sunday Lunch. The food was excellent, though the choice of Sunday Roast is limited, the day we visited it was Beef. That said, the rest of the menu is good (one of our party had the fish and chips and another the ploughmans lunch, both of which were excellent). Well worth a... More

We spent the night after our wedding at The Rock Inn. It couldn't be more wonderful. Amazing location, just beneath Haytor, so perfect for walking. We had dinner in the restaurant - which was Michelin Star class - before an excellent night's sleep in one of their poster-bed rooms. This is such a special place - bit pricey but you... More

Booked this hotel when looking for a resting place for a weekend in the area. What a pleasant surprise. Warm welcome, comfortable well appointed rooms and first class food. Special mention of the included breakfast which was excellent. No hesitation to stay again if in the area,

What a beautiful, quirky, old hotel/pub. We didn't eat, but the menu was extensive and the food looked delicious. When we visited it was Father's Day and the place was packed. There is no car park and everyone was parked up in the very narrow village street. Definitely a ' fold your mirrors in' job. This a beautiful, romantic, place.... More

Had a lovely lunch. Didn't go for the usual roast even though it was on the menu. Had fresh plaice with samphire. Beautifully done, finished off with lemon posset With lemon tart and lemon curd. Very tasty. Staff very good. Nice atmosphere, beautiful garden, parking is hit and miss as there is no pub parking and the pub is situated... More

The Rock Inn has for many years been an excellent restaurant. Not only is the food great but it has a lovely atmosphere and a really nice garden. Very good for ploughman lunches in the garden in summer and fantastic for a nice meal by the fire in the winter. Service is consistently brilliant.
