The Dinton Hermit has been closed since Christmas 2013. No idea if and when it will reopen. It was a nice restaurant when it was open, we got married there in 2007 and returned each year for our anniversary. The last couple of years the menu, food and service weren't quite as good. I hope it will reopen so we...

Had a rather odd stay here. Room was fine, warm, clean and comfy and meal was very good. But the pub appeared to be about to close? 2 weeks before Xmas on a Saturday night only 4 of us in the whole pub all night. No-one else staying either. No draft beer. Also no external lighting so took 2 phone...

The third time we have used the hotel in 14 months. The chef had been the manager on previous visits, warning bells ringing. The room as ever was fine, the bathroom extractor was still unserviceable. The food was not what you expect from a boutique hotel kitchen. Everything from the soup to the steak pie had been bought in, admittedly...

I booked this because my regular hotel had a wedding party and I didn't fancy the potential noise. Checked on Tripadvisor and off all the hotels in the area this came out tops. OK some visitors didn't get the experience they wanted/expected and I can understand that. But for me the room was comfortable, the TV worked, the Wi-fi worked....

We only stayed the one night and we stayed in the converted barn, opposite the pub. Staff very friendly and good service. The room was really clean, nice and modern and although the en-suite didn't have a bath, the shower was a good one and the en-suite was nice. The room is a little on the small side and the...

My partner and I stayed for just one night, really wish we could have stayed longer, everything about the place is charming. The rooms are clean and tastefully furnished/decorated, the staff are really lovely, the food is excellent and the chef more than rises to the challenge of different dietary requirements. Visit, you will not be disappointed :o)

I stayed at this hotel whilst in the area on business. The staff were welcoming and friendly on check in, I was allowed to check in early as my room was ready. My room was located opposite the main building in the converted barn, the room was small, but spotless and well appointed. Wooden floors in the bedroom and ceramic...

My husband and I stayed for one night in the Dinton Hermit with our 19 month old son. What a fantastic place! The staff were so accommodating (provided milk for our son's nightime and morning bottle), they also made sure we had a room in the main building (they have a number of rooms in the main building and a...

I have used this hotel a lot in the past 3 years, the last time was 3 months ago, I stopped here last night and found that Gemma is now is charge, it has a new chef, new menu, and seems brighter and lighter than before ( if that was possible). The greeting at reception was lovely, my room as...

Stayed here again on business, last week (23rd July, '13) and had a really nice stay. It's a very practical place especially for business travellers (it's in easy reach of Thame, Aylesbury etc;) with ample parking. They have (principally) two types of rooms: the barn rooms which are funnily enough in the barn (think low slung shed) which has been...
