Taking in account the relation to Price, value and convenient, it should deserve a 5 star rating. The rooms are small yes but have all the things a traveller needs. Shower- Bathroom, TV, in room coffee and a bed. Outside parking for your car also provided. There a couple of cool looking Pub's, restaurants on the same street and also... More

Booked a single room for one night. It was a stormy night which made the door rattle, but worse was the heavy rain that led to water dripping through the bathroom ceiling light. Added to that the fire alarm went off which the other guests claimed was a daily event. The hotel had to be called to come and switch... More

Stayed one night - accommodation ok but booked through booking.com and paid more than by booking direct with hotel. Welcome was mediocre, breakfast ok but in general ok for an overnight stay. Pub up the road - the volunteer very welcoming and definitely to recommend.

We had one night at the Old Lamb inn on the way to a funeral in Reading. The hotel was more like a motel in the mid west of USA. We parked our car right outside of our room. The room itself was compact but has everything we needed, It was clean, well equipped, well heated and pleasantly decorated and... More

Had a pleasant stay and excellent value with breakfast included but room was very basic. Small and no mode cons but it was a room with a bed and that's all I needed. Breakfast was also good and secure car parking at the rear.

This provides good value for money and the breakfast is freshly cooked to order. The room was not bad but wifi useless. The bathroom was well appointed and I got a good night's sleep. Customer service is lacking, when I handed back the key, all I got from the man receiving it was a dismissive'ta'. He might have thought about... More

Just spent another week in Reading on Business, I have stayed in a number of Hotels & B/B's in the area, the most prominant problems from my point of view have been Hotels overcharging guests for facilities, lack of parking withcity centre accomodation, unhelpful and rude staff. So it came as a refreshing change when I was told about this... More

Breakfast is superb. Rooms are OK, basic but I was pleased with it. This isnt a pub, its just a B&B pub part is now housing. The wireless internet is hopeless in the rooms, I couldnt use it. I stayed for a couple of months and managed to have internet work briefly once or twice. Staff are friendly, a little... More

First off, dont use booking.com, book direct with the hotel (B&B) I saved £20 per night. The hotel manager is lacking in social skills, the big shame is that he isn't a little more animated as he would make a great Basil Fawlty. The room..... Basic. Shower is good. My room was quite clean. The windows didn't fit properly so... More

after reading how nice our stay was going to be with a drink before dinner and lovely pictures of the bar, imagine how disapointed we were to find out the old lamb is only a b&b with no bar or dinner available. we were put in a purpose built block of rooms. the only time we went into the lovely...
