Booked a room for second visit back in April 2020 for a visit in early October. Cancelled booking early September 2020 as Curacao is not accepting US visitors. Lagun Blou is refusing to refund reservation even though there is free cancellation until October. They e-mailed me twice after cancellation trying to get me to rebook but when I told them I was not sure when I would be able to come back and I still wanted my refund they stopped responding. Having to challenge the charge on my credit card.

We've been traveling to Curacao for around 8 years now with at least one trip annually. We've stayed at several places, but find Lagun Blou to be be the best. Tom and Denise have always been hospitable and helpful whenever we go. The grounds are beautiful and they have a nice little store with sundries, alcohol, and food. We can get tanks and weights right at the office and we can dive the house reef with ease. We love Curacao because of the easy access to beautiful shore diving and friendly people that are generally welcoming to tourist. I won't travel to a place where they don't want me to be. Lagun itself is central to the West end of the island which has the best diving in our opinion. We can't wait to return as soon as the world returns to normal. Even if you don't dive Curacao has some of the most beautiful beaches that I've seen. You should see them too. It is a delightful place to rest and unwind.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Lagun. Our room had a beautiful ocean view that can be seen from both the upstairs and downstairs deck, beautiful birds and iguanas are frequently seen right outside. The owners have done an amazing job on the landscaping. The resort is set up perfectly for scuba diving with tanks available anytime and a very helpful scuba instructor ready to answer any questions, give advice or teach courses to all levels of divers. There are rinse tanks and outdoor showers as well as places to dry your gear. The house reef is one of the best on the island with a private staircase ocean entry steps from the rooms. I want to say thank you to the owners and friendly staff who made our vacation extra special (Tom, Denise, Alex and Farooq) we can't wait to return. You truly have a wonderful resort. Thank-you! Robin&Hugh

Tom was happy to show us around his beautifully landscaped resort. You can tell he loves Curacao, and this place. Felt very welcome. Views from property BEAUTIFUL and proximity to water (either ladder from resort or short walk around to Playa Lagun). Divemaster (Alex) and SCUBA equipment rental on site very convenient. Very quiet side of island (except for us 1st night couple in adjacent unit seemed to be arguing all night long & we could hear it ... THANKFULLY either they made up (or were too tired LOL) the next nights so enjoyed the peace and quiet again:)). Restaurant across Lagun was surprisingly very good (service slow), but not a lot of good restaurant choices (or groceries) nearby, so plan for cooking some fresh fish or a bit of a drive for food. Kitchen with all you would need. (no coffee provided, but sold some good local coffee in their small “store”) freezer with small ice cube maker, nice blender (maybe next time will bring something to use it:)) No plastic cups, so maybe bring couple to tote around outside without breakage worry. Drawers smelled a bit musty, but everything was clean. We had a bit of trouble finding right A/C temp at night, prefer to leave units open in Curacao, so did next couple nights and, with plug in fan on in room, found good temp (and although some mosquitoes, did not find them to be bad) upper deck and bedroom would get hot as sun was setting. Bed was firm. Could use a bit more lighting (upstairs closet did not have a light and safe was so high needed to stand on chair to access it) Personal preference: did not like the two story layout, but having a lot of room, including 2 full baths, was nice for hubby & I to spread out/not feel crowded. Lost power couple times (hey, island life/not their fault) but HAPPY to report water still worked with power off. If you want a cookie-cutter, full-service/pampering beach resort, this is not for you. If you want quiet island beauty, with a resort with owners trying their best to share their love of their island home, then this may be perfect for you.

We are still at lagun blou. This place is beautiful and laid back. The owners gave us a tour and showed us the store. They are charming. The villa is big with gorgeous views off both the upper and lower floors. The bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need accept spices and a can opener. The fridge is large and they have all glass cups and wine glasses. We brought plastic tumblers and our own spices. No need for a converter. We are canadian and we can plug everything in. I brought my own hair dryer and there wasn't one here so bring it. 2 bathrooms with huge walk in showers with lots of flow and hot. The bedroom is air conditioned and it works well. The grounds are really stunning and the snorkelling awesome. We even saw a turtle today!! There is a restaurant that is a 2 minute walk called discover lagun. It didn't look like much from the outside but the food is delicious!! All you can eat meat or fish on wednesdays and excellent pizza and fish the rest of the time. Their drinks are great and they speak English and were able to tell us a local place for food and alcohol in barber which is 11 minutes drive. Change your money into guilders at the airport to the left of the main building because the locals appreciate cash and will give you proper change. If you use American dollars they will use their own exchange rate and give you change in guilders so you save money using cash in guilders. The locals are kind and it is safe to drive. The resort is quiet so if you like partying dont come here lol if you want a quiet retreat with only a handful of people than this is your place. We have made friends on both sides with our neighbors and all of them have been here before. Some are on their 6th visit. We will definitely be back to this paradise!!!! Curacoa is charming as beautiful and the weather is great every day with lots if sun and thank god for the wind !!!!
