We can't recommend this b&b highly enough. The hosts are warm and welcoming, the breakfast is tasty, and the accommodations comfortable. If you like history and appreciate the significance of this region, you'll enjoy the vintage decor of the Farmstead and the wealth of information provided by the hosts.

The Flagg Farmstead B&B in Sherman, IL is a treat to stay at. It is within minutes of all of the inner city Springfield Illinois Lincoln sites as well as the nearby rural Lincoln sites and two wineries. Besides being geographically appealing, how can one beat staying in a National Historic home with Innkeepers who are very warm and friendly... More

Peeping out from a forested glade overlooking sweeping Illinois cornfields this magnificent 1871 Italianate mansion offers a delightful first impression – and it only gets better. Photographs simply don’t prepare you for just how charming the place is, and the hosts are its equal. This is one of the most attractive and interesting properties we have experienced and we’d come... More

Flagg Farmstead was the perfect place for our weekend get away with friends. 5 bedrooms with private baths that each couple occupied. The home was warm, charming and very inviting, breakfast was delicious! Doug and Rosalie are gracious hosts. Nice quiet atmosphere, and close to Springfield attractions. Highly Recommend!

We spent one night at the Flagg Farmstead on our trip to see the Lincoln sites and I wish we would have booked a longer stay! Rose and Doug are amazing hosts! The home is beautiful, the rooms are so clean and the beds so comfy, and the breakfast was so delicious. They recommended some great restaurants, told us the... More

My wife and I booked an overnight stay at the Flagg Farmstead B&B as part of our trip itinerary of going to the 2016 IL State Fair. I had conversations with the owner, Doug, because we were going to arrive late. Doug did his best to accommodate our itinerary and made sure everything would be taken care of for our... More

We were warmly welcomed, our room was beautiful, Rose and Doug recommended a great restaurant in town, and the dog was perfect! I had to talk my wife out of dog-napping! The inclusion of Lincoln museum tickets was a terrific bonus. Oh, yes, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We will certainly come back.

We spent 2 nights at the Flagg Farmstead. Doug and Rosalie were gracious hosts. Doug shared the history of the Flagg Farmstead and we found it very interesting. Rosalie shared stories as well and made wonderful breakfasts. They are very personable and we enjoyed spending time with them as they told us some good spots for dinner--we were not disappointed.... From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. The owners are so welcoming and make you feel like a friend rather than a 'customer'. We had booked a family room but Doug was considerate enough to put our son in another room of his own, at no extra cost. The house is beautiful and its history will blow... More

The whole atmosphere of Flagg Farmstead is absolutely beautiful. It exceeded our expectations. Our room was so comfortable and beautifully decorated with antiques. They have done a wonderful job of retaining the historic home. The food was delicious, and the hosts (Doug and Rosemary Polite) could not have been more gracious and friendly.
