I don't think there are many choices of good hotels in Aksum but this one is definitely one. The hotel is very well located in a street under the trees shadow, not far from the main sites, and with many restaurants walking distance. We arrived with our car and there is a private parking In the back of the hotel....

this is the third time I have stayed at the Sabean. The beds are definitely more comfortable and the showers work better. It is undoubtedly the best hotel in Axum. The food has not changed much and could not be called fantastic (although they put on a wonderful buffet for a meeting we held in the hotel.) If you are...

We spent 2 nights on our northern Ethiopia tour. It is probably the best hotel in Axum. The rooms are average but very clean and everything works - hot water - window opened for air as no a/c. The dining room is fine and many local places just down the street. All in - nothing to get excited about but...

There is not much choice in Axum. This hotel is central. We had lunch and dinner here and the service was good. The room was nice and quiet and sleep was plentiful. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and very powerful. The internet is on and off - but you are in Africa!

I stayed here while on a tour. Luckily I only had to stay here for one night. The service was horrific, the food the worst I had in Ethiopia. Room was relatively clean but not the bathroom. the restaurant area was really bad. All around not worth a visit.

the rooms were average and i could get a decent shower, food was ok. I stayed here because it was close to the Stelae field. it is on a busy street. my only gripe is that after the maids cleaned the room they would leave the windows open which let in the mosquitos

For us accommodation is a very important part of our holiday. Our travel agent told us that this was, presently, the best available hotel in Axum. When we visited, early February, the hotel was pretty much empty. We could tell because they leave all the empty rooms with the door open. They could have easily upgraded us. Our room was...

Looks better inside than out. Is on the main road so the front rooms are noisy. Centrally placed and within walking distance of Stelae field and St Mary's church. Our room was spotless, bed comfortable and shower pressure and temperature the best in Ethiopia so far ( although you do have to wait a fair while for it to warm...

I don't recommend this hotel. Came with my family for tourism. Only golf thing is the cleanliness of the rooms. The hotel is not designed for catering and food. For example where the restaurant is the kitchen isn't next to it. The food is delivered through the same elevator which the guests use. There is no ventilation whatsoever and you...

I was quite shocked when we drove up to this hotel but the taxi driver told me that it is the best in town. Thankfully, the hotel looked better inside than out. Our room was very small but clean and warm as we were staying on the sunny side in January. The shower water was just warm but then hot...
