Being more of a hotel person, this was a bit of a trip into the unknown as a family. The bad bits: It was cold when we got there and was definitely pretty chilly on the first night. What to take: There's no shop on the doorstep .... so blankets, candles, drinks, food, torches, board games etc etc are musts....

Just got back from a fantastic family weekend ( 2adults, 3 teens, 1 dog) This site is great, it's so much fun. There are lots of walks close by and the farm, but you're so busy collecting logs, keeping the fires lit, stirring the hot tub, heating water for washing up, making tea, opening the blinds, closing the blinds,😂 etc...

Peace and quiet is the order here. These Lodges are well equipped. The beds are very comfortable and warm bedding. The wood burner stove is a nice touch but also essential for the chilly nights. We were protected from most of the elements by the woodland. Acton Scott farm is a nice and interesting day out literally on your doorstep....

We stayed midweek in August. Having stayed at a featherdown farm before we were familiar with the set up so didn't really struggle with starting the fires etc. We went very well prepared with lots of fire lighters and kindle. There are four tents each having plenty of room and privacy between each. We were tent four which was the...

Have been to other similar camping "experiances" and this one is good but not exceptional. The accommodation is quite spacious and the beds fine for adults as well as children but there could be a sink in the loo and one gas burner to heat up a kettle in the morning as getting enough heat in the stove and boil...
