I took my husband here as our first visit to the lakes to show him having a dog with us on holiday wouldn't be a hindrance. What a brilliant outcome! Fantastic Inn, cosy clean and fabulous staff. The food was delicious. Ideal location to visit other places. I loved sitting in the restaurant, with each table having a dog. A...

Took advantage of kids being on a teacher training day and stayed over on a Sunday night. Great family rooms and excellent food/service. Close to Grizedale forest for a range of easy to more strenuous walks as well as "Go Ape" which will keep the older kids happy Will be back!

Had a lovely meal here on a cold damp Saturday night in March. We were able to book a table for just after 7pm by booking the day before but I dont think it would be so easy in peak season! Even though every table was booked there was a nice calm cosy atmosphere, helped by the dim lighting and...

I visited Cuckoo Brow in March and was a bit wary when we saw the place was empty. I realised why when the Sunday beef roast came out. The beef was extremely fatty and the roasties tasted old. No staff member came to check so when I complained about the food when the female staff member came to take the...

Just returned from a one night stay at the charming Cuckoo Brow Inn and everything about the stay was first class. It was the first time at this Inn and also taking our dog to a hotel but we needn't have worried. We were given a warm welcome and told dogs access all areas. The hotel was very traditionally decorated...

Excellent room and catered well for people and dogs which was our main reason for picking the Cuckoo brow. The dining room also allowed dogs and they were catered for. They had dog bowls with drinking water and dog biscuits for treats. Our food was lovely too. Breakfast had a lovely choice and I loved the bottom of the menu...

After our stay with Lucy the Lurcher last year, we decided to do it again. We weren't disappointed. We took a superior room again to give us plenty of room, and once again the standard, and cleanliness was excellent. Despite it being a big room, if you use the heating correctly, it is surprisingly warm and cosy - even when...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated in the heart of the quiet village of the Far Sawrey, just a 3/4 mile pleasant stroll to the National Trust home of Beatrix Potter, our Lake District Inn welcomes you to come and sit by the fire. Situated at the top of the hill in between Lake Windermere and Hawkshead Village, surrounded by beautiful scenery, popular walking and cycling trails and of course the countryside which Beatrix Potter drew her inspiration from. We are a classic, yet contemporary Lake District Bed & Breakfast, which has recently been renovated and lovingly restored to its former glory. We now have 14 beautiful en-suite bedrooms, which are a selection of superking size, family and twin rooms, all rooms have power showers, 32" flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities and everything you would want from Lake District B&B. We are passionate about the Lakes, and strive to produce a local, sourcing as much produce as possible from the from the bountiful area in which we sit, be that the Real Ales, the game for our Huntsmans Hot Pot or the sausages for our Cumbrian Breakfast which of course no true Lake District B&B would be without. We would like to welcome all to our little Inn, which offers dog friendly accommodation for those wishing to bring their dog away for a holiday in the Lakes. Whether you are popping in for a pint or coming to stay in the Lake District Bed & Breakfast, our doors are open and our fires are on. Food is served all day, 12 noon to 3pm, 5pm until 9pm. ... more   less
