Thanks Winnifred and David for a wonderful stay at Cherry House BnB. You are great hosts and know exactly how to look after your guests. Our room was spacious and cosy with ensuite bathroom, an excellent nights sleep. The view to Monte Cimone was outstanding. Home made meals and breakfast topped off the stay. We'll see you again for sure.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Winnifred and David at Cherry House in Polinago. Cherry House is situated in an authentic Italian town. This is what I enjoyed because I was able to experience the real Italian way of life. I recommend this for travellers wanting a rest from the big cities. The hostel is very pleasant in decor and furnishings are perfectly put together. The standard of cleanliness is excellent. My room had a wonderful view of Mount Cimone. There is history to become acquainted with in this part of Italy. This was a very interesting aspect of my stay.
My partner and I spent three nights at the B&B and were greeted with prefessionality but also with a lot of warmth. The two owners are a lovely couple who have travelled the world and came to Polinago by choice. Their approach is therefore that of someone who wants to feel good and make others feel good. Following this motto, they run a house with all the necessary comforts for a stay in the Modenese Apennines. The village doesn't offer much but the surroundings are pleasant and suitable for those who love walking. We recommend it to those who are not in a hurry and want to discover a corner of Italy with a touch of internationality.
We were extremely lucky to find this place for at least three reasons: 1. Winnie is a living wikipedia of the area. Had it not been for her,we would have no idea what to do (for sightseeing). 2. Breakfast is superb. 3. General good vibe of the place and friendliness of the hosts. Do yourself a favour and go there. The rooms are super clean, beds are comfortable, they even have a shared place to hang out in the evening.
Winnifred and David welcomed me into their lovely property in Polinago. Polinago isn't anywhere close to a big city and that's why I liked it. I had pre-arranged my pickup from the airport with them and from there on in I worked with Winnifred and David who helped me arrange tours around the area. My suggestion is to call them and have a chat about what they have to offer. I couldn't have wished for better hosts.
Win and David have crafted the most perfect experience for us in this beautifully appointed totally refurbished house high on the edge of beautiful Pollinago. The quality and comfort of the rooms, the en suite heated towel rails, plentiful supply of hot water, home made jams and preserves, cheeses, hand picked fruit and local products are only exceeded by Win’s knowledge of the Italian language and the insights into Italian history and culture. A wonderful experience. Thank you Win and David for being such perfect hosts. Don and Helen
Thanks David and Winifred for your wonderful hospitality on our recent 4 night stay . We enjoyed your wonderful home and company and cooking and wine . Not forgetting the Cherry House Nocino and lemoncello . What a wonderful way of exploring rural Italy , the walks , the cheese factory, the beautiful countryside and the towns of Bologna and Modena . It was a bit of a shock to then arrive in busy chaotic Naples ! Thanks again for sharing your love and knowledge of this part of Italy .
This place was recommended by some friends of ours and we were not disappointed. Winn and David were great hosts and full of information about the region. We got picked by them from Verona and over the next 3 days we were taken around to see the sights of the region. The highlights were the mummies Rockapellago, Lake Garda, Lake Santo, and it forgetting the Ferrari museum. Great few days. You will see some sights one would ordinarily see. It is off the beaten track.
It's now been a few weeks since our stay at Cherry House and after venturing thru Venice & Rome we are now relaxing on the Amalfi Coast reminiscing about our stay at Cherry House. What an experience! Hubby & I decided to head to Italy to celerbrate my 40th birthday and then the fun/scary/uncertain task of booking accommodation started.... Hubby randomly stumbled across a comment on an Italian travel website from David and we are thanking our lucky stars as we would have never discovered a little village called Polinago, home to a lovely Australian couple Win & David. Cherry House isn't just a BnB, it is so much more. We felt like we were staying with a favourite Aunt & Uncle who spoilt us with all the comforts of home and showed us the true Italian lifestyle. The stories, the food, the history lessons had us captivated and laughing the entire stay and we never really felt like 'guests'. As our stay came to an end they went above and beyond checking our plans, giving us so many valuable tips, do/donts where to stay, what to see etc which made the next leg of our adventure so much more than it would have been! we So thank you Win & David for sharing so much with us and making our first trip to Italy so authentic and truly special. Caio for now! Until we meet again soon! Dannii & Ian xxx…
David and Winnifred- thank you so much for 5 wonderful nights with you. We both enjoyed all the activities, which were perfectly tailored to our interests in cars, cooking, history and all things Italian (and my mobility issues!). Your knowledge of Italy off the beaten track was so comprehensive. Boating in Sirmione, the mummies in a cliff top church and David's encyclopaedic knowledge of ice cream shops are even more reasons to stay in this unspoilt part of Italy with marvellous hosts.
