A real stretch of the word resort. It was filthy and dated. The staff were plastic at best. I’ve stayed in everything from a motel 6 to a five star resort and this takes the cakes for the worst. Don’t be fooled by the photos. They do not care about this place anymore.

This is a very interesting complex. I took my date here in 1964 for prom. It was special then, and is today. The rooms are comfortable. The pool is a very cool combinatin indoor/outdoor. Bourbon Street is a cobblestone lane with specialty shops and picnic type benches to enjoy your purchases and enjoy the ambiance. There are several restaurants accommodating your particular wallet. They have a huge convention center, a theater, comedy club, and a golf course. It is certainly a destination resort. However, locals will find the restaurants and Bourbon Street, worth a visit.

After just checking in for a lacrosse tournament, we are sorely disappointed. Another family moved already. We are looking into it. Currently the toilet is not working. The place has had no maintenance done for 30 years.

I gave two stars because the staff were kind and somewhat attentive, there are several pools, a workout room, an escape room on site, and the bourbon street strip was cute. Otherwise, 1 start it would be. My hubs and I were escaping for a rare two nights away from our kids, we live in a suburb just north of Chicago, wanted to go somewhere close that felt like a real vacation. The price of the groupon paired with the description of the resort sounded perfect. The staff are friendly. The lobbies have been remodeled and make you think you are walking into an old but updated establishment. That, however, is a facade. The rooms are disgusting. The room we were first placed it smelled of sewer, was dark, dirty and dank. It was depressing. We tried to accept it, then called, and they came in and "sprayed" to hopefully alleviate the smell. Didn't work. So we called again later and they changed our room. The new room was much less depressing, had some sunlight and only a teeny tiny smell of sewage when in the bathroom. Felt much better in there. However, the paint on the bathroom ceiling was cracking. The toilet and the shower and rust/dirt stains. The mattress pad was ripped. It was hard not feeling like everything in that room was dirty. Lets talk about the pool/hottub. We went to the indoor atrium pool because the outdoor pool was full of children and because that was the only location of the hottub. We went twice. The first time the hottub was warm... but it felt dirty. The whole floor around the pool/hottub was soaking wet. The paint around it was dirty/chipping. You sit in the hottub and are surrounded by rust and filth. But we blocked it out to enjoy the feeling of the hottub. The second time we went, the hottub was cold. Like literally, freezing cold. We finally found a staff member whose response was, "Yeah, it does that. Nothing we can do. Sometimes its hot, sometimes its cold." Well, great. Know what is unpleasant? A cold hottub! We did not eat at the resort once, but had great meals in St.Charles and Geneva. We did the escape room which was awesome and cool that it was onsite. We worked out once, and was grateful for the treadmill, but it was sticky and dirty and I just felt contaminated after. I am pretty lowkey and love a good deal, so I'm okay going to places that are perhaps outdated or older. But this was gross. Do yourself a favor, don't go.

We were here for a wedding and stayed 2 nights. The resort is old and run down. The a/c barely worked and our room never got cool. The plumbing is old, toilets don't flush and water pressure is weak. The carpets are beat up and stained. The elevators are creaky and scary. When we checked in there were no carts to unload, and it is a hike from check in to the room. There was a lazy bellman who was not helpful and had no idea where we could find a cart, so we made 2 trips to get our stuff in. There were lots of kids running around, and both pools were packed. Not super relaxing or "resort" like. Our stay made me sad, because we had our reception here 22 years ago, and it was classy and beautiful. Now it is old, run down and feels like a cheap motel.
