The Hyatt Regency O'Hare Chicago has received mixed feedback from its guests. While the cleanliness of the hotel often garners compliments, some travelers have faced issues with room availability and dated amenities. The hotel's location is a highlight, offering easy airport access and proximity to attractions, though the value is somewhat marred by high costs for parking and additional services.
The amenities, including shuttle service, are appreciated, yet extra charges can be a letdown. Service quality varies, with reports of both helpful and lackluster staff encounters.

Detailed Reviews
Whenever we fly or need to stay in that area we always choose the Hyatt because they always make the stayperfect. The shuttle service is dependable and friendly. The covered parking is a huge plus. The foods are excellent.

Attended a week long convention and training in the hotel. It is nice that everything was in one place especially if the weather is bad however you are locked into the pricing and service of the hotel. Biggest negative was the sound in the room. The room was directly above the loading dock and they worked several evenings until 11:20pm, this is not acceptable. Windows did a very poor job of dampening the sound. When the manager was called on more than one night they did not get it resolved, basically the crew continued until the were complete. Food was OK but not a great value. The shinning star was the bartender, she made that part of the visit enjoyable and at Happy Hour prices the value was acceptable. In the bar the quesadilla appraiser was good but the Garlic Parmesan fries were under-cooked and the wait was very long. Understaffed for the amount of people there.

I stayed at the Hyatt while working an event at the convention center. With a fee airport shuttle it's easy to reach from the airport and the very convenient walk bridge takes you from the hotel to the convention center without having to walk outside. Bar offers great food so you don't need to go out after a long day. The rooms are a little on she small side but have everything you need and the big screen tv is a big plus!

Stayed here two nights in a row. Unfortunately most of the negatives are systemic from the age/design of the building and location; not an issue caused by the excellent staff.
Negatives: Jet noise from O’Hara Airport unbearable at some times. Bathroom in rooms in the circular towers are almost an after thought. The shower is almost 3ft by 3ft; feels like a small shower in an RV. “Smart” motion detector AC thermostats turn off automatically during the night and the room gets hot. I had to physically turn on the AC two to three times each night in both rooms after it shut off automatically.
Positives: Rooms are clean and newly renovated. Staff is very friendly. Close (15 minute walk) to a nice collection of restaurants and a shopping mall.
If you stay here do not stay in a room in any of the four circular towers. Ask for a room on the opposite side of the building from the airport to mitigate the jet noise.

Staff was not approachable nor helpful, food was awful and not worth the price. I felt it was expensive for what we received even with the services we did not pay for directly such as staff experiences. The hotel is going through a remodel no ice on each floor and no microwave in every room only on the floor by the elevators. I was told by staff before arrival there were liquid creamers in the room and every room had a frig and microwave. This was not true!!! I would suggest to find an alternative place to stay if you can.

This hotel has clearly been around for a very long time. Attempts have been made at updating it, but it still falls short.
You can hear everything from the rooms next to and above you (even a cough), as well as constant noise from the lobby. My daughter even commented that she could hear the silverware from the open air buffet below.
Parking is ridiculously expensive. Do yourself a favor and park in the convention garage directly across the street for $15/day (it’s connected to the hotel).

I guess I just expected more, while they put on the air of high quality the really wasn't much to write home about, if you wanted to use the cart to move your bags you hat to use a valley which I guess makes sense but just made me feel uncomfortable, since I don't like loosing control of my own bags. It was definitely clean at least, but the rooms were smaller than other cheaper hotels, bathroom was super cramped as well, I think that was the smallest door frame I've ever seen, not to mention the hot and cold labels were backwards, in the shower which made for an unpleasant surprise. The only food in the hotel that I could find was their 24hr convince nook. Which was predictably over priced and whose definition of hot food appeared to be pre prepped food thrown in a toaster oven all of which again I'd consider wildly overpriced. I wouldn't call this a bad stay, it had everything I expected of an average hotel stay but I thought this hotel was suppose to be above average thus I must admit I was really left wanting. I'm not mad just disappointed.

The hotel, rooms and conference rooms were top notch. Bed was super comfortable. Rooms were extremely clean! All grounds of hotel were spotless and I personally observed staff multiple times cleaning door handles, elevator buttons and other public high flow/touch surfaces! I would highly recommend this hotel! All staff were friendly and helpful! The only negative was due to COVID which required most of the food/beverage services to be closed. However staff was very helpful to provide close by options for dining.

The property offered an opportunity to get a great night's rest. The bed was neatly made up. Bathroom spotless. Appreciated the noise machine in the room that helped me sleep more soundly. The linens smelled fresh. Also, each eve when I returned to the room, new bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion were available for use. Staff friendly, cordial, and welcoming.

Everything was seamless and I was able to accomplish most things through my mobile device. For example, checking in, mobile key entry and requesting items. As always, the staff was remarkably helpfully and pleasant.
One item that would have improved my stay would have been a vacuum or even a mini wireless handheld one so that I could clean up the carpet. Even before covid I always declined housekeeping and would try to minimize the labor for them. However, because I stayed in the Bi-level suite this time it was a bit of a chore hand-picking all the little crumbs that fell on the floor.
I know that the rooms will eventually get vacuumed but this suggestion is only really to help out the staff. I truly enjoy my stays at this Hyatt Regency O'Hare and I want to give back as much as possible. Thank you!

It's bolted very close to the wall. I'm thinking no.
I don't know call the hotel
Hey Xrtrek; I seldom use the in-room coffee makers, even in the best hotels. They traditionally have a track record of not usually being “highly maintained.” However, that said, I believe it was a 1-shot Keurig using standard K-cup coffee. % sure of that – a quick phone call to their front desk (press option “0” ) should get that confirmed for you.
Still calling the Front Desk is a good idea. You may be able to adjust or upgrade your preferences (poss for a fee, of course). I have found a much greater percent success rate being a polite and friendly voice on the phone, versus an impersonal email. Especially if there’s something about your phone conversation that is better than what that representative has been experiencing for the day.
If booked through a third party, will be able to check in with a Visa Debit at the time of check in?
You should probably contact the property.
