I stayed here for a conference recently. The hotel itself is fairly nice, however: - Someone overdosed in the room across from me. Police, firefighters, EMTs giving Narcan in front of my room, rushed this dude to the ER, and some girl was questioned for an hour, and subsequently arrested right outside my door. I heard EVERYTHING, saw everything. - The doors are PAPER thin, which is why I called to complain in the first place (after hearing some not-normal noises coming from that room that were super concerning - it literally sounded like someone was being killed. Which, with that kind of OD, it very well might have been). This all went on for 2 hours at night outside my room. It was traumatizing to watch/listen to. I went downstairs after it all happened to talk to the manager after being concerned that I heard there were more people registered to the room, worried someone else shady might come back that night. No words to me at all about being the one to call, no offer to switch me rooms, nada. They told me there would be no one coming back to the room. Still concerned, I went back up and tried to sleep. Did not sleep AT ALL. Too shaken up. The next morning I went downstairs and decided I was going to check out a night early. When the girl at the front desk asked me why I was leaving I literally started crying (didn't even realize I had that in me but 2 hours of drug overdose/police drama + no sleep will do that I guess), and told her I was uncomfortable staying another night given what happened the night prior. I left that day with no word from the manager, no "hey are you doing okay?". I was there by myself and I am so thankful I had friends in the area that let me stay with them after that. At a minimum, as someone who has worked in the service industry prior, a check from the staff or management that everyone around them was good given everything that happened would have been nice. Despite the fact that this hotel is nice, because of the way this was handled along with the fact that "quiet" is the last way I would describe their room areas - I will never stay here again. Absolutely not.…
My son was married at the hotel, and I stayed there for two nights. It was a great experience. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and quiet. The bathroom was very roomy, and the closet comfortably held my long mother of the groom dress and other outfits. Service was exceptional, especially Derek, who was on the front desk. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from the people taking my luggage to the room, to the cleaners, the women in the gift shop and the Starbucks workers. But Derek went above and beyond. He reassured me that even if I couldn't get into my room early, there was a safe space to store my luggage and clothes. He answered all of my questions, and personally helped with anything I needed. Derek expressed interest in our joyful occasion, interacted with other guests and his colleagues in a friendly but professional way, and made a great weekend even better---a stellar employee! The lobby and wedding venue were beautiful and tasteful, and the food and drinks were delicious! For all of these reasons, this hotel deserves 5 stars!…
I read all the negative reviews before arriving and prepared for the worst but I really can’t find any defects with the hotel. It appears to have been recently remodeled. Our room is clean and modern, the room service was fast and good, the shuttle came quickly, the gym was well equipped and the check in was fast. This will be our new airport hotel in O’Hare.
After reading the reviews and understanding that it was an "airport hotel", I was pleasantly surprised by the level of service and attention to detail. The hotel was really bustling with various workshops and conventions happening simultaneously. What I noticed and appreciated was whenever I encountered an employee, anytime of the day, they were kind, attentive and patient. Again, the hotel was packed, but when an employee engaged with you it was as if you were the only person there and there wasn't a line of people behind you. A kind gentleman at the front desk helped ensure my morning coffee was as it should be. They only give you one pack of sugar and the powdered creamer in the rooms. I needed several packs of sugar and liquid creamer. He expeditiously gave me both and asked how many bottles of water I needed. What a morning life saver!! Thank you! I wish I had gotten his name. The beds were okay, nothing spectacular, the pillows varied. Rooms included a single serve Keurig and refrigerator. I wouldn't say the rooms are sound proof as I heard guest loudly speaking in the hallway early one morning. I suppose it's sound proof from outside noise which is a plus, but not hallway noise. All in all I would recommend this hotel.…
Hotel is in a good location for all of the things to do and see in Rosemont. Close to airport. The room was clean, bed was comfortable. Housekeeping wasnt available due to COVID precautions, but the front desk was helpful when it came to replacing towels. Not bad for the price that was paid. Starbucks was only a convenience in the hotel.
This hotel doesn't deserve the one star I am forced to give it. I have never been treated with such callous, rude and unprofessional manner in my life as I was here by the manager, Monique Senn. I ate at the hotels Benchmark restaurant on the first night of my stay and became terribly ill with food poisoning from their orecchiette sausage pasta entree. That whole night and the entire next morning and into the mid afternoon I experienced severe vomiting and diarrhea. When I finally found a little strength to call down to the front desk and ask if someone could bring me bottled water I was treated with blatant disregard to my sad situation by Monique. Then the restaurant manager called up to my room a few moments later and tried to deny the fact that I became sick from their food. Being as sick as I was I could not even muster up the strength to pack my bags and go to another hotel so I reserved another night. The second time I called down to the front desk I asked Monique if she could send the cleaning staff up to my room to tidy up. She asked me why I needed them and I explained to her again that I was very sick (see pictures) and that there was vomit on the bathroom floor and down the side of the bed from me vomiting into the waste basket. I also informed her that there was diarrhea in the bed and on the bathroom floor as I could not make it to the toilet some of the time. That's when she rudely replied that I would be charged an exorbitant cleaning fee on my credit card. I promptly hung up on her as I did not have the strength to argue. As the day progressed Monique became less accommodating and flat out rude. I was in the bathtub when she came up to my room with a security guard and with a very nasty tone in her voice she asked if I had paid for another night. I replied that I had paid for another evening over an hour ago on Priceline. Then she curtly walked away with the security guard. I will be reaching out to Westin's corporate office in Connecticut on Monday morning to let them know how Monique treated me when I became violently ill from their restaurant. If you do choose to stay here I would avoid their Benchmark restaurant at all costs!!!!…
Going to make my review very transparent. First, I want to acknowledge three awesome front desk workers (Damien; Monique and Marie) – all three were professional and courteous. Now on to the management. Being a retired Transactional Attorney (emphasis Acquisitions and Mergers), who now a Business Development Consultant – this property had all “chiefs” out at the same time, both the General Manager and Director of Operations. Being that I structure companies, that’s a huge no no, especially during holiday season. I encountered a situation, emailed the GM and to this day I have never heard back from Lisa Timbo. I was at the property December 25, 2021 to January 1, 2022. Said email was sent on December 26, 2021. During my stay it became quite evident that they cater more to Airline employees. Regardless of us elites, who like myself didn’t earn my status via a corporate expense account; my funds got me to it's current level and have maintain my loyalty for years the same way. If it’s the intent to have this facility for the Airline, don’t offer any rooms to the rest of us, as I assure you other programs will gladly take our money. As for me personally this overall experience has put such a bad “Bonvoy” taste in my mouth I am strongly considering taking me and my personal funds to a different program. There are far to many options and other hotels who’d gladly accept my stays as when I book, it’s generally for a week or longer as I like to travel to explore and toggle in work based my time. I spend more time in hotels then my home (as I tell people home is just where I happen to store my handbags and shoes; I want to see the world now that I set my own work hours). The Westin O’Hare was indeed an experience I won’t forget.…
Great business hotel, organized and professional. The hotel is by the airport, but it is beautiful. A child of the 90’s I would guess. The staff is wonderful. Check-in was seamless and the bartender Karen was absolutely lovely. I haven’t had a nicer bartender/server in quite some time. I was the only customer when I walked in and her service was perfect throughout, even when it became busy. I can’t wait until I have a reason to return.
I stayed here twice in a week for work and had no complaints. The hotel seemed newly updated including the common areas and rooms. Rooms and bathrooms were good size. Nice to have a Starbucks for coffee and the hotel bar had good flatbread pizza and stays open later than expected. A few restaurant options nearby but not much. Airport shuttle was reliable. Only occasional flyover airport noise. Pretty nice for an airport hotel.
The room was newly remodeled with hard surface flooring, which I really appreciate! Very clean and very functional with plugs, etc. I would prefer a bathtub instead of just a shower, but that seems to be the way remodels go. I did appreciate the removable shower wand. Room could use a better reading chair and I miss room service, which hadn’t returned since Covid. Starbucks in the lobby was a plus. All in all, it was a very good stay and I would definitely stay here again.
