We stayed while walking the Nothumberland coastal path. Lynn the owner was very kind and produced an evening meal as there is not anything in the village. The rooms are a bit dated and the price is high compared with some other stops on the path, but this is probably as there is nowhere else if you want to stop... More

This was the most expensive place we stayed whilst walking St Cuthbert's Way. It provided fewer amenities than the hotel in Wooler costing £55. The room was comfortable and clean with good quality furnishings and linen. The evening meal was very disappointing. Although plentiful, it was patently straight from a supermarket deep freeze. This was not reflected in the price... More

We stayed in this relaxing home from home for two nights while walking the Northumberland Coastal Path and having a break to visit Lindisfarne. Our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped as was the en-suite. There is a comfortable guest lounge and we enjoyed the pre-arranged evening meal which we had there. Lynn cooks all the meals herself and... More

We stayed here while walking the coastal path as the path goes right though the village and it was a convenient place for our schedule. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but we were very pleased when our weary legs brought us to the door and we were greeted by the friendly lady that runs the place. We had... More

This is a perfect retreat if you want peace and tranquility. Close to Lindisfarne and Holy Island with some fantastic scenery and walks.Really nice accomodation with great hosts and a super cooked breakfast with some real Scottish haggis. Thoroughly recommended.

A terrific overnight stay on our way to Scotland in a very relaxing and comfortable B&B. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Our room had a lovely homely feel to it with fantastic views over the countryside. After a comfortable nights sleep, we enjoyed a lovely freshly cooked breakfast before continuing our journey. Would definitely stay here again and... More

The owner has this B&B up for sale. We heard about his past, number of guests over the, the fact he has scaled down the business and annual turnover. We even heard about the 'high maintenance' women who stayed the day before us! One room had a single and a double bed and we were told how delighted the cleaner... More

We were up for a wedding and the booking for our hotel hadn't gone through, so we ended up frantically looking for a B&B for a night. Luckily they had had a cancellation here, and it's so good that they did! One the the nicest B&Bs that I have ever stayed in. The breakfast was perfect, with a fine range... More

Very conveniently situated just off the A1, Manor House is well-placed whether travelling north, south, or simply walking / sightseeing locally. Our room (Priory) was very clean, comfortable and well-furnished. Being on the second floor we had hoped for a slightly better sea view, but we were after all a mile or two inland. Breakfasts were excellent, and our hosts... More

We (a couple) secured a last minute room at the Manor House which is located very conveniently to visit Lindisfarne (Holy Island) and to visit the beautiful Northumberland beaches. We were made very welcome and the hosts booked us for dinner at a nearby (3 miles down the road) pub which does a great beef and ale pie. The beer... More
