After years of staying here with wonderful stays the security has decreased dramatically. There was a large party in the room next door which hardly nothing was done about. They were asked to turn down the music, which they did for 15 minutes...then it got even louder. After several hours desk staff got some to leave, but they stayed in the hallway for 45 minutes making loud threats about the people who turned them in. This happened again later. When I phoned the front desk again, she said she had nowhere to move them to. So clearly the hotel doesn't view other paying guests as important. I didn't feel safe after the threats that were made until we out of town. Very disappointing. After talking with 2 family members in the area, I found out it has become known as a party place. …
Staff was polite and friendly during check-in. The room was clean, quite and had everything I needed.. Breakfast had more than expected with this being Covid times. Coffee and juice 24 hours a day was a nice touch.
I stayed this establishment for a business trip. I arrived after an extremely long work day at 5:15p. My check in went really smoothly. When i went to my room I noticed that my room door was slightly ajar, I knocked a few times with no response so I pushed the door open. The room was totally unmade. The bed was unmade and towels on the floor. I exited the room and saw cleaning people at the other end of the hall. I approached them to inquire when the room would be ready, The cleaning person shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't know". At this point, I noticed that at least five other rooms were not cleaned. I decided to go to dinner while I waited for the room to be cleaned. The receptionist told me she was sorry my room wasn't cleaned and that she had given instructions for the room to be cleaned immediately. What was puzzling to me was, if you knew the room was not clean, why did you assign it to me? I proceeded to go to dinner. I noticed when I got back into my car that the maids were cleaning several rooms on the first floor as well, I also noticed that the upper floors of the hotel are occupied by year round residents. I was told by a local resident that the these were condos. That's something I've never seen before When I arrived back to my room, the room was clean. I had a suite and it was very spacious with a jacuzzi. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was nice. It is rare that I frequent this area for work so it is doubtful that I would visit this establishment again.…
My 72 Hr CHOICE STAYS I work at a CHOICE Hotel (MainStay Suites) in Greer, SC. Just before my Monday 2nd shift at 3 pm my phone rang with an emergency request to be at my brothers hospital bed in Illinois, by the next day at 5 pm. I came home and packed and my wife and I plus our 2 dogs drove to Illinois. Our 1st stop after many hours of driving was just across the Indiana border at the Quality Inn & Suites - 111 Enterprise Way, Sellersburg, IN, 47172 While checking in on Points I was told it will be $40 for my dogs. The GSA questioned why I didn't get the Employee Rate. I said I'd rather stay for free on points. He then told me I am eligible for a FREE Night if I stay 2 times. I told him, No, I'm not. You don't get it by staying on points. Plus, you must sign up for those promotions each time they have one. NO NO he said. It's automatic. I said NO NO, it's right here on YOUR place mat. ALREADY A MEMBER? SIGN UP FOR THIS PROMOTION. He collected my $40 for the pets then sent me to the nastiest hotel room I've ever been in. It needed paint and cleaning. I was hoping he would use the $40 for supplies. The bed was old and the TV was small. The condition of the room made us weary of the breakfast they were offering so we skipped it. The second hotel we stayed at was the Comfort Inn & Suites 1133 N. 7th St., Hwy 251 and Rt, 38, Rochelle, IL, 61068 The GPS said we would get to the hotel around 1:30 pm. I called and spoke to Tammy asking if we can come in early. YES she said. We arrived and Tammy upgraded us to a Master King Suite with a kitchen. Nice. The room was awesome and we both said this was so much better. Tammy said there was 24 hr coffee and breakfast was at 6 am. I woke up early and wanted coffee at 5:30 am I went to the lobby to get coffee and was told by the blonde breakfast attendant she wasn't open til 6 am. I said I just wanted coffee and she scowled as I sat down to wait until 6 am. I watched as this attendant continued her preparations. I watched her with NO GLOVES handle the biscuits while she microwaved them then put them into the bread drawer. I watched while she handles the cheese omelets without gloves as well and flipping her hair and using her jeans to wipe off her hand. At 5:58 she turned on the lights and other employees came in and started preparing their breakfast, standing in the way of guests who wanted food. I wanted biscuits and gravy but went with toast. While toasting my bread, the attendant came out of the kitchen asking what does she smell burning? Oh, it's the toaster she said. My toast was not burning at all. I got my toast and the employee came back in front of me for gravy. He also helped himself and opened a cupboard to get the hot sauce. After he got his hot sauce he noticed I was waiting and stepped out of the way. Employees can not eat breakfast at the Choice hotel I work at. Tammy was a breath of fresh air and the breakfast attendant and other employees ruined it. We had to return to our jobs back home. We drove til we could go no further. We stopped at the Quality Inn 365 Peggy Flatts Road, Berea, KY, 40403 Again, the front desk didn't miss a beat asking for the dog fees then sent us to a nasty room that still had a lot of hair in the bathroom. Paint was needed all over and the tub was peeling. To gross to use. We slept and left skipping breakfast as well. So 72 hours after being notified of the emergency we were home again. We stayed at 3 CHOICE Hotels on points and feel that we were given sub par accommodations. I work hard to earn Choice Points so I can enjoy my future stays. I gave up over 30,000 points to stay at these places. It will be interesting to see the replies (if any) I will get. I wonder if any one will MAKE IT RIGHT? Rollin Morgan…
