These lovely authentic rooms are located in a village of Mitata which is at the centre of the island. This means it is in close proximity to the Port and airport and in my view this central location is the ideal place from which to explore Kythira. There is also a stunning view from the cliff top from where the rooms are located. The rooms themselves are really lovely and charming and have great facilities for a holiday including kitchen. The rooms have a lovely theme that suits the traditional village setting. This is a lovely change from your standard tourist rooms. Also a really nice touch is bathroom products are naturally made from the island. The lady in reception was also really helpful in giving advice for activities. If you are looking for the perfect base from which to explore the island of Kythira, look no further!…
We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms of Abramis and it was definately worth it. The room was very nice and clean, and very comfortable. We also have stayed in one of the "traditional rooms" which was also very nice. Myrto in the reception was great giving us great tips about the island.
Abramis rooms are well appointed and well located in Mitata, in the centre of Kythera. Our cosy room offered nearby parking ( a car is essential for getting around), close to the Gorge. We had a small and functional kitchen, hot showers and good heating for cooler nights. Our hosts could not have made us feel more welcome. Being on Kythera for Easter afforded many opportunities to experience Greek culture - we enjoyed an Easter lunch with Vrettos' family, a folk music night and religious activities, as well as the many tavernas, villages and shopping in Hora.
There are two different blocks for rental. The new one and the old one. Be aware in which one your apartment lays. On the Internet you find mixed photos and you get confused and misleadded. The rooms were old and rotten, dirty, noisy with leaking water from the wc. The balcony chairs were moldy and dirty. The sanitary articles have been rusted and dangerously broken. Full parade of bugs during the night. We changed 3 rooms trying to find a good one and without musty smell. Professionallity is more important than kindness!?. We stayed only two nights at this wonderful village in one of the lovely Abramis rooms, and it was really interesting to get away from the seaside villages where most people go. It felt like this was the real Greece and the owners made us feel welcome in that generous Greek way. We can't wait to return and spend more time exploring this beautiful, timeless village.
