Our hosts were extremely friendly and down to Earth. The property was in excellent condition. We could tell Bill and Steph put a lot of money and care into keeping the property as close to original as possible, taking into consideration to do upgrades for modern amenities and safety. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the back yard because of the season but we will during the summer. The bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and we had a wonderful time chatting with Bill and Steph. We HIGHLY recommend staying at the Patchwork Inn if you are in Oregon, IL or even close by, it's worth the short trip to stay there instead of a motel. We give it 4 thumbs up !!!

We senior citizens (age 80+) found Patchwork website looking for a place to stay in NW Illinois that didn't have too much area corona virus. Everything at Patchwork suggests quality and attention to detail. Breakfast is equal to what you'd expect in a big city hotel. Renovated historical building is expertly designed to offer guests a memorable experience. The Nelsons are wonderful hosts. Worth driving a few miles off I-39. We have already booked another overnight on our way to visit family in St. Paul, MN.

As frequent travelers, we usually stay in upper mid-range hotels, but due to Covid19 we decided to stay at a smaller place with less people and we are so glad we did. This was one of the best overnight stay experiences we have ever had. We stayed Room 4, known as the "Lincoln Room", which is one of the 2 rooms on the 2nd floor that have exclusive use of the upper balcony. The accommodations exceeded our expectations with all of the modern conveniences expected while staying true to the historic ambiance with antique furnishings. The owner's live on-site and are readily available. Stephanie gave us a tour of the Inn and shared it's history. She also prepared a home made breakfast for us that was outstanding! We will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I stayed one night at the Patchwork Inn and I can say for sure that we will be back. The building is beautiful and full of history. They preserved as much of the original woodwork and they could during renovations, which is a nice touch. Stephanie and Bill clearly put everything they have into making sure you have a comfortable stay. They are such kind people and great cooks too! They provided us with the most fabulous breakfast we've had in a long time. Fresh baked cookies waited for us in our room, and they provided board games, movies, and a fridge full of drinks. Thank you Stephanie and Bill for a wonderful stay!

The historic building has such character and charm but still offers very modern ammenities and services. Each room has its own bathroom with updated facilities and the bedroom decor was very simple and not overly dripping with"country charm", was very clean, attractive, and offered a very comfy bed. All the decor throughout was tastefully done, a good blend of interesting historic quaintness and modern conveniences. Loved the homemade breakfast offering of a vegetable quiche, served with mixed fresh fruit and toast. I have a meat allergy so passed on the side of smoked ham. I appreciated being asked ahead of time if I had any special dietary needs. Booking was very easy, helpful website, good descriptions of the room selections and the owners were just delightful. Over all, a very pleasant stay at a very reasonable price. My friend, who came with, had never stayed at a B & B and was so impressed that she plans to return with her husband at a later date.

My husband and I traveled to Oregon for a brief getaway for my birthday and to celebrate the Fourth of July. The location is ideal. Just a block from downtown which has lots of neat stores and bars/restaurants. Across the street is one of the largest antique stores I have every been in. The hosts, Bill and Stephaine were so nice and really made us feel at home. Our room was in the front and had a balcony right outside the door. Their gardens a very charming and the basement has lots of places to hang out if the weather isn't good. The breakfast is amazing! They also sell beer/wine/spirts for a completely normal price in the lobby. Highly recommend the inn.

My husband and I spent a night at Patchwork Inn in August 2020. Bill and Steph, who are super kind and hospitable, clearly take great pride in their B&B. The entire facility was immaculately clean, and our room was extremely comfortable. We stayed in the room Abraham Lincoln is reported to have stayed in and really enjoyed that historical tidbit. In the morning, we ate our breakfast in their lovely back garden; the food was fresh, clearly homemade, and incredibly delicious. I cannot recommend Patchwork Inn enough.

Yet another stay at a truly delightful, top shelf (tea selection, breakfast offerings, flatware, linens, decor and especially the innkeepers) establishment in a small town in which you can find all you might need within walking distance (micro brewery, chocolatier, bakery, antiques, eateries, grocery, heck - even a combo Ace Hardware/pharmacy!). Very short drives to MANY more interesting attractions. The entire Inn is impeccably maintained, the breakfast is a culinary delight and the whole Patchwork Inn experience is absolutely delightful!

The attention to detail was evident from the historical décor of our room to the modern comfort of the common areas. The hosts were truly concerned about our comfort and excelled in making us feel at home! Small things like high quality tea and assorted drinks in the fridge, hot coffee early and amazing breakfasts had a big impact on our stay.

Best-in-class everything. Softest sheets, most comfortable room, nice and quiet, no noises coming through the walls. Plenty of lounging space, and some rooms have a private outdoor balcony. Located right in the center of a great small town (Oregon), with wonderful parks nearby. The best for last; breakfast was absolutely amazing.
