Nestled along the bank of Tien River, Mekong Lodge is a charming eco-resort where design, comfort and nature are blended seamlessly together. Our lodge features 26 private bungalows (12 with pools), meticulously built to embody the local style of rural “garden cottage” surrounded by flowers and fruit trees. Right at the heart of Mekong Delta, Mekong Lodge offers a chance to explore one of the most beautiful areas in the region, which is still left untouched by modernization and development. Here, you can live not as a tourist but as a local with daily life going on around: vibrant river, fantastic floating market and quaint villages. Here, pristine tropical sun and nature are waiting for you all year round. Welcome to Mekong Lodge and see the real Vietnam that others miss!

Lovely place with beautiful gardens and pool overlooking the river. The restaurant on the waterside was fab - so relaxing watching river life float by as you eat. Food was great too. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and the bathrooms were gorgeous. Fab to have bikes to use for free and helmets and kids bikes were also available. The only thing we weren't impressed with was the water in the pool - it was really green and my daughter came out of the water with a rash under her arms. We were told they had to wait a few days before putting the cleaning chemicals in the water but this wasn't really a satisfactory explanation. If you can get this place when the pool has been cleaned, it is a lovely place to relax.

Good room with great bathroom & shower, good bed & I slept good, the only noise came from the gentle throb from the passing boats as they passed by. The gardens are beautiful as was the setting right beside the Mekong river. Breakfast buffet was very good with big selection. Staff were helpful & friendly. Nice quiet place to go to relax in a rustic setting that matches the eco lodge setting &criteria. Was impressed when I saw that the straws given with the drinks were actually made of paper. No TV in room & this is not a complaint its a positive in a hotel like this. I will definitely go back some day when in the area.

I decided to drive down from Saigon by bike. Its not too arduous a journey, although a little tip if you decide to do this, you can only access the hotel by bike and don't follow the Google directions!

The lodge itself is really beautiful. You're right on the banks of the Mekong and there are some wonderful views, especially at sunset. I was also able to join a 3 hour tour of the area for only $20. The pool is very nice and the restaurant overlooks the river and gives you very generous portions. My room was also very comfortable and I enjoyed having a little porch to sit out on in the evenings. Other rooms also had little splash pools which some kids were enjoying.

The reason this isn't a 5* review though is because everything closed so early. The restaurant is advertised as being open until 9, yet when I finished my meal at 8:30, I was in near total darkness and everyone had packed up. Worse was the pool bar. Advertised as being open until 10, I wasn't able to enjoy anytime there in the evenings as there were no staff available to serve me. More frustratingly, at only 9pm, the reception desk was also closed and deserted. I resorted to by multiple drinks with dinner and relaxing on my porch with them instead.

That gripe aside, I had a very relaxing trip

What a beautiful little gem this place is. Large clean room, excellent private outdoor style garden shower. Staff are wonderful and always ready to help. Restaurant has excellent well priced food and the Elephant ear fish was delicious and my stand out favorite dish.

We were so excited to be visiting the Mekong Delta and upon arriving at the Mekong Lodge it looked beautiful and like the perfect last stop for our Vietnam holiday. It all went downhill from there. We weren't greeted by the reception staff instead they just asked for our passports and rushed through the itinerary for the next few days which was a struggle to understand and our room wasn't ready for us upon arrival like the website or booking confirmation states it will be. The main pool and gardens were beautiful and our room with a pool was nice and rustic feel to what we were expecting but definitely not as nice as the pictures online. The restaurant staff were as equally unenthusiastic as the reception staff, and barely understood any English. The tables were sticky every time we had a meal and the food was so underwhelming and far from the expectation I had after travelling the previous 19days through Vietnam, if anything the food got worse the longer we were there, they would serve nearly the same dishes for lunch and dinner with no flavour and the look and smell put you off the food instantly and breakfast was equally just as bad. Anytime you requested something or asked for information the staff would give you a confused look talk amongst each other and still wouldnt help you with what you were requesting. The bathroom was stunning but had a gross smell as the day went on, they do have an open pipe on the floor which may be linked sewage pipe or it could the black mould clumps coming through a crack in the roof either way the room is overdue for maintenance. They have a bare doona/quilt with one sheet under it but no sheet on top of the doona/quilt leaving it visible of stains and very unappealing. The tours weren't great far from what they boast about on their website, tour guide was friendly and spoke the best english out of everyone at the resort. Cai Be floating market is non-existent, the small boat ride through the one canal was short with plenty of rubbish along the way and the old folk music was not something you would choose to see if it wasnt in the itinerary and painful on the ears.
This "resort" is far from the Mekong Delta i was hoping and looking forward to experiencing. If you want to be stranded at a "resort" that couldnt care less about their guests and feeds you below average meals and has a tour itinerary that is well outdated, please do book at the Mekong Lodge.
If you want the real Mekong Delta experience book elsewhere and save your money from this tourist trap.

Nice welcoming place next to river so you can enjoy the cathartic activity of boat / barge spotting. Some boats are noisy and the river runs 24hrs a day.
We enjoyed a check in earlier than expected however the room had been hastily changed over and there was plenty of evidence of the previous occupants. It was also clear that the room had not been properly cleaned for a while.
The lodge is remote (part of its appeal) and usual access is by boat from the tourist harbour Cai Be about 5 mins away. You can cycle in and out from town about 10mins.
Breakfast is good the pancakes seemed better than previous reviews. We only had 1 meal in the restaurant. The menu was comprehensive and food generous, expensive compared to our usual local choices but the place is set up to make money out of tourists it is a business after all.
The pool is fantastic which our 9yr old daughter lived in.
The tables riverside are ideal to watch the sunset over the river.
We didn't participate in any centre led activities instead we took some bikes out and made our own fun.
The CHICKENS, well the Cockerel also works 24hrs a day so the peaceful night of barges humming up and down the river is interrupted regularly and the bird has no volume control. I don't think they add to the appeal of the place or are necessary to retain its eco credentials. I suggest they eat them.
In summary would defo visit again, great break fro the city and the usual frenetic pace of Vietnamese life. Don't expect 5 star luxury, don't expect shopping malls, website photos are better than reality (like normal). Boat watching is addictive. If you have the ability and imagination, take a bike out for the day, take the ferry to the island opposite the lodge (from tourist harbour) and enjoy local life.

Hotel ok, we had the most expensive room with plunge pool but still basic, whilst I appreciate the signs saying all the staff are local and have been trained in hospitality there are some issues. We ordered a bottle of Delat wine it was corked and undrinkable but they refused to change it or offer money back saying it’s our fault for ordering it - would have been nicer to drink out of the Mekong, resturant menu does not change. We stayed 3 nights 2 would have been ideal as not much to do - their boat trip to floating market was ok good local handicrafts centre but only about 8 boats now in market. Hotel does have free bike hire do that was nice to have a couple hours out exploring. Didn’t appreciate 2 resturant staff picking nits out their hair with tweezers behind the kitchen area 😱

Very nice and quiet resort hidden in the vegetation. A staff with the small care and very good dishes very accessible.
A special thanks to all of staff, for they kindness and his availability!
I strongly recommend this hotel.
The resort is hidden in the trees, the food and drinks were good. We loved the pool. The stuff was always ready to help, we were a bigger group so we needed a boat to explore the island, they always helped us to arrange it for reasonable price.

We had to wait 2h30 before being checked in without offering us water just left there to hang at the reception.
Bathroom "outside" the room but actually closed by glass window atelier style which make the bathroom being like a heat incubator horrible to stay inside.
It could be nicer if the place was adult only. Having kids running in the restaurant or shouting and jumping by the pool kills the all buzz of the place no longer appropriate for relaxation.
Tourist factory place : you go in, you go out and in between you follow the activity schedule.
Overall cleanliness very average.
Probably other better places around.
I would not recommend this place to relative.

A chill ecolodge situated a little south of Cai Be, a small market town on one of the Mekong Delta estuaries. While it is not as ‘in it’ as the more touristy/busier towns of My Tho or Can Tho, it is DEFINITELY a great way to experience the Mekong Delta way of life without the crowds (or falseness that sometimes goes with tourism). The lodge (a short boat ride from town or 30 minute walk along a narrow road) has some great places to sit/chill and watch the world go by - either on the patio outside your room (we chose a garden view with mini pool was quieter and surrounded by greenery/flowers) or by the pool (happy hour starts at 4pm!) to watch the amazing sunsets. The food was traditional/plenty with seating on the edge of the river to get nice breeze in the evening. We stayed 3 days/nights - first day walked to morning market (worth it for color and bustle) and resort boat trip on 2nd day (a great way to see industries from rice and fruit, plus the change happening due to technology/transport). The resort guide, Mr Thong, is very informative and also there to help translate at any time. If you are someone who rates this property low because of food or the fact the staff are trying to understand English or foreign tourists, then that is unfortunate! I commend this resort for investing in their community and making the effort to provide for (often fussy) foreigners, who should at least smile, explain (use Google translate) and maybe try to say thank you in Vietnamese. Great job to all the team at Mekong Lodge, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Hi Sorry for late reply, this time of year don't get time on the computer very much. We found the lodge it self to be the best and cheapest to organise trnsport for you. We were a party of 4 and they charged us $80US each way for the car. Most other companians charged a per person rate and came to over $200US.

Don't know about June - since we were there on October, but it was rainy during our stay. For the bike ride we had a very light drizzle which did not affect the experience. Once we finished the bike ride in the afternoon, dark clouds were approaching - so our guide decided to head back to the lodge and postpone the rowing boat for the next morning, which worked out great. The pool is heated and the weather is hot even when there's rain - so lounging in the pool in the rain is a great option ;)
