Checked in on Hyatt app. Requested early check in - no problem. Arrived at 12:30 after seeing a room has been assigned on the app. Went to the front desk only to be told that there's a $30 charge for early check in. No way we're paying that since there's no mention of it on the app. Now waiting in the lobby until they give us the room at the regular check in time (even though it's ready).

We stayed the night for my fiancé’s birthday, dinner was great and the staff was friendly and caring. We requested a late check out which was the only thing they couldn’t accommodate us on, otherwise we had a great stay.

The hotel is old and unkept in the rooms. The staff were understaffed and provide bad customer service. In all fairness it's probably the management's fault, since a better environment creates better attitude and service by staff members.

What an amazing visit. My son & I needed a break so bad and I found this hidden gem. I love that it is off the beaten path, but close to anything you might want to do. The pool was large and filled with families but it never felt too crowded. One thing I will say is too many small kids in the hot tub. That falls on the parents though. If kids want to splash and play they should do that in the pool, not hot tub. Very small complaint. It was great too see all the kids of all ages play nice and make friends! The room had mini fridge and was clean with a bath tub. Our room had a beautiful porch with a view of the forest which was incredible. A special shout out to the staff. The gentleman who checked us in was kind and quick! The man in charge of the pool Saturday night was so sweet. The manager, Lamar is not only charming & professional but a hospitality master. I left some wine behind and he grabbed it out of the room and had it waiting for me when I returned. In most places, it would be doing gone. I am not sure I have ever experience a better hotel staff and for that aline I will be a returning guest! …

I chose Hyatt Lodge based on reputation for a short staycation and I look forward to a return visit soon. The property was clean and peaceful. I love the fact that pets are welcome as I was worried about leaving my puppy in someone else’s care.
