This is a nice hotel and is in a good area. Also close to gas stations, restaurants and businesses. A couple of negatives were that the water jug for the Guests in the breakfast area had a nasty aftertaste; several Guests made comment about it. Secondly, the breakfast was literally a pastry in a plastic wrap. When I went to check out the breakfast, knowing it would be less than normal because of Covid, they literally had three pastries under a plastic lid. I had to go driving several miles to find a place that served breakfast. On the positive, they were friendly and the rooms are suites with lots of room. Very nice. And, they had good Wi-Fi.

Booked this hotel for college bowling sectionals. The sectionals were cancelled due to Corono 19. First called the hotel, who didn't even want to talk to me and gave another number. Then sat on the phone waiting for 45 minutes to only have this hotel refuse to give me the money back. Offered me points which are completely useless to me. Oh and then offered me to apply for their credit card. Corporate then contacted me to help, but then said they could do nothing! Waste of time and money! Never again will I book with a Choice Hotel! Be careful before booking with them too!

We booked a two-queen room on the second floor. Style is transitional. Nothing about the style really makes the room look dated. We came in about 10pm. There were no obvious restaurants or grocery stores nearby open at that time other than maybe McDonalds. It turns out there is a Jewel-Osco nearby on another street and another grocery store further down North Ave (going west). There is an Aldi East of the hotel on North and a Target, which were closed. Tons of Indian restaurants nearby (many halal). Many were closed on Mondays. A couple of mosques very close. The neighborhood was not glamorous, but we saw no evidence of any crime. The room was a typical Comfort Inn design, which is a good layout. It could have used more TLC. There was a piece of food on the carpet, stains on the carpet and couch. Missing battery cover on the remote (found under the bedside table with a couple more pieces of food.) Finger prints on the coffee table, little holes and marks on the curtains. Wood has signs of age. Otherwise pretty clean. Housekeeping came about 3pm when we were coming back to the room and we had to wait for them. Breakfast was good and had a lot of options. Staff was friendly. Told us to go east about 6 miles to 290 to avoid the toll road. Might stay again if the price is good, but will stay at the Hyatt if we get a comparable deal. Microwave and fridge were clean, bathroom was clean. TV channel list and writing paper had signs they had been wet and reused. Looks like hotel is over-economizing. Very quiet on 2nd floor. Greenish tinge to lights which was very off-putting, but got used to it. Nice room when natural light is coming in.

The Comfort Suites was not so comforting. First of all, I will begin by saying, it’s all my fault for allowing my husband to book this room after our experience last year. However, we were both in need of the benefit of a jacuzzi tub. I don’t know where to start with this review... first of all, I had to place a call to the front desk probably not even an hour after being in the suite. A ton of kids were running back and forth through the hallway yelling and screaming and slamming doors. I asked the gentleman at the front desk if he could ask them to stop and he said, oh, they just came from the pool.. ooook. I thought hotels were where ppl relax and sleep, not a playground for unruly kids. Needless to say, this went on for the remainder of the night until about 1am. The next morning about 7am, we were awakened by people playing extremely loud rap music outside of the hotel in the parking lot. In addition to the loud music, the kids were up bright and early running, playing yelling and slamming doors again. Finally, my husband and I could not take it anymore so he went downstairs to speak to the manager that was on duty 9/1/19 @ approx 11am..When my husband came back to the room, he said, “well, checkout is at noon”. I was a bit confused so I asked him what the manager said. He said she basically told him there was nothing she could do about the noise and if we wanted to checkout, go ahead. Really!???? No.... “well, let me see what I can do” , no... “would you like for me to move you to another room”.. NO IM SORRY...nothing except, either deal with the noise on your 25th wedding anniversary or LEAVE! Which is exactly what we did. This place used to be nice years ago...now, it’s nothing more than a ran down, mediocre, ghetto, poorly managed, in need of a room upgrade DUMP! The sofa couch is old and need to be tossed out, the carpet is dirty and torn in spots, the microwave has a huge burn on it, the jacuzzi had hair in it, and you could clearly see where someone had there head pressed up against the headboard..ewwww!!!! I asked for Lysol, they told me they did not have any (red flag) however, I could walk down to the front desk for hand sanitizer to clean with. My husband just went out and purchased a can and of Lysol. Back to the initial review: We spent nearly $400 for 2 nights to get some rest and relaxation.. I did not pay to hear kids running in the halls like a herd of elephants and LOUD rap music being played outside of our window. The managers know 0 about hospitality or how to accommodate guests. If you are looking for a low grade place to crash, not bothered by noise and poor customer service, then this is your spot! As for me.. I have learned my lesson!

Just took a group of 43 high school students here. Rooms are top-notch; really appreciate the extra "suite" space with a pull-out sofa and little lounge area. Very clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Violet Banach, the director of sales, is incredibly helpful, flexible and courteous. We were treated well all around. There's also a McDonald's right next door, which was convenient to cure my McNugget craving. Will definitely use again the next time we go to Chicago!
