Peter and Irene were terrific hosts with great conversation when approached. We stayed in the British room which had lots of space and was as clean as any we have stayed in. Peter is a top notch chef second to none and the food was...More
Peter & Irene have a gorgeous hilltop retreat. The rooms each have a different theme and the details in the decor are excellent. Breakfast is delicious and filling. Make sure you inquire about Peter's optional suppers - they are worth it. We stayed on a...More

Be aware that there isn't a 'restaurant, per se. This is a bed and breakfast though they will serve dinner if you request it. We were sticker shocked, however, and felt significantly taken advantage of when we got the bill for the dinner we requested. It's out in the country, so you don't have much immediate choice, but my recommendation would be to have breakfast there but drive into Port Hope or elsewhere for dinner.
We stayed in the "Out of Africa" room and it did not overlook the lake but the view was still nice. It had a large double jacuzzi tub with a hand held shower nozzle. There was not a stand up shower in the room.
