visited again this weekend and to us its perfect family camping, everyone's really respectful and quiet, no - one playing crazy games of football in front of other people tents, everyone who is there is there for a purpose, walking, climbing etc. Had gorgeous bacon butties again and campsite staff are great. Facilities are clean and brilliant and all our...

Late finish from work on Saturday night and we pitched at a very quiet Langdale site, we have stayed a few times and never been disappointed, no matter the weather. It was wet when we arrived and rained most of the time we were there but it didn't stop our enjoyment. Facilities were up to there normal high standard, warm...

Stayed at the national trust campsite last weekend, we were in "dungeon ghyll" camping pod, arrived late teatime Friday night in constant rain, so glad we weren't under canvas! last time we stayed in a pod here, the pod was cold, damp and miserable, since then, they have added heaters and lighting, and an electric socket, which was so handy,...

Visiting for a weekend 4/5 February, this was my first time staying here. Although arriving in the dark, we'd soon pitched our tents and set off to sample the local hostelries. There are three excellent choices within a short walk. The shop on site sells breakfast essentials (Coffee, Tea and Bacon Baguettes) as well as other useful camping fare. The...

Great site in an amazingly beautiful part of the lakes. Staff very helpful and facilities spot on. Will be back in warmer weather! If travelling in a motorhome like us make sure you follow signs for Elterwater and Chapel Stile from Ambleside as the route our sat nav took us via Little Langdale, not recommended!

Adverse weather conditions can ruin a camping stay in the depth of winter, however the Great Langdale Campsite provides a wonderful antidote to the freezing weather. We booked a pod for two nights and it was a great place to retire to after a long walk to the Crinkles. If you treat your pod as a heated, lighted and powered...

I use this campsite a lot during the warmer months but decided to book a camping pod for new year. We stayed 2 nights, it was a lovely stay. Worth the extra money for a little bit of luxury camping. It rained very heavily on new years Eve we got soaked just walking back to the campsite so it made...

Really smart campsite in an excellent location, quality hot showers/ toilets etc.Grass pitches were nice and flat and the pods looked fun Shop on site was staffed by really friendly rangers and the bacon baguettes on offer in the morning were most agreeable! Shop was well stocked and you can do many walks directly from the campsite. There are 3...

This campsite offers spectacular natural and uninterrupted scenery of the Lake Districts mountains, good for big groups or families. Campsite shop useful and in a good location to go for walks. Rural location so a car is a must.
