Stayed for 2 nights in this wonderful location. The views are stunning (when you can see them of course). The campsite is basic and some of the facilities dated - but you have all you need and the drying room is one of the best I have used. Unfortunately the weather was not good while we were there so did... More

Very well run and managed campsite in the middle of the Lake District. Although they assign you a pitch, there is a first come first served area which you can choose to camp on. There are separate areas for families, with at least 4 fields of tents, plus camper pitches and Yurts / small cabins. There are toilet /showers blocks... More

Great campsite. Fantastic facilities (including drying room!). Well managed camping - all tents need to be 6m apart so it doesn't feel crowded. and of course one of the best locations you could possibly hope for. Helpful staff too.

The location of this campsite is really wonderful - such a peaceful location and yet relatively easy to get to. When we were there it wasn't too busy and it was lovely and quiet, just beautiful. The facilities are basic and a bit dated, but they were clean and perfectly functional. The drying room was a great idea - I... More

I have been coming to this site for years. Can be busy in the summer but it never disappoints. Basic but good facilities and one of the most stunning locations in the Lakes for me. Good pubs nearby and some great walks. Try Jacks Rake on Pavey Ark if you want a good Lakeland scramble, not for the faint hearted!

A large, drunken group of around 7 people kept us and those around us awake until quarter to two in the morning. Other campers asked them to keep the noise down and were threatened. The campers who asked them to quieten down complained in the morning but the staff refused to disperse the group, move them to the group area... More

Hi Steve H Sorry you were disturbed on the campsite – done a bit of checking and from what I can gather, Saturday am we received a single noise complaint which was acted upon immediately, the people involved very apologetic and gave assurances that there would be no repetition. The situation was monitored and no further problems arose. Noise on... More

Ignore the guy that said he wish there was less trees on Google Reviews. This place is amazing and the staff could not have been more helpful during our stay. So close to some brilliant walks and the bacon sandwiches are amazing. Great place and a great stay

I stayed here for 4 nights in September. Staff are really friendly and chilled out. Site wasn't busy so had a wide choice of spots to camp. Facilities plentiful and very clean. Site shop is really useful. Location is to die for - simply fabulous. Nearby ODG hotel added bonus. Dog friendly and my collie loved it. Only negatives are... More

An excellent basic campsite. The highlight are the bacon buns they serve until 10.30am which are fresh backed rolls for £3. They also do a few other breakfast things. The only thing i would like to see is wifi atleast around reception as there is no phone signal and it would be great to check weather forecast etc

I visited this camp site with two friends. It is well located being within walking distance of some good walking especially Crinkle Crags and Bowfell. The ground is very stony and makes erecting tents difficult. It had also been raining heavily before we arrived and the ground was boggy in areas. The toilet block is reasonably clean ( we generally... More
