We came in October, for 3 nights. We stayed in a Yurt. The Yurt was lovely, and once we got the fire going, it warmed up lovely. There were lots of people there, and the staff at the shop were always ready to help, whether it was the gas finishing in the cooker, or suggestions in where to walk. Only...

If you are into camping and hiking then this is the place to pitch your tent. At the foot of Side Pike ( great short hike ) vith the stunning views to Langdale Pikes. The campground offers really good facilities AND a drying room for those wet days. If you hike, bike or bus here - national trust gives you...

Great location - launch from here to do lots of walking around and up the Scafell massif. Also lots of climbing and cycle routes nearby. Great langdale is very secluded, at the end of a valley. 3 nearby pubs - old dungeon gyll is closest (5 min walk max) and further up the valley. Looks really nice. Do not confuse...

I stayed on the NT campsite with my mate for a few nights in October. We were lucky enough to book Basecamp tipi for our first night. For the two of us it was great as there was tonnes of space for our gear. The best bits are the wood burning stove which kept us warm and make you feel...

Stayed for 2 nights in this wonderful location. The views are stunning (when you can see them of course). The campsite is basic and some of the facilities dated - but you have all you need and the drying room is one of the best I have used. Unfortunately the weather was not good while we were there so did...

Very well run and managed campsite in the middle of the Lake District. Although they assign you a pitch, there is a first come first served area which you can choose to camp on. There are separate areas for families, with at least 4 fields of tents, plus camper pitches and Yurts / small cabins. There are toilet /showers blocks...

Great campsite. Fantastic facilities (including drying room!). Well managed camping - all tents need to be 6m apart so it doesn't feel crowded. and of course one of the best locations you could possibly hope for. Helpful staff too.

The location of this campsite is really wonderful - such a peaceful location and yet relatively easy to get to. When we were there it wasn't too busy and it was lovely and quiet, just beautiful. The facilities are basic and a bit dated, but they were clean and perfectly functional. The drying room was a great idea - I...

I have been coming to this site for years. Can be busy in the summer but it never disappoints. Basic but good facilities and one of the most stunning locations in the Lakes for me. Good pubs nearby and some great walks. Try Jacks Rake on Pavey Ark if you want a good Lakeland scramble, not for the faint hearted!
