Lovely boutique hotel. This is my second stay with many more to come. . Perfect for a romantic getaway. Spacious, lovely, pristine rooms. Wonderful little touches such as nice linens, great shower, assortment of bed pillows. Attentive staff and great location. Parking on site is also really nice.
The hotel is in a great location for exploring the area on foot. The bath and shower are very substantial in the corner king. The upcycled bank/office furniture was a bit impractical but adds a unique touch to the room décor. My stay was during covid-19 restrictions, so the hotel restaurant was closed and the hotel was a bit short staffed but they offered complimentary fruit, snacks, and drinks.
La Banque Hotel was our choice when in the area for a few days to condo hunt with our daughter. It’s ideally located in the heart of quaint Homewood, which is within easy driving distance to the suburban towns nearby. Little shops, restaurants, a great Starbucks area all within a short walk, too. We had two rooms and each was well appointed. Beds are comfortable and the bathrooms well stocked. Daily housekeeping was attentive and appreciated. In the morning a continental breakfast in the lobby was just fine - we are not breakfast people so it was enough for us. The hotel’s restaurant is still coming out of covid hours but was very good. We enjoyed a late in the day glass of wine, followed by dinner which was excellent. Service was friendly and more than adequate. Parking is great - right there, and safe as a police station is close by! The town seems very safe as well. When in the area again we would certainly re visit this property.…
Spent three nights there recently and was pleasantly surprised . The bed was very comfortable and the room decorated nicely. Had drinks two nights and dinner one night in the restaurant adjacent to the huge lobby. Friendly bartenders both evenings, with nice selection of crafted cocktails. The gym was huge and open 24 hours with alot of equipment you don't see even in the large hotel gyms. Continental complementary breakfast was the only weak spot I felt ...a pot of coffee , instant oatmeal and a few packaged Pop Tarts and cookies were the only items. Everyone was very helpful with directions and suggestions to restaurants nearby. Would stay again.
Very clean and antique features. Like the transition from the original bank to a hotel and restaurant. Really enjoyable experience. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Restaurant had good food and cocktails. Close to train station. Walking distance to restaurants nearby.
La Banque Hotel Homewood is a lovely hotel for those staying in the area. For those who do not know, this hotel used to be a bank for locals back in the day. If the name didn’t give it away, when you look at the entrance to the hotel restaurant, you can see the sliding doors of what used to be the bank vault! It’s quite a cool place to stay once you know the history of it. The hotel is located right in the middle of downtown Homewood. There is usually a small farmer’s market on Sundays with live music if you stay over the weekend. The hotel room was very clean, and the bed was quite comfortable to sleep on. The hotel staff was professional, responsive, and accommodative of requests. There is a conference room that you must pay to use, however if nobody else has booked it, the staff might let you just use it free of charge. I would recommend anyone who is traveling through the area stay here.…
My travel budget does not usually stretch to the price range of this hotel. However, after a year and a half of lockdown, not going anywhere, I was up for a splurge. Glad I was! This is a lovely, small hotel, less than 20 rooms, all well-appointed. The décor throughout is lovely and elegant. The desk staff were friendly. The hotel in in the middle of Homewood with many restaurants within walking distance or a short drive. The building is only 2 stories, which is in keeping with the rest of the town, and was originally a bank building (hence the name, I assume). Despite being in the middle of town and across the street from a railroad track the room was very quiet. It was so pleasant we decided to stay for a second night! Our room featured 2 queen beds, a relaxing chair, desk & chair, TV, mini fridge, and a Keurig (or Keurig style) coffee maker. The bathroom was large with a tub. Some of the rooms come with a shower only so if you have a preference make sure to check. …
Quiet, well kept, good staff, this boutique hotel has everything a quiet visitor might want. Along with fabulous decor. The hours on the hotel restaurant website aren't correct for Sundays anymore, but the hours on Google are.
We visited in a cross county trip avoiding the chain hotels. This hotel was a highlight of our trip. The ambiance and comfort far exceeded the chains. Service was excellent . Dinner in the restaurant was very tasty. Why stay in a Marriott or Hilton when there is a gem like this hotel?
What a gem. We stayed at La Banque on our road trip from Virginia to Madison, Wisconsin, to take my son back to college. I searched for a place near Chicago that gave me the correct answers to my coronavirus questions: Sanitize the room? How? What's your vacancy rate? Arriving after a 10-hour drive, we were very pleasantly surprised. Not only are the hotel and the rooms beautiful, they were spic and span and observing social distancing. The restaurant was operating, too -- with tables in what used to be the outdoor drive-through for the bank. The rooms and linens are luxurious. This morning, I went for a walk and was delighted to see a giant Union-Pacific freight train creeping along at the end of the block. Charming. Recommend for anyone heading through the area on a college or family trip.…
