We visited in a cross county trip avoiding the chain hotels. This hotel was a highlight of our trip. The ambiance and comfort far exceeded the chains. Service was excellent . Dinner in the restaurant was very tasty. Why stay in a Marriott or Hilton when there is a gem like this hotel?
What a gem. We stayed at La Banque on our road trip from Virginia to Madison, Wisconsin, to take my son back to college. I searched for a place near Chicago that gave me the correct answers to my coronavirus questions: Sanitize the room? How? What's your vacancy rate? Arriving after a 10-hour drive, we were very pleasantly surprised. Not only are the hotel and the rooms beautiful, they were spic and span and observing social distancing. The restaurant was operating, too -- with tables in what used to be the outdoor drive-through for the bank. The rooms and linens are luxurious. This morning, I went for a walk and was delighted to see a giant Union-Pacific freight train creeping along at the end of the block. Charming. Recommend for anyone heading through the area on a college or family trip.…
Stayed last weekend, they were very accommodating and upgraded us to an awesome corner suite with jetted tub and walk in rain shower. Nice and quaint town, friendly people. Room needed a better variety of pillows, ones we had were flat. A microwave would be nice too. All in all it was a nice room for the price we got. Thanks for a great stay.
My wife and I were disappointed. Rooms were clean and furnishings were modern and comfortable. However, for this price to stay in the South suburbs, we expected much more attention to detail. Breakfast offerings were very limited (containers of yogurt and packaged fruit, some bread and pastries, canned juice) despite the hotel having a restaurant on site. The TV in the room did not work and we were told by the front desk that that happens all the time. On check in we were given a printed paper with the wifi password, but the password was wrong - there is evident confusion between "La" and "Le". As another reviewer commented, electric outlet covers were loose in our room.
Coming from Crown Point, Indiana, I took my husband for a mini overnight getaway for his birthday which included dinner at a restaurant in Homewood- prompting me to look for a nearby hotel. I came across La Banque and was intrigued by it’s history so I booked a room. The hotel manager, Meg, as well as the staff, went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The restaurant is as stunning and the service there was some of the best we’ve received in quite some time. Though we didn’t dine there, only had pre dinner cocktails (which were delicious) we look forward to doing so in the near future! I definitely recommend this hotel and we will 100% be back!
