This is a beautiful park. two stars because
1. most days we had a raw sewage smell by pool and camper
2. limited hours to use equipment for activities. 11am- 5pm weekdays.
3. broken services. splash park closed, store closed. no ice, ice cream down
4. young adults were nice but didn't know anything.
5. park fee $40 and reservation fee. Isn't making a reservation a reservation to hold a spot. $35 for a spot.
suggestions- bring your own equipment, call ahead for what is up and running

Hi Janet, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are happy that you enjoyed the beauty of the park. We appreciate you sharing your concerns, and we are sorry that your experience fell short of expectations this time. We have a variety of site locations throughout the park, and you may prefer one farther from the dump station. Activity equipment is available for overnight reservations and can be turned in the next day. The store and splash pad were each closed one day due to unavoidable situations, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience. The resort amenity fee is $10 per night, and the site lock fee is optional. Regardless of whether you lock in your site selection, you are assured of the chosen site type, though the site number may change for unlocked sites. We encourage all guests to stop by our office with any questions or concerns that may arise during your stay so we can respond in a timely manner. We hope you still found much to enjoy in the Outdoors.

This may be lengthy, but I'm going to try and cram all the issues in as briefly as possible. Of everything we disliked, the EXTREMELY rude employees were the WORST. Upon arrival/check-in, we were yelled at, (no exaggeration), by the employee through a window that we were in the wrong lane. Although the 4 of us knew we read the signs correctly, (one lane for check in, one for existing guests, etc.), we changed lanes & went inside to check in. Once we got inside, the employee told us she was sorry & we had been in the correct lane; the other employee that checked us in was VERY nice so we thought all would be well. As we learned thoughout the week, the initial yeller & a third employee who was by far the rudest of them all, seemed to have chips on their shoulders about EVERYTHING. As gates have to be raised when you come back after going somewhere, they take their time & appear to take pleasure in making guests wait as long as they want you to wait just to get back in. I would NEVER stay there again for this reason alone. Now, I will try & summarize the rest: "cabins" are actually little trailers smaller than bedrooms in my house with no TVs; also, not something we felt secure in during the violent storms during a couple nights after the recent flooding there. Low pressure in the small showers with hot water that won't last long enough for one person to shower, therefore us & the other familes we knew there used the community showers in the "plaza" daily, which means gathering all your supplies/clothing & making the trek back and forth. Linens were not clean, crumbs in foldout sofa, therefore no one slept there. Wi-fi isn't free & didn't work the week we were there & those who paid got their money back IF you went to complain. Lakes have moss & true fishermen like my husband tire of catching little catfish. Not exactly the place for bass fishing. I was looking forward to playing tennis on the advertised courts as we play almost daily & due to the overgrown trees with branches looming over both courts, you literally hit branches with your racket when going up for shots, not to mention the cracked courts with big sticks and branches to step on & trip over. We played for a few minutes one day & didn't go back. Pool was nice. You couldn't pay me to go back.

Since we had seen that the concrete slap sites were SMALL and CRAMPED, we chose the new "spacious" lake front sites. But, they weren't much bigger, the grass wasn't developed, and with the rain we ended up in a mud pit. All the amenities are included in the price, which would have been nice, except for it rained all weekend and we couldn't use them; the only amenity would have have used was the wireless, and that wasn't inluded.
We were charged extra for having 5 (even though, again, we couldn't use any of the amenities) while the site next to us only had 2 and they were not given a "discount".
We were charged extra per night since it was a holiday, even after we were required to pay for 3 nights, since it was a holiday.
We were charged extra since our site had 50 amp, even though we didn't use 50 amp and didn't request 50 amp.
Overall, it was a very expensive, disappointing weekend.

We have been seasonal guests for 7 years straight. We haven't moved sites but in 7 years our yearly rate has increased from $2200 to over $5400. In the past 7 years the cleanliness of the park has severely deteriorated. The customer service is absolutely non-existent. The water coming from the wells on the property are unsanitary as there is a meat processing plant directly adjacent to the property. The smell of the water coming out of those wells is that of raw sewage. The park "tests" the water only at the beginning of the year immediately after they've chlorinated the wells. The gate "security cards" are barcodes that people hand out to family and friends who simply make copies of them thereby making the part unsecure. Over the winter people came into the park and broke into people's campers.
There are no background checks for seasonal campers. This means there are predators staying in this park with young children. It is unbelievable.
The lakes are disgusting. They are stagnant and are breeding grounds for mosquitos. You cannot be outside after dark without being eaten alive.
I realize this review will result in a form letter from the park's management saying "Thank you" with a list of excuses why the park has gone downhill. They will say the price went up because they no longer charge seasonals for electricity (about $300 per year for us). I expect nothing to be done. The only solution is to fire everyone who works at the park, sell it to someone local who cares and bring it back to it's previous glory. However, that won't happen. The current company/management is determined to run the business into the ground.
We aren't returning. We are writing reviews on every social media site possible. I hope more of you do the same.

My family and I have stayed here twice now, and will continue to do so in the future. First, the price may seem high, but when you consider just how much there is for the kids to do, it's worth it in my opinion. And let's be serious, this is a family resort meant for the kids. As mentioned in some reviews, the ponds are mossy and there is goose poop everywhere, but get real... you're camping not staying at the Ritz. If I had one complaint, it would be that I did not catch any fish this last weekend... but still had a good time.

We stayed a few weekends in 2019
we never had a bad time. Everyone treated us well and our sites were pretty good a few times we had to sweep a little but that doesn't hurt anyone. We have several weekends
reserved for 2020 and can't wait to go. Also referred a friend for a week in July we really love this place and it will probably be our only campground we go to because we haven't found another we think compares.

Lakefront was next to a green such covered pond infested with frogs. Frogs every where. Huge frogs, little feogs, dead frogs. One of the main kid activity was invading our site all day and eve long to go for frogs. Unsupervised Kids everywhere. The adults were too busy cruising in their gold caet, around and around ariund. Least relaxing place we have ever stayed.

My family and i rent the cabins that are over 100 dollars a night. We were so excited to participate in the Halloween site decorating contest and spent over 300 dollars in decor and won! When we turned in our free night coupon for winning they said sorry it's only for regular sites and not cabins. No solution or kindness from jay if you are not part of the season people who own lots you are treated like crap. We come all the time and thought it was awsome until we had this horrible expeirence. All we wanted was to was collect our prize. We will never return. Never

Not only were the office people EXTREMELY rude, (and they are the owners!!) the entire establishment was dirty, and gross. Several times there wasn't any TP in the restrooms..... garbage overflowing and stinking, the cabins are falling apart, they smelled and it was very dirty. The linens smelled. The lifeguards are not even CERTIFIED, and barely keep their eyes on the swimmers, The food is over priced and not very good either. I was extremely disappointed as I stayed last year and it was very clean.I will surely find another place to go next year.

We camp at SLR for 3 days Fri. Sat. and Sun. it was a great time. I do not know why people complaint about the place being expensive, it is not. Once you pay for your site all of the amenities are included, all we had to do is leave my wife's D.L. at the club house and our two kids played all day 15 and 16 yr. old. All we had to buy was golf balls $2.00 each for mini-golf and you can golf all you want, if you want to save a bit you can bring your own golf balls and ping pong balls .52 cents. My two kids stayed busy during the entire 3 days. We are going back October 10th weekend with multiple families. We drove 3 hours and it was well worth it. We had some noisy neighbors on Friday night and at 1am I called the on duty staff which ended up being Jay the owner. Within 20 min he was talking to the noisy campers and it was resolved, did not have any more issues with noisy neighbors for the rest of the weekend. We even had a staff member looking for a camp site that needed a compressor for some camper's bikes, no one does that, great staff great time. If you want some great biscuits and gravy you need to be at the club house on Saturday or Sunday they are home made and are great. We have been camping for a long time and this is the best place we have found, Thanks to all of the staff at SLR. We will see you on Oct. 10th weekend.

We had campsite 155 and it was good but had little to no shade I would have like 154 or 153 which had better shade. If you are looking for lakeside campsites.
