From first booking online to my arrival home this was the world's best vacation. My husband and I made this trip our honeymoon. For those unfamiliar with St. Regis and their butler service; it is essentially a service that plans your trip and attends to your every need or concern from initial booking to arrival home. This meant that we were contacted after booking and told them our interests food allergies (husband has a severe nut allergy) and preferences. At the airport on arrival an airport butler was waiting with signage and retrieved our bags and shuttled us to an air-conditioned car and then to airport lounge while we waited for our seaplane. When we arrived to the island we were greeted by the manager Harish, and paired with our butler Mahir who showed us the island while we sipped on fresh coconut water. Upon arrival to the villa our bags were in the rooms and Mahir even offered to unpack so we didn't miss a second of sun and fun. We were presented with an incredible mock itinerary that included, reservations at their incredible dining facilities, adventurous excursions like night snorkeling and surfing on a deserted island and yoga classes, and spa treatments like massages a blue hole experience. Mahir took excellent care of us every step of the way offering rides to each adventure, pressing our clothes for us, freshening up our room whenever we left, drawing warm bubble baths and leaving treats like cake and champagne. He was available 24/7 for whatever need we requested, Every waiter and staff member on the island greeted us and verbalized my husband's nut allergy which put us at ease. The food and drinks were top notch and all the chef's made it clear that they were open to any special requests we would like to make. At one point Sam a waiter at the beach restaurant Crust and Craft, heard we were surfing and contacted our butler to lend us his personal GoPro to assure we documented the excursion. We both left the vacation teary eyed as it was just so incredibly personalized and unique. From our amazing and thoughtful butler Mahir to the incredible natural beauty of the Maldives, you truly cannot go wrong booking this venue. We hope to go back in the next few years.

The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort is nothing short of spectacular. From the rooms to the service to the facilities, we were amazed by the care put into every part of the resort. We stayed at an overwater suite and the room was absolutely immaculate. The patio included a cabana, loungers with an umbrella, and a private pool. It was the perfect mix for as much sun as you wanted. The hammock over the water was a great touch as we laid out there to watch the fish swim under suite or to stare at the stars on perfectly dark nights. Besides the deck, the room had every amenity one ever dreamed of from a fully stocked bar and wine fridge to every toiletry imaginable. The rooms exceeded every expectation. The service was so thoughtful. Our butler took incredible care of us. She continuously dropped little surprises for us during our honeymoon from macarons to chocolates to other goodies. When it rained, she was ready with a covered buggy and umbrellas to escort us around. Lastly, we requested a special Indian snack as part of our last meal and surprise, it was the amuse bouche that evening . Beyond the butler, the rest of the island's staff were amazing. When it rains, the grounds staff actually goes around the island to sweep away sitting water to eliminate mosquitoes. The food and beverage team went out of their way to offer us items from the secret menu like a special Maldivian breakfast. What excellent service! Lastly, the facilities on the island are so well designed. Many of the restaurants are open-air, yet we never had to deal with bugs or mosquitoes. The same care that goes into sweeping away sitting water goes into the plant selection and use of smoke to reduce pests. Each building has a purpose on the island. If it rains or your don't want to be out in the sun, there's a building with ping pong, billiards, and games. The ocean sports center is impeccable with PADI 5-star quality SCUBA instruction and an endless array of other ocean activities. The library has an extensive collection of reading materials plus a printer and computer in case an emergency arises. Whatever your proclivities, there's something on the island for you. The St Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort may sit on a small island, but it is a perfect getaway. From families to honeymooners, the island and its staff will take care of you and help you have a perfect vacation.

The service is the best we have ever had. Every staff member went out of their way to make our experience special. The waitstaff, the housekeeping, the butler, the manager, the diving center and the kitchen staff were great. The chefs at Alba and Orientale are very talented and made some exceptional meals for us-Continental, Indian and Asian. Sonny was wonderful. They accommodated our dietary restrictions and made every meal special. It is not easy to run a hotel in the Maldives. But they do it with tremendous style, care and attention.

The Maldives Vormuli St Regis is a magical stay where your every whim is cattered to and your every moment is enjoyable. The sea is warm and pleasant fish swim around every cranny of the ocean and activities keep you busy and relaxed all day. Travelled from Canada for our honeymoon. Having worked in and stayed in many 5 star properties I can safely say this resort is truly a step above. The high standards, attention to detail and friendliness of staff at all levels truly sets it apart We did have poor weather for much of our week but the weather changes quickly here so we still enjoyed lots of sun, snorkelling and a couple of great sunsets We are Marriott Titanium so enjoyed complementary breakfast though the breakfast is so varied and fresh that it would represent good value even if paying. Don’t be shy about ordering off menu items including the traditional Maldivian breakfast. Butler service was excellent, we’d read great reviews on Ismail and requested him and were so glad we did- he’s truly exceptional and goes out of his way day and night to ensure all his guests are happy. Decanter was meant to be closed for our week but they accommodated us for a private dinner which we were very grateful for. Sunny the F&B manager is not only a knowledgeable sommelier but also a great storyteller, and the food was stellar especially the Maldivian lobster dish. We had great massages at Irridium Spa which is in the process of reopening. A special thank you to our therapists Widi and Jolie. All the staff here are incredibly hard working and friendly, there are too many to mention but in particular- Dina, Ilsiyar and Nafiu at Alba, Imad at Orientale, Nasheed the Operations Manager, and of course Ajim the chef at Alba- he is truly a superstar with a great future ahead of him All in all our best vacation ever and we hope to come back in future! Most importantly remember that most of not all of the staff here work 7 days/week and 12-15 hours a day. And they are away from their families and children for months at a time. Please be kind to the staff, ask them about their lives and tip generously and in cash. Yes there are standard gratuities added at the property but having worked in the industry know that not much of this gets through to the front line staff at the end of the day

My wife and I have just returned from our 8-day stay at this magical piece of heaven. It has been one of the most spectacular holidays in a long long time. Will be pretty hard to beat. Here are my thoughts across a number of areas.... Communication Right from when we started the email communication with St. Regis, the promptness and level of detail was excellent. We were going to celebrate a milestone birthday and had requested a few things.. that were acknowledged (and honoured). Definitely email the property and ask all you want. They are very efficient. Travel Our flight into Male arrived late and I had to arrange for an overnight at Sheraton. Which meant, a speedboat ride late in the night. It was so well arranged, right from when we landed, we were literally ushered to the jetty and everything was taken care off. The journey back next morning to The Great Room (which is when the St. Regis Magic started) the lounge at Male Airport was also effortless. For anyone arriving late into Male, the Sheraton is a good stopover/over-nighter. The Great Room @ Male is a special place. Our hostess Unoo was so warm and welcoming and made us feel special. We were shown a video message from our butler Abanoub welcoming us. Prior to boarding our sea-plane, we enjoyed the (complimentary) delightful food and beverages before being escorted to our flight (OMG the over water scenery of all the islands...). The arrival (45-min flight) into St Regis at its own private jetty is the idea start. Staff all standing and waving you welcome, to then being ushered toward ocean facing seats and a welcome fresh coconut water was awesome. From there, we were in the hands of our butler Abanoub, who took us around the property on a golf-cart and explained everything to us. We also connected on WhasApp and that became our point of communication for EVERYTHING with the butler over the next 8-days. Accommodation We had booked in a beach villa, which was just spectacular. Offering us privacy but still a beautiful view to the lagoon, it was exceptional. There is NOTHING that St. Regis hasn't thought of. You think of a thing, and its in the room. Beach bag, beach footweat (flipflops/thongs), Mosquito Repellant, Dental Kit, plenty of drinking water (replaced daily), Life jackets, i could go on.... You literally have to pack your clothes - they have everything else! Being able to just walk out of our room, right on to a private beach, sit on the swing, snorkel.... its absolutely insane. We were lucky (and grateful) to be upgraded to an over-water sunrise villa. This was an absolute treat. The amenities etc are almost identical, except, here you just walk down the steps right into the lagoon and have a swim with hundreds of fish, eagle/sting-rays and more. Also note, each of the accommodations have 2 bicycles. We used them a fair bit, was perfect to get around the island. Or, just message your butler and someone shows up within minutes. Service St Regis is renowned for its service. They put it on is style here. The property is so well maintained. for e.g. after the morning breakfast service (which is just mind blowingly awesome) when everyone has left and the sand all around the Alba restaurant has been laden with foot-marks, a couple of guys just casually walk around flattening it all out and making it all neat n tidy. There are maintenance staff working all around the place and the property looks pristine. The housekeeping cleans the rooms twice a day. It is beyond crazy how good a job they do. The entire place just looks like right out of an Instagram photo shoot - everywhere you look. The Irridium Spa is a MUST, just the perfect setting. Morning Yoga is the idea way to start the day, excellent instructors. Food While we were there, the property was getting itself setup for the upcoming peak season., As such, a couple of restaurants were closed. However, that didn't matter at all. Alba - for breakfast (ate like a king), lunch (we never had any) and dinner. Stupidly good Indian and Italian food. Orientale - Asian food... dinner... the most insanely delicious food. Crust and Craft - supposedly a casual on the beach lunch place, but makes the most finger licking good pizzas.... went there twice (also had half-n-half pizza) Whale Bar - for sunset cocktails (NEVER miss a sunset here.. NEVER) and grilled food. People This section needs a separate post of its own. The place is teeming with people that WANT you there and enjoy interacting with you. I will name a few, but there are literally tens of them.... Our butler Abanoub. An absolute delight of a man. Full of energy and boundless enthusiasm. I planned a surprise for my wife and had a separate chat going with Abanoub and he played the "i have no idea whats going on" so well. He had to ask/observe just once what we liked/enjoyed.... and it happened. My wife enjoys fresh coconut water.. every day, around 4 PM there would be 2 coconuts and a plate of fresh fruits in our villa with a message (surprise for you in the room). He would constantly ask us about a range of different things (now i know why) and make recommendations so that we had a better experience. Once, he messaged us saying that the Irridium Spa was closing down for maintenance, so i have already moved your massage to a day earlier and I have also changed your blue hole experience (must do) so you dont miss out. The guy was literally like our private genie who made stuff happen! I also arranged for a Vommuli Private Luxury Beach dinner for the birthday and Abanoub helped me plan that and keep it a secret! Sous Chef Rahul Rahul has worked his magic with his staff and the food that comes out. I know its been mentioned by other posters, but... the food here is just ridiculously good. rahul would come and talk to us (and every other guest) morning/evening. it was so wonderful to enjoy his hospitality. Once my wife mentioned to him about a taro cake that she had had, next day... there was a suprise waiting for us in our room.. compliments Rahul. Chef Ajim This guy is what legends are made of. There is QR Code to order food, but.. we rarely ever used it. Ajim would come chat with us, ask us.. "what would you like to eat for dinner/anything special for breakfast.." and it would just happen. Tandoori Lobster, Goan Shrimp Curry, Choley Bhatura, Rava Dosa, Besan Cheela, Mutton Biryani... i could go on..... and each one a master piece! Sunny The F&B director (A fellow Aussie) made some excellent recommendations. On his advice, we had a meal at The Oriental. Chef Simon there was just brilliant with his dishes. The steamed grouper, and all the other foods were spectacular. Dina & Ilsiyar were the most welcoming staff at Alba. But there were so many (literally everyone) working at Alba, Crust, Whale bar... were the most warm and friendly people. We thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with them. After the 2nd day, they literally knew our drink preferences, which fruits we liked, if we liked our tea with more/less milk... the attention to detail was just unthinkable. Special mention to Opi at the Whale Bra who sent us a message through her colleague as we were leaving on her day off. Its these little gestures that make you feel warm and welcomed. The staff working at the beach, setting up the umbrellas, towels... so careful and methodical, you are brilliant. GM Vincent I've heard good things about him. Clearly under his leadership the place is running like clockwork. However, while I did notice him walking around and chatting with a number of guests through our 8-day stay, we didn't have the pleasure of speaking with him, as I would have personally complimented him on his excellent work. Final word: This is a magical place. The service, the people and the facilities are exceptional. We were lucky to have been blessed with 7-full days of glorious sunshine despite risking a holiday in the off/wet season. Do yourself a favour and get here. I would think this place is suited for couples / grownups. While there is stuff for kids to do, its not your typical resort kinda place. While the Vommuli house does have board games, tennis, table tennis etc etc.... Overall, a holiday par excellent.... cant wait to get back there ! Also - ladies (and gents) - forget about your expensive footwear. Don't need em. Just beach slippers - all day - everyday.

I am writing this review while staying at the ST Regis. We have another 6 days to go :-) ST Regis is definitely an upscale resort with spacious accommodation and great food options. It is extremely pricy but that should not be a surprise for this hotel brand in the Maldives. The so-called butler service should not be overrated. It is simply somebody that is the interface between yourself and the resort for restaurant bookings. In a way, it makes hotel management less accessible, giving us mixed feelings. The main issue with this resort is that it comes short when it comes to loyalty benefits. I am a Titanium member with Marriott and am used to getting a room upgrade, free breakfast and 20% discount on F&B. We did get a bottle of Champagne on arrival which was nice. The breakfast is free for my wife and myself. This is indeed a Bonvoy rule, but I have never seen a hotel that enforces it, especially when we booked a large 2-bedroom villa, sleeping 4. Our children are 13 and 16 and we had to pay 80USD per child per day for breakfast. The potential room upgrade was not even mentioned on arrival, also a first for me. The famous 20% discount on F&B is also not available at the hotel, which to us is the biggest disappointment, especially after investing in Marriott for the past 20 years. If you expect Platinum or Titanium rewards, there are probably better options.

Despite the hiccups on the first days of your stay, we are glad that we were able to address your comments while you were on the island. Thank you for commending your butler Saraah and as you mentioned, despite your initial scepticism about the butler service, you came to appreciate the service considering all the coordination that happens behind the scenes, your butler has been great. In addition to that, it is rewarding to here that you had a memorable food and beverage experience provided by Sunny, Ahmed Sifaz, Jenif, Nafiu, Juju and Usam And definitely Shigaam for keeping your villa impeccably clean. To start with, everyone was very considerate among the staff about our special occasion and any wishes we may have. Our butler, Ali was also super helpful in EVERYTHING - getting rooms done at the right time, Champagne to our room, room change. The GM was super engaged, reacted quickly about any issues that may surface. The staff in the restaurants were also great - overqualified for waiters almost, and super engaging. That was great. Our absolut favourite was The Orientale and some people took particular care of us (with special treatments), such as for example Shuaau (manager), Jenif (waiter - super attentive) and Imad. At the pool, Ishaq went beyond the usual to make sure we‘re happy and taken care of! Overall we had a great experience and are thankful for the time spent at the St Regis. We also decided to book again with Bonvoy for our India travel later this year, during our stay :)

One word, AMAZING! Ernie, our butler, went far and beyond with her service, our amazing experience was thanks to her. Also, Vincent, the GM, chat with us and provided excellent insights about the resort. Lastly, the chef Rahul, amazing amazing food and service. Definitely, we will come back.
