Anantara Kihavah is our favorite in the Maldives. It checks all the boxes. Gorgeous island, best house reef for snorkeling and diving, great kids club, outstanding service, best food in the Maldives, incredible underwater restaurant, super star gazing telescope, have been 6 times to the Maldives. Always to a new resort. Four Seasons Landaa, One&Only, Velaa, Kanuhura, and Anantara Kihavah. This past February was the first time we repeated a resort and were not disappointed. First time we stayed in over the water villa, this time on beach villa. Both were amazing. I prefer Beach Villas as I felt like it was more private and easier with small children. Highly recommended. We can’t wait to go back 🏝️
Just back from a week in Anantara Kihavah - it has been truly wonderful. The friendliness of the staff, the luxurious villa, the quality of the food, the impeccable service (provided by everyone and of course hour villa host Ifoo), the combination of ocean-beach-green, the nearby reef,... it all adds up to an unforgettable stay. You can see and feel that the staff does everything to ensure that you can relax and not have to think of anything, which makes this place highly recommendable if you want to be away from the busy world... I am not writing a lot in terms of reviews, but when it is extremely well deserved, I do so. Thank you Kihavah - keep up the great efforts.
We loved staying at Anantara Kihavah and we are definitely coming back. We loved the food and dining experience especially sea underwater restaurant, we loved the water activities and we got to cruise and we see dolphins which we very much enjoyed
We recently spent a week at this resort and had an absolutely amazing time. Located about 35 mins by seaplane from Male, we could really find nothing negative to say. We were greeted by the manager and introduced to our villa host Zidhan. He looked after us extremely well during our stay attending to any requests we had from restaurant bookings to spa treatments. Nothing was too much trouble. We had an over water villa with uninterrupted views across the Indian Ocean. The room was enormous with a very comfortable super king bed as well as sunken bath and indoor and outdoor showers. The deck had both individual sun beds and a shaded day bed. All of this was looked after on a daily basis by our room attendant Jimmy. He always managed to know when we were out so that he could service the room without interrupting us. There are several restaurants to choose from - Manzula for Italian, Spice for Asian, Fire for Japanese and Sea, the underwater restaurant. Weekly themed buffets were also served at Plates where breakfast was. All the food was excellent especially at Spice where the chef was extremely helpful when it came to producing gluten free variations of some of the dishes. One tip if you have a gluten intolerance is ask whether a dish can be made gluten free as they will definitely try to accommodate you. Tedy, Abo and Halmety were just 3 of the many staff we met in the restaurants but all looked after us superbly. Bandula, one of the senior management team was always on hand to ensure we had an amazing time and the General Manager Ross, ensured he met all the guests at his weekly cocktail party at Sky, the bar area. Finally I cannot ignore the house reef. This was undoubtedly the best house reef we have encountered in our 6 visits to the Maldives with a vast variety of fish species including sharks and lion fish. We were told others had seen octopus. Snorkelling seemed very safe. Overall this was the best resort we have stayed at in the Maldives and certainly one we would return to when we revisit the Maldives.…
the resort is beautiful. the staff very friendly and attentive. the facilities are spacious and very, very clean. The food is a little bit problem the food leaves a little to be desired, the only drawback of the hotel. the asian restaurant is very dark and we couldn't see what we ate. the Japanese restaurant was the only unpleasant experience. we went at the scheduled time but everyone was in a hurry to attend. they barely served the plate and they were already collecting, cleaning and closing everything. we feel very bad about the situation. By the way the breakfast is wonderful. I think the best part is to see how happy are the time that works there
My wife and I went to the Anantara to celebrate her 40th birthday. I spent months researching resorts in the Maldives and had specific criteria in mind. While Anantara checked all the boxes, I was still nervous that I might be disappointed on arrival. All I can say is that there was no disappointment at all. We were both blown away with everything about our stay. This place is a paradise and I cannot recommend it enough. We arrived in Male and after passing through immigration were immediately met by someone from the resort who took our bags and walked us over to the Manta Air check-in desk. After getting checked in and getting our bag tags, we were driven by car over to the seaplane terminal where Anantara has a lounge. The lounge has food, drinks, nice bathrooms, and plenty of seating. We were told our seaplane would take off at 1030 and they would come get us when it was time. The seaplane took off on time and when we landed at the resort after 35 minutes, we were greeted by the staff and our villa host Jambe. We were immediately taken to our villa and did the check-in process there. Jambe was awesome. He was attentive throughout our entire stay and was there when we needed anything. He had even pre-booked restaurants for us which was a nice touch. We stayed in Overwater Villa 218 and I cannot recommend enough. It was towards the end of the jetty on the right side which meant it was very private. We snorkeled from our villa once and found a few really good areas. The villa itself was perfect. The bedroom area was big with strong AC throughout the entire stay. The bathroom was huge with anything you could think of. We loved the sliding doors to the pool and the outdoor shower. The see through bathtub and toilet area was a nice touch as well. The bikes for our villa worked great. We used them to get around the island. At night we just walked and enjoyed the nice island breeze. The outdoor deck was the best part. My wife and I spent mornings and afternoons relaxing in the overwater nets, the sun loungers, or the oversized deck swing. It was perfect. Water, coffee, and tea are provided and restocked daily. The mini bar has a lot of choices as well. In the afternoon we would usually go to the main pool area and relax. It was never crowded even when the resort was at full capacity. You can order drinks and food there and watch guests come and go on the seaplane. Dinners were had at Plates, Spice, and Manzaru. The dinner at plates was an Asian themed buffet that was really well done. We enjoyed Spice and Manzaru as well. We would usually eat breakfast from 10-11 and then have an afternoon snack before dinner. The breakfast spread was top notch. Anything and everything you could want. A few other highlights: Stargazing was great and informative and something different and fun to do. The spa for a couples massage was very relaxing and worth it. Snorkeling was great. The house reef had a lot to see including a sea turtle. Service was top notch from beginning to end. We were able to check in early and check out late and we never touched our bags. Jambe our villa host was great. The only thing I would say is that it is expensive. Food and drinks are expensive, but it's all worth it. Anantara Kihavah is the closest I've been to paradise on earth. I cannot recommend this place enough. …
Thank you maj so much for everything i was amazing trip with you and with the best hotel i stayed in in my life and I wish you a happy life and from it to the top because you deserve it thank you again for everything 🤍
fantastic resort with a wide range of high quality restaurants, great accommodation and outstanding service. from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel comfortable, welcome and always made sure we had a great experience. all excellent.
Let me start by saying reading a Maldives review can be tricky as if it is from a first time visit all people are amazed ,as Maldives is truly beautiful and even a 3 star resort has good food and Maldivinan kitchen is good. We went 5 days to Kihava in Feb to continue with 4 days at their sister resort Anantara Dighu (Another review soon), I have been to to 12 resorts since my first time in Maldives 1996. Soneva Fushi, Huvafen fushi, Coco Palm, Coco Bodu Hithi, Villamendoo, Sun Siyam, Cora Cora..and some more. After experience what I look for is a lush island, with good close by snorkeling, good scuba area, nice beach , good service, great food and restaurants and the right vibe/mode. Kihava has it all. from the moment you arrive you get that feeling of ease, the calm, the here I want to be feeling, with no stress, were ever you go on the island you want to stay and have no stress. There are not many that have it all. The food is amazing, the restaurant settings too, underwater is fantastic, far better then the one at Conrad, cocktail and wines superb. Villas very nice. So service, impeccable, never a plate on you table too long, never wait to order, always tidy and good with real friendly staff, house cleaning sparkeling. We had some really small issues with our first villa and some other bad luck things, let me tell you that this was adressed with speed and professionality and over the top compensated for. Our host Zaheen was truely amazing and set everything up what we wanted. Snorkeling is very good, very close access to the reef were I during my first 30mins saw a huge Grey reef shark, blacktip, Turtles and Eagle rays also beautiful corals and ton of small schools of fish, so if you go out there, you can see stuff :) Kids club, I have a 5 year old girl who absolutely loved it, she is still talking about it, activities and staff amazing. This is and island you want to go to rest and relax, there are no pool games or inflatables in the main pool, everything feels like a big spa. The BEST Maldivian Island I have ever visited and I am Picky Thank you Kihava, Per Widelov…
We celebrated wedding anniversary here and believed here is one of the best in Maldives, a great place indeed for vacation and very good services from villa host. We will definitely come back for our next wedding anniversary
