This location is not up to ADA code. Greatful that the gentleman came out to escort my mother though the grass to the door w 2 steps. But legally speaking, there are certain obligations to make sure that you provide relatively good disabled access in restaurants. I would not recommend this place for buffet either. The line to get to the food is weaved through rooms and uneven surfaces with no railings. The food was cold and not worth the price compared to other buffets in the area.

Our one night stay at this uniquely charming mansion felt more like a much longer getaway. I liken it to being carried away to an earlier era of graciousness and class. The antiques and decor are literally jaw dropping with one room more fascinating than another, yet not fussy. A lot of thought went into the guests comfort with plush chairs or sofas and lamps in all the right places including one fronting a wood burning fireplace. The linens and towels were luxurious and the comforters were warm and cozy. In spite of the cold November temperatures, we couldn't resist touring the grounds with the brick paths, pavillion, pool and whimsical child's playhouse. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. served by the cooks who showed obvious pleasure in their work. The proprietor, Nina, was gracious and adept at making us feel welcome and at home. A big thanks to Nina, John (for the neatly stacked firewood and barn tour), and the cooks for a wonderful escape! We can't wait to return!

Our sons rehearsal dinner was beautiful at Oscar Swans. Service was impeccable and the food delicious. Nina helped us with everything and bent over backwards to insure a perfect evening. Because of Pritzker/Covid we had to move it outside at the last minute. Nina and her staff scrambled and when we arrived everything went smooth and beautiful. Hats off to Nina and her wonderful staff!

We planned our sons Rehearsal Dinner on 10/24/20 and the evening prior, the Gov shut down indoor dining. The owner, Nina and her staff pivoted quickly to move us outdoor to her garden area. They added fire pits and beautiful lighting and elegant tables to make the experience better than an evening at the Four Seasons. All of the attendee's were overwhelmingly impressed. All agreed that this will be a destination for future events. We can't say enough for Nina and her staff!

I'd give it 0 stars if allowed! We hosted a sweet fifteen yesterday. From the minute we set foot in the morning to set up it was a nightmare. Nina the owner has a terrible attitude and lacks costumer service as well as her husband who also runs the place. They help themselves to the event's food and alcohol, which is catered in. She charged over a grand to set up silverware, cups, and buffet dishes.... We show up to find out that we have to carry out everything and set it up from the main house to the tent. They also had no shaffers. At the time of the event, it got worst. Not only did they try no micromanage, which was unnecessary considering we have hosted events there twice before, but the owner kept helping himself to the bar each time he came to complain about something. The bathrooms are a long walk and they had agreed to keep them open for seniors only, well they did not. Then they personally interrupted the music to tell them to lower it AT 9 pm! Then again at 9:30pm we were told that music had to end at 11 even though the year before we had it until 12, and the new time hadn't been spoken about at the time of booking. Then he interrupted the live band at 10:30, and 11pm. During the cake cutting as well. Not to mention he was clearly drunk on our dime. After many altercations that evening with both Nina and that old man, he turned off the lights on us as we were loading up to leave. After telling him we needed 15 mins with the lights, it gets extremely dark out there and it wad pouring. He said he didn't care for our safety. Nina just came and sat in the middle of the tent as we cleared up. THE WORST experience ever! No service, no class. Needles to say we are suing for breach of contract, contacting the city, and the Better Business Beauru. Run! Not worth it, not one bit. Also the man when talking to me a fluent English speaker said, "comprende" when i clarified i spoke English, again during this altercation he was holding a beer Infront of the bar, which we paid for. Take your business anywhere but here, you will regret it. Terrible service just awful!

I had to travel home to Illinois for a family emergency and had my two VERY small dogs with me. Due to the dogs, I had to find a pet friendly hotel in the Geneva, Il area. The first place that we located was the Oscar Swan Country Inn. We arrived late in the day on Thursday, 9 MAY, after a very long day on the road. We checked in, was shown our rooms by a very nice lady, and quickly got our things from the car. My daughter had an immediate headache from the smoke smell in the room, so my wife and I changed rooms with her. We all went to bed and got up early the next morning. My daughter and my wife were both not feeling well due to the heavy smoke smell, so we advised the manager that we would need to check out. The manager at first tried to talk us out of it, but we insisted that the room was not conducive to their health, and there were no other rooms available to us. To add insult to injury, the manager then informed us that she would have to charge us a $100 cancelation fee, since we were leaving early. So, because we physically could not stay, it cost in excess of $385 for a one-night stay in a inn. No service to speak of, hard as nails mattress, smell that made both my wife and my daughter sick, and in a hundred-year-old building with faulty plumbing. Not certain why they are still in business!!

Hello. So sorry we could not meet your expectations while you stayed with us. In the midst of the covid virus we have updated our bed and breakfast. Many plumbing fixes, the interior of the house has been newly painted, along with some beautiful changes to our grounds. All our rooms are non-smoking. We would love a second chance to please you. Thank you

We had a BEAUTIFUL time at the Inn! Charming, roomy, outstanding food and staff! Our family of 22 fit confortably at the INN where Nina, Pat and staff took great care of us. Step back in time and enjoy all the beautiful, antique appointments, art work and ambience. We had a constant fire in the massive fireplace and there was plenty of room(s) for us to spread out and talk, play games and enjoy our time together.

A Lovely old time mansion. We love this place for the Holidays. A crackling fire. Charming architecture and furnishing and wonderful home cooked food has made this place a favorite. Lovely traditional rooms with private or shared bath for out of town family and friends.

First of all, this is a unique property. With that said, I would never consider staying here again. We called and reserved a suite with a private bath. We arrived and were told that the folks hadn’t checked out, they were still napping in our room. She said we could have another room right away. So we agreed but no private bath, it was now a shared bath, at the same price? Yes, she said. So how can I say “bait and switch?” Funny thing about that couple in our room. Turns out they were our good friends, and they booked the room for the weekend. They had no intention of checking out. We felt cheated. Room was tiny and the AC was horrible, loud, and inefficient . There is WiFi, it never worked or should I repeat what she told me “if you leave your door open you might get a signal” No TV, which is okay. If you’re going for a wedding, find a hotel nearby. I do want to add that the wedding staff was excellent. Breakfast was made to order, however, it was an egg sandwich with fruit. No other options. Don’t like negativity but, B & B Guest BEWARE !!

Hi. So sorry we did not meet your expectations. We have taken steps to ensure overbookings like yours do not happen in the future. Concerning the wifi, as we are a historic inn, we have tried to maintain that old-world feel as much as possible. However, we can now say that wifi is available in all our rooms and we would appreciate a second chance to please you.
