This year for the first time I visit the island of Kithira. The hotel Athena is in Mylopotamos in the middle of the island with nice view. Mylopotamos is a nice town with kind and very helpful people. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast was incredible.
Perched on top of a hill, this hotel has great views with large rooms that are modern and very comfortable. The service from the owners is warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The hotel is easy walking distance to the heart of Milopotamos, the taverna and shops there. Thank you Panayiotis and Athena for a lovely stay.
Beautiful hotel on top of a hill looking down into the vast majestic ocean. Very friendly environment, friendly staff and a great service.Nice views looking out into the ocean, plenty of parking, nice spacious room, nice little patios in front of the rooms you stay in. Lots of site seeing to go have a look at while visiting the island of Kythera. If you come to Kythera in summer time be sure to stay at Hotel Athena you won’t be disappointed! We were very happy with our stay in at Hotel Athena!
Hotel seems a little bit in the middle of nowhere, but actually is close to the nice village of Mylopotamos and has beautiful views over the sea and the countryside. The premise is modern. Rooms are quite wide clean. Breakfast no more than average in category. Family staff is warm and keen to help guests.
I spent a week on the island and at Athena's hotel. Everything was ideal; the room is super clean and comfortable. The bed mattress is divine - you will get a perfect rest after swimming in the crystal sea of Kythira. Athena & her husband are the most accomodating, warm and genuine people. They were always helping us with suggestions on where to swim, where to eat, what to see, which route to walk from. Athena is also an excellent cook! The breakfast keeps you full for the day until you enjoy a traditional Greek dinner. She uses fresh ingredients and she is always there to ask you if you want more!! We loved the location and the view - peaceful scenery. We toured the whole island and I think we picked the best location to stay- Mylopotamos waterfalls and the path along the water mills is a must-see. The restaurants have also quality local food and Kalami, an amazing beach is very close. I absolutely recommend it! You will definitely want to go back- just as we do.…
