We had a great stay at the Farmers’ Guesthouse. Check-in and check-out were easy! Elaine, Luke and Mark were exceptional hosts. Elaine’s breakfasts were tasty and varied and always had a special touch. Luke and Mark answered all our questions and sent us in the right direction. We loved exploring the shops of Galena, all within walking distance. We ate at Generals and nearby Timmerman’s, both had great food and service. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Farmers’ Guesthouse!

This was by far the best hospitality that we have received during a hotel/B&B stay. My husband and I stayed in the Charlotte suite. Location is awesome as we walked Dow town several times. The breakfasts were out of this world delicious! You won’t go wrong by staying here. Thank you to Mark, Elaine and Luke for a wonderful experience!

Mark, Luke and Elaine deliver personal attention and personalities that make a stay a Farmers Guest House a memorable experience. Breakfast is excellent and the additional amenities like daily wine and charcuteries add to an already excellent experience. The common area and dining room are nicely decorated and allow for making new friends and conversation. We intend to visit again.

We loved our stay here! This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and an amazing experience. Mark, Luke, and Elaine do an excellent job ensuring you have everything you need. An exceptional breakfast each morning, great customer service, and prime location if you are looking for a spot that is within walking distance to downtown. We will definitely stay here again!

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. The inn keepers were fantastic to work with, great rooms and decorations. Breakfast was top notch and presentation was wonderful. Really liked the wine time with the cheese, crackers, wine, and cookies. Above my expectations!!!!! Thank you!!!!

My wife and I have stayed at plenty of B&B’s in multiple places throughout the years. We are fortunate to say that most of them have been fairly decent. Since our favorite one in Galena had closed years ago, we’re always on the lookout for another great one. After this past weekend, I believe we’ve found it. Farmer’s Guest House was a beautiful place to stay. Mark, Luke, and Elaine were beyond welcoming hosts. The rooms are cozy. We loved the cookies, cheese & crackers, and wine that we received daily in our room. On top of that, the breakfast they served was amazing. Both days the food was nothing short of spectacular. Not to mention they took great care to substitute something wonderful for my wife both days since she doesn’t eat pork. The pumpkin streusel muffin was out of this world, but so was the French toast soufflé. I could go on, but why bother. There are lots of wonderful B&B choices in Galena, but we can definitely highly recommend Farmer’s Guest House. We already booked our next stay!…

So many of the other reviews have already covered how wonderful the hosts are and how great the breakfasts are so I won't go back over this. It's all true. They also have lovely little touches (wine/cookies that are left)... So other things. Firstly, there was quite a lot written about the construction. I am a really light sleeper and heard absolutely nothing. We were to a room at the back but honestly, I would not worry about the construction. It seems to be winding down and the biggest issue (which is pretty small) is that sometimes it means the road is down to one lane. We had absolutely no problems finding the B&B and/or coming to and from. There is a public parking lot across the street and whilst not big, we found a place each time we returned. To the accommodation: When you enter, the stairs are to the front and to the back in the reception. There is a sitting room and a breakfast room on the first floor. There are also a few rooms on the ground floor. Most of the rooms are on the second floor. The hosts can take up your bags to the room. If anyone has a problem with stairs, I would take a ground floor room but it is only one flight up. Our room (the Malian) was perfect. A king size bed, small table with 2 chairs, a Keurig coffee maker, microwave and small fridge. The bathroom had a bath and shower. It was super quiet. Out the back on the 2nd floor is a lovely garden. We slept very well. From the house it is a very short walk to the Main Street and over to Grant Park. Galena is nice for about 2 days. Go to Casper Bluffs if you are here and maybe think about a day trip to Dubuque (so close). …

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Farmer's Guest House. This was our second visit with them; both times we stayed in the cottage in the back, we love the space and how secluded it is. Elaine, Luke, and Mark are the best hosts and we truly love seeing them. They make everyone feel right at home and you can really tell that this is their passion. Now, The breakfast; it is our favorite part, 10000000/10. Elaine is an absolute genius in the kitchen. We can't wait to come back for the 3rd time.

I almost never write reviews - but wanted to share the fantastic experience we had here. First the rooms - they were clean, comfortable and there was such an efficient system for getting what you needed (fresh towels or amenities) or wanted (cookies! wine!). The hosts are warm and welcoming - as well as being very organized. All three of them - Mark, Luke and Elaine - were incredibly kind and helpful. We had a bit of trouble navigating since there was some construction going on and they immediately had helpful suggestions about driving around and parking. The location is great as well - I was mildly concerned about getting back and forth from all the action in Galena but it's basically a five minute walk. I can't imagine coming back to Galena and staying anywhere else.

This is our second time staying here and will not be our last. This B&B just makes you feel right at home. The breakfast is outstanding! Everyone is so sweet, and just sitting at breakfast being able to talk to other couples was so much fun. 10/10 for everything they do!
